Doesn't work in water/swimming. The band slips a lot. Weak signal strength forces you to workout with your phone on your body. The reason we purchased this item was it was a requirement for a college fitness course. If we knew how inadequate it was, maybe the instructor could have selected another brand.

The bluetooth is sporadic at best. Takes forever to pair and then loses signal. Have tried it with android, iPad, and iPhone. Stinks.

great device but don't lose your receipt

I've had the device 7 months now and it's worked great doing all I expected. When the battery is running out you'll get wildly ranging numbers for your heart rate. Like 49 BPM and then 190 BPM the next second. This isn't a problem as you just pop in a new battery and all is well. About a month or 2 ago the device starting doing the wild numbers act and i replaced the battery only to have it work normally for a week and then start the wild number presentation again. Even though I had just changed the battery, I did it again...and it's still doing this behavior. There are lots of comments about this behavior online so it's not an isolated problem I'm having. Polar states they have a 2 year warranty so you can send it to them (in New York) and they'll check it out. The problem is that you must have the original receipt...they don't have an online warranty registration and without it...you'll pay for the service. I like the device as it works great when it's working properly. Just keep the receipt!

Purchased this to use with Apple Watch Gen 2 during HIIT workouts, running, biking, etc. Works fine during consistent, repetitive movement (i.e. running, spinning). Once I start throwing weights around, pushups, pull-ups... things I do every time I workout and the entire reason I wanted a reliable HR chest strap to pair with Apple Watch in the first place....it displays 78bpm and quits working. Absolutely worthless. I've been wearing heart rate monitors for years and have never had this issue. Never purchasing Polar products ever again.

I bought this to accompany the polar loop. I returned the polar loop before this product even got delivered. I decided to try this product anyway with my phone instead of accompanying the polar loop and the app was broken. I waited for 2 weeks and the app for the product would just say "pause, pause, pause" over and over.

I received the product and was excited to use it, however, following the instructions it has worked yet. It will not connect to my Samsung 2 or my IPad. I have looked up videos on YouTube and Polars website to no avail. I will have to call the company but according to the reviews they will not be much help. The reviews on bestbuy.com were very favorable but when I did a search on the web, I found out otherwise. I am very disapointed.

It would not work with my phone and the limitation was not on the box to let me know that it was the wrong product for me. They have a similar product that does work with my phone that I have not found.
