Customers are impressed with Pokémon's engaging gameplay, captivating story, and expansive Wild Area. Many praise the game's ease of use and accessibility, while also enjoying the open-world exploration and additional downloadable content. Some players, however, found the game's challenge level to be too simple and expressed concerns about the number of Pokémon available and the overall amount of content. Despite these criticisms, the positive feedback on various aspects of the game is significant.

The Best Pokemon in Years!
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. As someone who grew up with the Pokemon franchise, I couldn't be more pleased with Sword/Shield. The game maintains everything that has made the series what it is today, while also boldly pushing into new territory. There are many quality of life changes that I didn't know I needed, but that I was very pleased to see. The structure of the game allows you to build more diverse teams early on, while also allowing players to quickly get a new roster up to speed with far less grinding. In essence, it pushes away the tedium and allows you to get right into the core of the fun that Pokemon has always had on offer. If you haven't played a Pokemon game in a while, I recommend giving this one a shot. It grows the franchise in some very important ways and offers an experience that is at once fresh and familiar.

I’m a Hunter....for shinies
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I’ve played Pokémon since the first game. I skipped a few games, but I am glad I did not skip this Pokémon version. I am reliving my younger years catching Pokémon’s once again. This one makes you feel like you are playing in a cartoon. I enjoy all the new aspects and changes the game has made. No more getting stuck with transport Pokémon’s that have to know certain moves to get around. I wish there were more wild areas. Cue the expansion ...lol Once you get a Shiny.....you will want more!

Interesting
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It has become a necessity for me to purchase each new Pokemon expansion, at least one of the versions. This one is interesting, I can hardly imagine how they keep coming out with so many new pokemon each expansion.

Great game!
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.A must have game. The multiplayer feature is what I like most about this game. Can't get enough playing online battles. You'll want to learn more about setups, timing, reading your opponent's next move. Just can't get enough.

300 Pokemon to catch
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So for with about 10 hours into the game, I am enjoying it. I like the new Pokemon but still prefer the original (since that's what I grew up with). Graphics are very good. Controls work just fine as they should. Nothing new there.

Much to do even after winning the gym challenge
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. While Pokemon might not be as revolutionary as it was 20+ years ago, Shield (and Sword) still provide a fun experience during the main quest and much more to do as you continue training to be the very best. The Wild Area has a lot of strong Pokemon to battle and catch. It's not quite Pokemon: Breath of the Wild, but it's the closest thing we have to date.

Good Pokemon Game for Casual Gamers
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a Pokemon game that follows the same formula and recipe as the previous generations with the exception that it is finally on a home console. While there were many expectations for this game, it is important to remember that this game is targeted toward children and not toward adults, for the most part. Yes, it is disappointing that we do not get access to all of the Pokemon from the get-go and will need to purchase the expansion pass that is coming out soon in order to get this perk, but there are a few positives from this game. First, the wilderness is remade and there is no more Elite Four. The plot for one of your rivals has many holes and doesn't make much sense. You can use the internet with this game, but I noticed that there was some lag at times depending on the quality of my internet connection. The main game was completed in ~24 hours of game time even when I talked to all of the town people and caught some pokemon on the side. This game is a nice addition to the Pokemon family, but it does have its flaws. Most notably, the ease of the game (again could be attributed to the fact that it is targeted toward children). Overall, it is a decent game. Just don't have too high of an expectation for it.

Solid Pokemon Game
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I haven't played a Pokemon game in years so I can't speak to the mechanics as groundbreaking or not. This felt like a nice solid entry that reminded me of fond memories of Pokemon with decent modernizations.

A great addition to the Pokémon legacy
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I already own and completed Pokémon Sword, so this is my second run through Galar. I know some might complain about SW/SH missing some of the series’ nearly 900 Pokémon, or how some of the features made the game much simpler, but this was a purely fun installment in this series regardless. Some new features take away some of the hum drum that comes with the post-game usually. The Gym battles are the best gym experiences I have had since playing Pokémon Blue back in the 90s! The music and dialogue and atmosphere to them all. It’s the way gym battles should be. Granted, the game is a little short and starved for things to do in the post-game, and it’s unfortunate that the expansion does cost extra to get that additional content, but this is otherwise a solid installment.

Solid Pokemon game
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I'm just about done with the story of the game so far and it has pretty much played out as a typical Pokemon story. When it comes to the other features of the games, it is a bit disappointing that so much was cut but the game still remains fun with the addition of the wild area, the raid battles, and just watching the Pokemon roam around in the over world

Must Play Pokemon
||Posted . Owned for 11 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. While there are the problems that people on the internet love to mention, this is still a solid addition to the Pokemon mainline family. Hours of fun, even if it's not perfect.

Still a very fun Pokémon game (No Spoilers)
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Despite this game having notably less content than past main-series Pokémon games, Pokémon Shield feels like you’re breathing fresh clean air. The graphics are wonderful to look at and they truly bring you into the world of Pokémon like never before. Character customization is a big plus, along with fantastic music to capture the essence of a new world.

Awesome addition to the Pokémon series
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So much to do and so many Pokémon to catch! Love the online interactions and the almost open world feel to it. Amazing to actually see Pokémon that you’re going to run into in a more realistic way to explore the pokemon world.

Gotta Catch (Most) of Them!
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Pokemon Sword and Shield sees trainers return in search of capturing and training the world’s Pokémon. Speaking of world, Pokémon Sword and Shield are set in the Galar region, which draws inspiration from England. Gamefreak has swayed to far from the gameplay mechanics found in other Pokémon games. Pokémon trainer obligatory meets professor, then selects starter Pokémon, followed by meeting and battling his/her rival, and finally sets off on his/her adventure. With that said, Gamefreak still has not implemented the option to have veteran Pokémon skip the training portion of the game. Overall, it’s a Pokémon game and is fun. In reference to the controversies regarding this game, data miners have been able to find that Gamefreak utilized the same Pokémon models found in Pokémon Sun and Moon, which are both 3DS games from a few years ago. The background textures found in the Galatia’s region are ugly and flat—lifeless. However, the worst offense of them all is that Gamefreak cut more than a handful of Pokémon from both Sword and Shield. If you were a fan of Dragonite, sorry, it did not make the cut. For a game whose marketing slogan is “Gotta Catch ‘Em All!”, Gamefreak really dropped the ball with their latest release of Pokémon.

Very enjoyable game and lots to do.
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Fun to play, with many fun Pokemon and town designs. The Pokemon world looks very lovely because graphics are much improved with ONLY ONE EXCEPTION which is that the trees look bad but that is it. It would get 5 stars if it weren't for the fact that some Pokemon were cut from the game, but it is barely noticeable unless you have played Pokemon before.
