Does just what I hoped
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this to track my heart rate while working out at the gym and while running on jogging trails. So far it has performed just as I'd hoped. At the gym, it automatically pairs with the equipment, allowing me to set workout goals according to my desired heart rate. While in the weight training area, the accompanying free app (Polar Beat) monitors my heart rate. While on the trails, the app gives me verbal real-time updates and it includes maps and certain other diagnostic information about my run. My other fitness apps (Nike+ Running and Strava) are both able to read the heart rate data and include it in their summaries. I had zero problems pairing the monitor to my iPhone 6. BTW, in case anyone is concerned, the strap is very comfortable and the monitor is light-weight. So much so that, upon opening for the first time, I feared it wouldn't work. My only complaint isn't with the monitor but rather with the Polar Beat app. The voice is very robotic and kind of annoying.

Works well with multiple apps or machines
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this to keep track of workouts on a rowing machine. It pairs easily and works well with multiple IPhone apps. An added bonus is that I can walk away from my phone across the room and my heart rate still remains active on the phone app. It also works with my Polar H4 watch. Only negative is the Polar app crashes and doesn't work at all.

Strap it on, lock and load
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. In tandem with a Polar Loop to monitor activities, I bought the H7 heart monitor. It's very simple to put on, around the chest. There's no display, it just clings next to your chest and monitors. When going to the gym, I was surprised to see the treadmill tell my heart rate even though I wasn't using its sensor. It had picked up the H7 automatically... of course, so did the treadmill 5 feet from the one I was on. :) I knew the recumbent bike I use has a Polar logo on it, but not the treadmill. So Polar is definitely a name brand when it comes to fitness gear. The software (Mac OS X, Windows, Android, iOS) is simple to install and use. Every heart rate change is recorded - and accurate with the Loop. That's why I got it, and I even wore it 24/7 a couple of days to see patterns. It's slick. If anything, the battery lasts 200 hours before replacing, is not easy to get out, and uses a standard 2025 watch battery. I've no complaints. The H7, works great on its own with compatible gym equipment, but with the Polar Loop as a conduit one can track so much more. It's no a con that one needs the Loop to really get the most use out of the H7, but it is two devices working in tandem, which still cost less than some other armbands that can't do a good job at recording.

great purchase
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was looking for a heart monitor and this one works like a charm. The Polar Smart Heart Monitor can be paired with the free app (same name) so you can track your heart beat while you work out. You don't need to purchase the Polar activity tracker (Huge plus! - I didn't want an activity tracker like Jawbone or Fitbit because I already have one) If you are at the gym and using the treadmill, elliptical, bike or step master, the machine automatically picks up your Polar Heart sensor and appears on the machine's controls. You don't even need to pull up your app. So far, totally worth it!

Excellent HR monitor
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Got this to go with my Polar Loop, which is perfect for what I do. I was also pleasantly surprised to see that the device also syncs with some exercise machines in gyms, all while keeping sync with my Polar Loop. So I get to easily monitor my heart rate by looking at the exercise machine while also knowing that all the data for my session is being collected by my Loop! "...Brilliant!!" The strap is easy to clean and isn't bad to wear, actually. Overall I would recommend to anyone, it definitely works for me.

Perfect and priced right
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I used a monitor for years that required a special watch. This also required more expensive batteries. This one is great and very accurate. The Polar App on my phone is very good showing my pace, map, times, heart rate, exercise target etc etc. VERY nice. I have recommended to everyone.

Love It !!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am a big fan of heart rate monitors, as well as a big Apple fan. This product was exactly what I was looking for. Strap on the heart rate monitor, sync it to your iPhone via Bluetooth, start the app, and your done. Walking or running around the neighborhood, it keeps track of heart rate, calculates my pace, and if hooked up to the Polar Personal Trainer website, you can see where you went because of your phones GPS. Perfect. Taking it to the gym has its benefits as well. If your on a Polar type elliptical or treadmill, your heart rate is displayed right there on the exercise equipment. I can easily stay within the heart rate zone I'm targeting. The latest version if the iPhone App (ver. 1.3) is not very reliable though. I had to restore the 1.2.1 version which for me works without any issues. Overall...I love it, and would buy it again without hesitation.

Bluetooth Heart Rate Sensor
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Polar H7 Bluetooth Smart Heart Rate Sensor works great and it sinks up to my app on my iPod. It keeps me on track with all my workouts. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a heart rate sensor. It works much better and is less costly than the Polar watches which don't always work so well. No need for a watch here. Just need an app for it to work.

