Customers are saying

Customers often highlight the solid gameplay, beautiful graphics, and engaging story as major strengths of Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield Double Pack. Many also praise the Wild Area and the introduction of new Pokémon. However, some players find the game too easy and express concerns about the amount of content. Positive feedback also focuses on the open world, ease of use, and the overall fun factor.

I haven't played a Pokemon game since Black and White. Sword and Shield offer fun new mechanics such as Gigantamax and other cool animations but the overall game feels lackluster and rushed. They definitely should've included the DLCs in the game.

I ended up not getting the double pack, I opted for a single copy of sword from elsewhere. I wish I didn’t do that second part, as this game is very mediocre. If you are wanting a Pokémon game to casually play on the switch you may enjoy these, but I’d suggest just getting one of them. They are fundamentally the same with minor differences, and online makes this irrelevant. Either way, it is very average compared even to the previous entries Sun and Moon, nothing sticks out about it. There are plenty of ways to better spend $60, or in this specific item’s case $120.

Purchased this game for the kiddo and he only played it for a couple of days. Disappointed at the lack of challenge, but not surprised. Overall, I would buy it again but only when they offered a better deal.

My favorite is still Second gen and the remakes for it. SwSh is fun but l feel like the wild dynamax battles are too repetitive and boring. Some of them look cool, but Mega was a better mechanic.

Same game since I was a kid...it would be nice if they would at least switch some elements up a bit. Same game with small extra bells and whistles

I didn't really enjoy these games. I was never really a Pokemon fan, so these are geared more towards those types of gamers.

I'm a pokemon fan that had high hope for the first main pokemon game in the one of the best console maybe ever, and it was painfully boring to get through this game, even though the game almost plays itself and all you have to do is repeatedly mash the A button. Graphics are bad, it looks like a port from the 3ds, and you can't even appreciate them because the camera is still fixed, as if we still are in the gameboy era, the wild area is the only place you can clumsily rotate the camera and is just a headache because there is always an illogical wheater condition that won't let you see your surroundings, the gigantamax mechanics is just dumb how is locked behind event pokemon only, they got rid of mega evolutions for this (one of the best welcomed changes to the core game mechanics By the fandom), characters are unmemorable, the story is so tired and poorly executed and I mean, I did not got this games for the deep and complex story but come on! At least they should try to make something average if they are going to charge for a premium game, long story short, skip this games not worth your time or money, and if you're a new comer to pokemon, oh boy this game makes everything more complex than what it was, so don't waste your money on this one

The new pokemon themselves look great, the world is often interesting to look at. But the story is weak and areas are extremely shallow.

I had such high hopes for this game, but was bitterly disappointed for a great many reasons. Gamefreak majorly dropped the ball. The 'DLC' is releasing next month supposedly. 6 months after the game's release, its no longer really relevant. I beat the game and put it down. Not interested in picking it back up again, the story is lacking, and so is the replay-value.

I feel like Pokémon games used to be made with all ages in mind, but after the Ruby and Sapphire remakes they have become increasingly hand-holdy. Also, the last 3DS games came with so much extra content, but for these you have to pay $60 per game plus another $30 per game for additional content. Sorry, Nintendo. I think you just lost a Pokémon fan.
