Overall the game is very enjoyable. The only reason I took one star away is because there is not much content with the base game. You have to pay for the expansions to really open it up. If they game came with the expansions then I would have given it 5 stars!

What a great game?! They took a lot of what made older pokemon games fun and twisted it with new mechanics and limits that make for a real great time! Definitely would recommend.

Picked it up for the holidays to try and catch them all. The different versions have a few different pokemon that you can catch exclusively in each game. Overall gameplay is nice - the world is big and you go through catching pokemon as you battle your way up. Took off 1 star for graphics.

Loads of fun but I felt like the game was a little fast in comparison to some of the others. Loved some of the gameplay and definitely interested in getting Sword after playing this.

This is a nice transition entry into the Pokemon series that shows what we can expect from console games rather that what he had expected. It needs more content.

The game is awesome but it seems rather easy to play compared to some of the older games in the series. However it is made beautifully and is a great addition to the series!

I held off on buying this game because I knew it would be a time suck...I was right in the best way! 40 hours of gameplay and theres still so much exploring to do<3

This is an awesome game that goes very well with Pokemon Sword. So far, we have to put time limits for playing time, because the boys would never put it down.

I know a lot of people have had issues with the game but 4 hours in and I'm having fun. Yes the lack of voice over is weird, and the first hour or so is a lot of handholding but the core mechanics are still there along with helpful quality of life improvements and some cool additions.

My only gripe was that the tutorial at the beginning before you can start playing was a few hours long. The end seemed to take forever as well with a lot of dialogue. I liked the feature that the pokemon are actually walking in the grass so that you can now see them.

I bought this game for my girlfriend, I have the opposite of it which is Pokémon sword and I love this game series so much. I recently beat my game and I loved the ending

My children like Pokemon so much had to buy a second game for them to play together. Solid game if you are into Pokemon. Standard Pokemon style game.

The game is so fun, you can make your own character, and make the story yours. The one thing I dont like is that the pokedex isnt complete, but we can cross our fingers and wait

This is one of my favorite games in the series and one of the best games on switch. I will say the sword legendary is better than shield though so maybe go with it, I wish I had.

Game Freak really did nothing to improve the latest game. No risk was taken, in fact, they went backwards in terms of development. Another generation with a new gimmick, Dynamaxing (giant Pokémon), a gimmick that will not make it to the next generation since it will be unique to the Galar region. If you haven't heard the controversy, less than half of current Pokémon exists in the game. Dexit as people have been calling it, where the developers claimed that the reason why they cut the Pokédex was so that they could spend more time on working on new models and animation. That was a lie. Models were imported from previous games. Animations is a joke when you compare it to similar games, such as Digimon Story Cyber Sleuth. Online aspect of the game is archaic. You can now join other players in raids where you take down these giant Pokémon. The problem is, it doesn’t work most of the time when you try to join these other players. If you want to trade with people, you have to set up a room with a link code (4-digit code) and hope that you join the correct person. Game is playable, but nothing memorable. The plot is non-existent. NPC's are forgettable. One last thing. Pokémon is one of the biggest franchises in the industry, if not the biggest for Nintendo, yet this game does not support cloud saves. Bravo.

Really good game. Really easy though which is kinda lame, but still a fun experience. Nothing to really do after completing your Pokedex unless you like to competitive battle.

My daughter and I enjoy playing this. Its a nice method to bond with her teaching her all my trick i knew as a kid.
