Your typical set of very and I mean very low-end bookshelf speakers. You are better buying used but higher quality speakers from the Craig's List or Facebook marketplace. Only get these if you are desperate.

Tinny, hollow sounding bookshelf speakers. They had absolutely zero bass, and the tweeters sounded if there was a sock over them. Consider the MB42X or the Sony SS-CS5 when they go on sale instead of these.

    Great Surround Speaker

I first purchased the T15 a couple of years ago because they sounded really good in the BB Store and they just fit perfectly into the Headboard in my bedroom. I connected them to a Pioneer VSX 1020K receiver for my Surrounds. Since then I have been really happy with them, so much so, that when I recently purchased a new Pioneer Elite VSX53 receiver for my living room and needed some surrounds, it was a no Brainer, the Polk T15's! So I have two pairs of these Speakers...Give them a listen and see what you think. Are they as Great as my new Bowers & Wilkins' 685's, of course not, but they also do not cost over $600.00 a Pair and I am using them as Surrounds. I would not use them for my Main L&R speakers in my living room (that's what my B&W 685's are for) but for Surrounds and possibly a Bedroom Main L&R, you could do a lot worse! In the proper use, I really like these little Speakers! They will take the biggest Surround Crashes, Pop's, Booms as well as subtle background nuances and just keep coming back for more!

    Great Results For the Money

As a long time recording engineer and having mixed film and television in Dolby surround for years, these speakers for home application are a great option. I am using these as L and R speakers in a surround sound system with the center speaker being a Definitive pro monitor 800. Being the center channel, it is imperative to have a high quality monitor, but the sides are less critical. This said, I was somewhat skeptical about such a low price option, but felt it was worth a shot. I replaced 2 Jamo tower speakers that cost me about $1000 for the pair and I am actually very impressed with the Polks. For the application they are excellent! I get floor space back and still have quality sound. One thing I should add is that Polk took a page from Bose and inflate the low end and modify the curve to make a smooth and rich sounding speaker. While these are not at the level of the Definitive monitors, they are excellent for the L and R speaker configs for those that want to save space and still get a nice quality of sound. Well worth it for under $100!

    Better than I expected

I was a little skeptical of these speakers because of the price, and because of some negative reviews I read. I can say that I'm extremely happy with these speakers after having them in my HT setup for a week now. I needed to replace some very large KLH floor speakers that were about 3 1/2 feet tall and were acting as FL/FR, and to replace some larger JBL bookshelf speakers that I was using for rear surrounds (one of the JBL speakers started buzzing after my daughter knocked one over and stood on the cone when she was a toddler). My center channel is a Polk Audio CS series speaker, and I wanted to finally get front and surround speakers to match. I listened to the T15s in the store, and I thought they sounded a little dull compared to the other speakers, but they were on sale for 50% off, so I figured I'd give them a chance and I bought 2 pairs. When I first hooked them up, I thought they sounded like there was a little too much high end, but I hoped with some break-in time, they would start to sound better. I did have to increase the level of my sub since these don't put out as much bass as my previous floor speakers did, but they still have pretty decent bass for such little speakers. After only 3 or 4 days, the speakers started to come to life. We watched Pacific Rim and I was blown away by how good these little speakers sounded. My kids have been playing some PS3 games that use a lot of surround, and they sound incredibly clear and life-like. As I said, I did have to increase the sub-woofer level a little bit, but that's only because my previous front speakers had more bass than they really needed and I had the sub down some. Overall I'm very happy with these. I was only hoping to get at least as good of a sound out of these as with my previous speakers, and they've ended up being much better. I'd recommend giving them some good break-in time. Once that happens, these are amazing speakers with clear sound that are an amazing value.

