Overall not a bad Pokémon game. The open world let’s you tackle the game as you please.

The game itself is what we expect out of a pokemon game. The issue that we are going to keep seeing is that game developers want to push the boundaries of what's possible with their games and the Nintendo Switch just can't handle it. Its been years without any hardware/performance improvements to the Switch. It's time for a Switch Pro!

Is the game perfect? No. But its fun none the less. Its a pokemon game and Ive enjoyed it.

Best pokemon game yet. Will entertain you for hours.

The base level battle system hasn't changed much since the Game Boy days, and it hasn't aged so well; every move, every item used, every individual status change, etc., each gets almost a full second every turn, and it really slows things down. Arceus was a little snappier, and I much prefer the ability to catch Pokemon without battling them (sadly, this did not make the jump the Scarlet/Violet). The glitches are real and frequent, and overall the game just seems to stutter. That being said, the idea of the open Pokemon world is fun, that is a big step in the right direction as long as future installments are less janky. If you like Pokemon games in general, you'll like this one, but performance and the battle system really need an overhaul.
