    Polk soundbar for loft

I purchased the sonos system for our family room & it sounds amazing. It was also pretty pricy for everything you need to complete the set. I wanted something for the loft that sounds good that wouldn't be expensive as this was just for the kids to watch movies & play games on. I can feel the base through the subwoofer like an IMAX movie! Best soundbar for the money in the midrange category

Love the soundbar. Great sound at first. Sub fell of the rails though .... make a lot of popping noises that are apparently because of wifi? according to manufacturer support... No firmware update has fixed it yet.

Let me start off by saying this is probably one of the best sound bars on the market unless you want to invest $1400 in a sonos system. BUT the reason for the title of my review is because I went from a reciever, center channel and 2 floor standing speakers where the sound is no where near comparable. You can never put that type of audio quality and crispness in a sound bar. So for all the sound bars out there it sounds great. A little finiquy as far as volume goes by that I mean it does not turn up the volume as fast as you hit the button. There is a delay especially with a harmony remote. But still has clear voices. The background audio is not as loud or noticable as I would prefer so hard to get a good balance and forget about reading the manual it's useless accept to tell you what ports are.

this is a great little set up and by the looks of the pairing system you might be able to pair the 2 satalites to make it a 5.1 system. The sound quality from the sub and voice bar together bring a full sound to a small to meduim room. It would be a great set up for a appartment.

I had the older version of this in the past and loved it! Easy setup and better quality then I have seen out of other soundbar units. I bought this for my new setup. Had some new features but overall the quality was still the great. If you want something that sounds good but not all the setup of a larger, more expensive setup, this is what I would recommend.

I purchased this for my husband for Father's Day at the suggestion of one of the employees. I have been very happy with my purchase. The sound quality is great and it was super easy to get working. We were surprised how inexpensively Best Buy offered it as many other stores were pricing it quite a bit higher. We have really enjoyed it and highly recommend it.

This has better sound and easier to setup than the $1,400 Bose system that I bought twice and returned twice in the last few years. Replaced a surround sound with avr system with this. Very pleased. Good price too. I seldom write reviews but I am very happy with this system. It gives you all the boom you need while still providing voice clarity

This sounds great even at high volumes. JBL really outdid themselves with this soundbar. The subwoofer puts out large amounts of bass that you can really feel. A little on the longer side for today’s soundbars but so worth the extra few inches. You can also pair this soundbar with JBL satellite speakers for true 5.1 sound.

This sound bar is really good! The sound is very good and nice and specialized for it being a 3 channel. I have had one problem it stopped working a few times with my TV, but I don't know if it was the sound bar or the TV HDMI ARC port.

This sound bar was probably the best money spent for my living room. I was originally looking for a home theater system but ended up purchasing this sound bar instead and you wouldn’t even know the difference if you weren’t looking at it. Great sound quality, easy set up, and works great with Bluetooth!

We purchased the Polk Magnifi 3.1 unit. Install took about 10 min. Took longer just to open the box and unpack unit. Once installed sound was amazing!! Great bass!! Great highs and clear voice for movie watching. Overall sound was perfection! Loved it. But then the bad happened. Roughly about an hour after installing unit, it started cutting out unexpectedly. We thought maybe cables were loose but everything was fine. As we streamed Netflix the unit kept cutting out then nextflix kept cutting out. I originally thought I had a WiFi network issue. So I troubleshot the router. Nothing wrong with it. So I assumed the internet provider was the problem. Called them and they said all was good. After googling if the soubdbar can interfere with WiFi I concluded the sound bar was somehow interfering with WiFi signal from router. To confirm my suspicion, I unplugged the Polk unit and low and behold no issues with WiFi. Apparently the unit broadcast at the same frequency as most routers do so it causes WiFi interference. I could not resolve the issue with modifications to router settings so I decided to return the Polk unit despite having amazing sound, and I went with a wired 5.1 receiver set up. Bulky yes, but it doesn’t broadcast a frequency and interfere with WiFi. Overall verdict, amazing sound system, but Polk ruins it by adding the wireless frequency that is same as routers. If only there was a way to disable the wireless setting and connect via cable, I would have opted for that but it does not have that capability. Because of these issues I would not recommend the unit. Unless you don’t have WiFi.

