i have been an avid pokemon player since the first generation, and have played these games for more than 20 years. i have never seen anything like this. once you get to the pokemon league, their pokemon take no damage and one shot everything on your team. super effective moves are lucky to take half of their hp even if you have 30 levels on them. this makes absolutely 0 sense and needs patched immediately. had an enemy infernape wipe out my entire team after getting "enemy infernape has avoided the attack" (an attack with 100% accuracty) FOUR TIMES IN A ROW. this completely negates the experience share mechanic. how can the game be this hand-holdy in the beginning then this barbarically brutal at the end? theres no justification, i will update my review if this gets patched, but this is beyond infuriating.

Graphics could be better like Shield and Sword but overall another Pokémon game worth playing.

This game is vital to the cohesiveness of the Pokemon storyline as there are references to it in the other games in the series. Though it is not required to play any of the other games; it does give more insight into the lore within the Pokemon universe. My kids love everything Pokemon and they read everything out loud to me as they play. Makes reading my book more difficult but the chat bubbles give them more reading practice after their homework is done. If your kid likes or loves Pokemon then this game is a great addition to your gaming library. ^_^

Gift for our son, he was very excited to receive the game and as been very happy playing it!!

This game stays pretty faithful to the original. Though I wish the price was $40 not $60.

Not as good graphics wise compared to sword and shield, but still had fun playing it.

Fun game - similar to the retro GB games. A bit easier than expected — the XP share is kind of unfair, but it’s a fun game regardless.

Bought this as a gift for my nephew because he likes Pokémon wasn’t sure if he was going to like it but I’m glad to say it was a success.

Cant get any better for what I paid. I bought the brilliant diamond version about a month before, could not resite buying this one also for just $30.

Caught this one sale for half price. My son had Diamond Version so I decided to pick this up as a Christmas gift. I'm sure he will be happy with it

Fantastic remake of a classic! I was excited to get Shining Pearl for myself and Brilliant Diamond for my brother for a bit of childhood nostalgia.

Fun game, but the glitches are annoying but I only will deduct one star

Great game. My first Pokémon game I ever purchased was Pearl version. Definitely brought back some good memories to see it in a updated version.
