I wanted a heart rate monitor that was compatible with my iPhone 5 so I could track my heart rate when cycling. I have used Polar HR monitors in the past, but they work with a watch or sports equipment, and I had no way to record the data. The H7 touts the ability to work as a bluetooth 4 HRM with iPhones and other devices, while still being compatible with older Polar "gym Link" devices. I often have to remove the battery and reset it, as it fails to connect to my iPhone that I have already paired, it doesn't work with my LifeCycle which works with my older Polar straps, and the signal routinely drops out on my Polar watch, which will pair, but looses signal. The H7 also fails to connect unless my iPhone is in a front breast pocket, or immediately in front of me. Pants front pocket is no good. These experiences are consistent with reviews I read on sports related websites. I just exchanged for a new unit, and though it recorded my ride this morning on my iPhone, it dropped out sending data to my Polar watch several times. :(

This is a nice gadget and you definitely need it to help determine the intensity level of your workouts. It tracks with GPS for instance a run or walk. I actually showed up on a map in Maui when I was running along the beach. You have to sync with the Polar app to see all the features. I also use it when playing tennis to see how hard I am actually running after a ball. Overall, the product is a lot of fun to use if you like gadgets!

It is an excellent product. I have synchronized the Polar H7 with apps such as Mapmyride and MOOV.

I have the polar loop and both apps sync with each other I love that!

This is my first HRM, and I have been very pleased with it. It works great with the Endomondo app on my iphone 5.

This product is pretty accurate with keeping up with your daily steps and heart rate monitoring.

Easy to adjust, chest strap is comfortable and washable. Most importantly much more accurate than watches.

If you are just starting out this maybe the right product to start out with. Not too complex, simple and easy to use.

Don’t bother!!! By the time you get it to connect to your phone your heart rate will already be through the roof from frustration!!!!! I purchased this for my wife so we could track her pulse throughout the day. Due to her MVP we wanted to watch her pulse through the day and try to figure out when she thought she was having an issue and what her pulse was at during that time. I have done research and the chest straps tend to be more accurate that the wrist or finger monitors. The Polar had great reviews and one thing I will say is that when you get it working the Pulse rate is very accurate. We compared the pulse from the Polar to the blood pressure cuff at the doctors and it was spot on. We have tried to change the battery, clean the strap after every use and also wet the strap before putting it on and still we cannot get it to sync. Out of the month and a half we have had it my wife has only been able to wear it 3 times. It is too late to return it so I am stuck with it.

Works great with my iPhone App. Which was important as I want less equipment on when I run.
