Great HR Monitor
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a great HR Monitor! Really easy to set up with POLAR LOOP (which I also own), just hold it close to the loop, and hit the button on the band, it will automatically pair, and your loop will show you your HR. Also tells you if your in the FAT burning zone (lower HR) or CARDIO zone (higher HR).

Good option with companion watch
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is pretty good option to utilize without a companion watch I could easily pair with my Android mobile, HTC one E8 But till now , polar beat app in iphone 6s does not pair even though iphone 6s shows as paired successfully in the bluetooth device list So still I am finding out whether its polar app issue in apple market or IOS 9.02 issue

Pairs easily with Strava
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this monitor to pair it with my Galaxy S4 and use it with Strava to monitor my rides. Set up took less than 5 minutes. Just had to turn on my Bluetooth on my phone and the app automatically detected the new device. Adjust well to my chest and its quite comfortable. I have used it on rides of 2 or 3 hours and has worked great.

Works great!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I got this instead of the H6 just because the price difference between that and the H6 is minimal. It does what it should - pairs very well with my Polar Loop and with other machines in the gym. There is little and minimal work involved in pairing, and you never lose connection unlike my experience with my old Polar sensor.

Works Great with my iPhone 4s and iPad 3!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love this toy so much. It's basically two parts -- an elastic belt that goes around my chest and a transmitter that snaps onto the front. You wet the side of the belt that touches your chest, snap the transmitter into the front and you're good to go. I like that better than the all in one units because when I am done with my workout I can unsnap the transmitter and be sure that the unit is off. This is compatible with regular 5 hz heart rate receivers, like the watch from my older Polar FS2C, or the display unit on the Velocity Rower that I use, so I can use both of those to display my HR while exercising. What makes this awesome, though, is that it also broadcasts my heart rate over low energy bluetooth. The good news is that that's a new bluetooth standard that uses less power than old bluetooth. The bad news is that it's only compatible, as far as I know, with the iPhone 4S and the iPad 3. It's theoretically compatible with some of the newer android phones, which are low energy or "smart" bluetooth compatible, but from what I understand, those phones don't have the drivers that they need to use this monitor at this time. (Since that's a software problem, I assume it will get fixed sooner or later, but have no idea when.) I love using this with my iPhone and iPad. When running or biking, I use the RunKeeper app to track my hr and pace. When working out in my basement, I use DigiFit on my iPad - the screen shows me my current HR, average, what "band" I'm in relative to my maximum heart rate and other stuff. Having that info displayed on the iPad helps me monitor and step up the intensity of my strength circuits and my rowing. Unlike some of the other reviewers, I haven't had any problems with pairing. The sensor paired the first time I tried. (Note - you pair from inside the Runkeeper and DigiFit apps, not from the general settings screen.) I love it, and highly recommended for people with the new iOS devices.

Step Up Your Heatlh Game
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Polar's H7 Bluetooth Heart Rate monitor is a great addition to your fitness tracking regime. It pairs with their line of Fitness watches, bluetooth enabled phones (which you can use with the PolarBeat app) as well as many pieces of cardio equipment at the gym. I use it every time at the gym to help track calories burned and heart rate to ensure I'm making the most of my workouts. It works every time and haven't had any issues with pairing. Like any other bluetooth enabled devices you will be limited to range, but otherwise it works great.

Great HR monitor
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I find this to be a very accurate heart rate monitor. It's comfortable to wear and the Polar app is a nice compliment for it. The only reason I gave it 4 instead of 5 stars is that it tends to disconnect more often than I'd like and I feel like it burns through batteries quickly with everyday use. But I think Polar makes the best HR monitors so I deal with it.

Works well, good product
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My only complaint would be the compartment to hold the battery can get a little worn out. I have had trouble opening it the last couple times to replace the battery and afraid it's going to wear down so I won't be able to open it.

Polar H7 worked great...for a while
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought the Polar H7 online and picked it up in the local Best Buy store. I was in and out of the store in 60 seconds and it was the best experience ever. The unit paired nicely via Bluetooth with my Samsung Galaxy SIII smartphone and Polar Beat app. I would have previously rated this item 5 stars because it worked wonderfully for almost 3 weeks but it died mid workout on day 19. I tried replacing the battery and attempted all the tips and tricks posted online to no avail; it simply would not pair with my phone again. After much frustration and disappointment, I gave up and returned it to Best Buy. This seems to be a recurring issue with these. Now I am back on the hunt for an accurate heart rate monitor. BTW, while the heart rate monitor itself seems fairly accurate (based on comparisons with other calorie-burn estimators) the companion Polar Beat app overestimates the calories burned by 30 - 40 percent.

Great product & easy to use
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The sensor and strap was very easy to set-up and even easier to use. I have had no reception issues. The unit works perfectly with my Polar RS300 heart rate monitor watch, iPhone and gym equipment. What holds be back from giving the unit a 5-star rating, is not the unit itself, but the Polar App that it links with. I would think that the leader in heart rate monitor development and long-term name in the health & fitness measurement business would have one of the better apps on the market. Sadly, the app is fairly basic, What it does, it does well, but it doesn't even allow customized workouts, like having an integral timer. Don't get me wrong, this is a great product and glad that I bought it. I just feel like Polar could offer even more.

Excellent bluetooth heart rate monitor for iPhone
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.First, I was very impressed with Best Buy's price matching policy for this purchase. I found the Polar H7 for considerably less at Amazon. I printed out the Amazon webpage and took it to my local Best Buy store where they matched the price with absolutely no grief. The Polar H7 works well with my iPhone 5 and the MapMyFitness, Wahoo, and Polar apps. You sync the Polar H7 from within the apps after turning on your iPhone's bluetooth option in settings. The Polar H7 connection is a little quirky and will not always reconnect with an app if you turn off and on the bluetooth setting, or close the app and open it again. But like I always tell my lovely wife when she has an iPhone problem… "Honey, just restart your phone and that will fix it". Here is a link if you are not familiar with the procedure: http://www.apple.com/support/iphone/assistant/phone/#section_1 When I run, I carry my iPhone in an iFitness fanny pack on my backside in order to make a good connection with my Arriva Leo bluetooth headphones. The Polar H7 works well with the bluetooth headphones and the fanny pack on my back. Once the Polar H7 strap drys, I store it in the fanny pack with the sending unit disconnected as recommended to save battery life. The only downside to the Polar H7 is the weight of the sending unit. If you don’t keep the strap pretty tight, it does tend to pull down during a run when you get sweaty and start breathing hard. Another positive though, is the fact that the Polar H7 will work with my old analog Pilot computer on my Lemond spin bike! I hope this review has been helpful. I have seen several negative reviews related to connection problems. The restart procedure for the iPhone should correct those problems if they occur.

Remember - NOT for Android; iPhone 4 & up ONLY
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a targeted product to those who are already running an exercise tracking app on their iPhone. Bluetooth Smart is a misleading name; it has no similarity to Bluetooth. (Other names for BT-smart are Bluetooth Lite or BT-Low Energy). The transmitter stays on until you unsnap the module from the strap, so unless you have stock in CR2025 battery suppliers, don't forget to dismantle it. If you want an Android-compatible HRM, go with Polar Wearlink+ or Zephyr BT (not BTE!). Finally, ALL BT or BTE HRMs are "line of sight". You will need to keep your phone in front of you - in a pocket or mounted on handlebars.