I was so happy when this sound bar and sub woofer went on sale. I think 500 dollars is a good price but if you can get it on sale the better. The sound quality is great and it is nice that it also links with blu-tooth devices. I would suggest this polk system to any one. There are better systems but they cost 1300 to 1800 dollars. I think this system is great.

Set up was easy. Love that it has 3 channels so we can switch between the dvd player, the cable box, and xbox. I can put it on movie, music and it adjusts. I have an open room concept and it sounds great while I'm in the kitchen. When I'm I sit on the couch sound wise, I can almost feel like I'm at the movies. Worth it to me.

The magnifi max is a great product. Easy set up and very good sound for a sound bar. The sub makes the difference. A real plus is the inclusion of an hdmi cable and a digital audio cable. That saved me a trip back to the store.

Was a little worried with some of the reviews I had read about this product, but considering the price and sound I heard in store, I gave it a go. Sounds great in my apartment so far! Love the bass, and the ability to hook all my other gadgets into it. Bought the surround speakers as well, and it's all running smoothly.

Soundbar has a great sound, and the sub woofer packs a punch. I had a 100 dollar Vizio Soundbar, and the difference between the Polk and the Vizio is night and day. The setup was an absolute breeze, and the volume controls on my LG tv remote worked right out of the box. Highly recommend this!

This is my first purchase and I gotta say....Wow! Just WOW. This soundbar is totally worth its money and will NOT disappoint. I am usually very picky when it comes to brands outside of Sony, Samsung, Vizio, LG, etc. Go and give this a go and you’ll know what I mean. Subwoofer delivers true bass almost to the shaking point. POWERFUL!!

We ended up purchasing a second one of these so we could have one in the living room and bedroom. We also purchased the rear speakers for surround sound. Some excellent features that I haven't seen on others would be the night time mode for late night listening and voice volume which allows you to turn up the spoken word volume but keep background sound and effects lower for those shows/movies where the dialogue gets too quiet. You can tie it into to your Google home to which is great for voice control or casting music. Only cons to date would be that sometimes our WiFi creates interference and can hear minor clipping in the subwoofer or rear speakers. Note that I only noticed this in the basement system once the rear speakers were connected and the subwoofer unit and that we use a WiFi extender in the basement.

I really wanted to love this Polk soundbar, and came close, but ended up returning it. The bass is big, raw, growly and gives a chest thumping, wall shaking, almost in-theater experience when watching action movies like Marvel's Avengers and Star Wars, etc. If you're looking for mega-bass, this might be the soundbar for you. There's so much bass that I often used the night mode feature during late evenings to avoid disturbing neighbors in my condo. The voice enhancement feature helps somewhat - good but not great. I'm in my sixties and hearing dialog clearly has become a challenge, and a voice enhancement feature is the primary reason why I was in the market for a new soundbar (dialog with my old Denon tends to get buried even with a voice setting on that model). Music playback also sounds pretty good with the Polk. It periodically goes on sale for $299, which makes it a good value, so if you really want it just wait for a sale and don't pay full price. However, the reason why I returned it is I had an issue with movies played back from both my disc player and AppleTV intermittently skipping back several or more seconds. This was completely random and could not be intentionally duplicated. Perhaps a defect or compatibility issue only occurring when using the hdmi connection through the soundbar, maybe with my particular brand/model of TV (LG), but no issue when connected through the optical port. Tried different hdmi cables and even different electrical circuits just in case. Tried the software upgrade and no difference. For reference, my old soundbar has no issues with the same devices connected via hdmi. Maybe it was just a bad unit, but since I was taking it back anyway, I decided to purchase a different soundbar with even more emphasis on voice enhancement.