I never workout without it.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love my Polar heart rate monitor. I initially bought it primarily for weight lifting to get a good idea of when I was hitting high impact levels of training which are obviously important both for muscle growth and reduction of body fat. The unit, when paired with my iPhone 5 and the free Polar app, is extremely accurate. I verified this by checking it against normal cardio equipment and the reading was very close. Now I know this unit can be utilized with other compatible software but I found Polar's app to be sufficient. It gives you the heart rate (obviously) and also adds in important stats like calories burned and distance, which I don't use since I do indoor training and it runs off GPS. If you want to track your indoor distance you can buy a "stride counter" but then again I would think the distance on the cardio equipment would be sufficient unless you have a lot of hang time when running. What I did notice is that the cadio calorie counter is insanely inaccurate. The LifeFitness equipment at my gym would register that I burned about 1100 calories over the course of an hour when the Polar app would say something more along the lines of 700-800. I trust the Polar monitor since heart rate is likely a better indicator than speed/distance/incline. Each person is going to vary in calories burned depending on how their body reacts to the physical stress. Sure there are built in heart monitors on the equipment but I personally prefer to go with the lower number simply because even when you don't use the monitor built into the equipment, that calorie function still registers the exact same number which means it is a static function, not based upon your individual workout. It is also really helpful to see how much you are pushing yourself when lifting... it's interesting to notice the different cardiac peaks that different exercises bring. It helps keep me motivated to push my level higher and higher. I've also developed some better habits like staying at the gym longer to reach specific goals (generally I try to get to 1k calories burned which is about 45 min cardio and a bit over an hour of lifting at my level). The app will also tell you when you have set a new record for distance or time which is another nice way to keep yourself motivated. I could keep going on and on as there are lots of positives about this unit. Def pick one up if you have the opportunity.

Very nice device
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The device works week with my Polar devices and is very accurate. I travel extensively and it takes up very little space. The strap is comfortable, easy to use, and cleans up easily. The only draw back was the material tearing where the hook attaches. A stronger material or a metal to metal / plastic to plastic hooking device might work better in the long run.

EXCELLENT AID FOR WORKOUT
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had read some so, so reviews but still decided on purchasing. I couldn'be happier. This thing works great, pairing is a snap, it is very accurate and really helps by interfacing with polars personal trainer app or any other workout app. I have been using it on mi ipad and it is as if i had bought a brand new treadmill. I put it in the front panel and instead of watching mediocre lights and lcd numbers i get excellent readings on real time with voice guidance from the nice free app to speed up or reduce speed. If i had known before of this sensor i would have not bought the watch as this is redundant now. I can use it on my ipad on the treadmill or my iphone outside, I really recommended. Even my wife is excersising now. It is addictive to see the number of calories grow on your log and to try and break records.

Comfortable, Versatile
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. You certainly can't go wrong with Polar. I purchased the H7 primarily to supplement a new treadmill purchase along with using it with my iPhone 5s fitness apps. The actual fit of the chest band is very comfortable and Polar made a smart decision to place a comfort tab below the clasp to prevent it from pinching your skin. Bluetooth connectivity is easy and consistent when paired with any device. So far, no dropped connection whatsoever. Now the tricky part. I cannot tell if it's the applications I use or if it's the H7 itself. However, I found that the heartrate tracking can sometimes be sporadic. One moment, I think I'm in the fat burning zone, then suddenly jump into cardio, then hit peak and then randomly all over the place. When I compare it to the heartrate monitor that comes with my Fitbit Surge activity watch, I find my watch is more consistent. However, it doesn't pair with any of my applications and the comparison may not hold any merit. Overall, I am satisfied and comfortable giving it five stars despite the odd hiccups. Every piece of tech has its issues, but the Polar H7 doesn't have many.

Does it's Job!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I not only love how easy it is to apply, but how durable and accurate the device is, when linking it to different devices. The price was very reasonable and I would highly recommend for anyone sinking a HR monitoring device.

Works as designed
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this sensor strap to upgrade to Bluetooth connectivity. Unfortunately, I didn't do my homework to make sure it worked with my Polar wrist monitor. This wasn't a deal breaker since Polar has a free app for iOS that this strap works with. I didn't have any problems pairing the sensor with my phone and the app picked it up without incident. Even though Polar's app to work with this strap is free, if you want any of the coaching features, they'll cost you a few measly bucks and can be purchased in-app, of course (did you think they wouldn't?). It works as well as any other Polar product I've owned - and I wouldn't continue to buy Polar products if they didn't work as I expected them to.

Heart rate added to my runs
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am using this with runkeeper so that I can see my heart rate, speed, and elevation changes after my run. It also works with my NordicTrac treadmill and polar HRM watch. I found that to get the Bluetooth to work on my LG tribute phone, I had to download and connect with the Polar App. Once I started that, it has no issue being found by runkeeper. The monitor that snaps into the chest strap is a little bigger than the one I replaced (lost during business trip). The size is not a problem. I keep one side always snapped to try not to lose this one. Overall, I really like having the data as it is motivational and helps change workout goals (constant hr, up and down hr, rising hr...)

Does the job
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a handy tool for anyone who wants to get an objective measure of their workout by measuring heart rate. 1. I wish it could sinc it to a wrist display besides my phone. When I am on a trainer or treadmill it's easy to look at my phone, but not on a bike or running on the road. 2. The battery died after the third use, in the middle of a workout. I changed the battery and haven't had a problem since. Does it keep on transmitting when it's attached to the band or does it turn off automatically? Directions don't say. Given all this, it's a good device. Easy to read, clear data output. Comfortable to wear. (No Velcro to scratch you)