Best bookshelf speakers for under $100 out there

Dollar for dollar, you can't go wrong with these. I compared these to the other pair of bookshelfs under $100 at Best Buy (Pioneer#, and the Polks blew the Pioneers away. The next step up is double the price and more, and the sound improvement is very minor #mostly you get better bass with the more expensive bookshelf options#. I bought these along with a Yamaha RX-V373 receiver to begin my new surround set-up, and since I was going to move these to the rear after getting decent floor speakers for the front, it was an easy decision to choose these. More than sufficient for what you'd need with rear quality. While I waited for the front speakers, I did get to use these little babies out as my only 2 speakers. Not bad at all considering their size & price. Very clean/crisp sound you'd expect from Polk, and tight, decent bass but not chest thumping. I now have these complementing Polk TSI 400s as the fronts, a BIC center channel DV-32CLR, looking into subwoofers to perfect the experience #although the TSI 400s are pretty impressive bass wise if you live in a condo like I do). If you are more of a movie watcher, getting two pairs of these T15s for the fronts & rears, complementing with a center & subwoofer could be an affordable, yet very effective combination. I enjoy music as well as movies, so my set up with good towers for fronts works very nicely. As far as the T15s go...I couldn't expect any better performance from rear surrounds. Buy these and you will agree!

These speakers are great! They're perfect for my kitchen. They sound really good considering how compact they are. I'm surprised by how much bass they put out - I actually have to turn the bass down on my amplifier. Very happy with this purchase. I've had the speakers about 3 months.

Great sound from a small speaker

The speakers were easy to hook up. I had them going in just a few minutes. I turned up the stereo and had great sound that I have been missing from my old speakers. They have a great smooth bass and a crystal clear high. I am hearing things that I didn't hear at all in the old speakers and they were top of the line in teir time. I am very pleased wth these speakers. I have huge upright speakers in the adjoinging room that have a large bass speaker, a mid-range speaker and controllable tweeter. The Polk T15 speakers give me just as great a sound. I couldn't be happier.

Stole these from best by when they were on sale at Best Buy for $54. There still a pretty good deal for $109 for the pair. Have been listening to these for about two months now and are sounding better all the time as they break in. Using them as surrounds with a Yamaha sub and Polk Monitor 70's. The highs and mids are pretty nice. Unless you're an audiophile nut job, these will do fine. Never listened to these without a sub handeling the lows but the lows coming out are punchy. If you are into big base, then get tower speakers or add a sub, these are bookshelfs and not designed to shake your house down. Overall a great value for the money and they sound better with time, so let them break in.

Using them Two Ways in the System

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

I installed these on my Home System in two ways. First, I'm using them as front high speakers in my Marantz Surround Sound System. I have them mounted on both sides of my 70" flat screen above in the corners. My older center channel speaker died on me, so I used one of these Polks as a center channel speaker and it worked great. Then I wired two Polk T15 bookshelf speakers in series at 8 ohms to use as a Center Channel. They are laid on their sides, tweeters center and woofers on the outsides. These are front-ported speakers, so they can go into a cabinet as long as they face open air. To use them both as one 8 ohm center channel speaker, you simply connect both speakers to themselves via one positive to one negative on the other. Then you run the open positive and open negative on both speakers to your center channel connection. This is the only way to wire them properly to a center channel. If you connect them in parallel you will be running them at 4 ohms and that is a huge problem, so don't do it. We were really pleasantly surprised at the quality sound and performance out of these hundred dollar speakers. They are a great buy.

Polk is a brand that my friend highly recommended to me. When I did connect these speakers I was surprised to find how much sound they produced. They produced a surprising amount of bass for such small speakers.

I'm only giving this a 1 star because it wasn't compatible (wiring) with the turntable I bought and it didn't come with any cables/cord. Would have loved to try it out.

Big sound from a small speaker

I purchased two T15s, one T30, and two T50's as Best Buy had them all on sale. What an amazing set of speakers! Paired with a BIC F12 subwoofer and a high end Sony receiver, these speakers fill my room with excellent sound and all volumes. Crisp highs, smooth mids and even punchy bass (even with the subwoofer turned off), these speakers really deliver. I spent the next few days watching all of my favorite movies all over again. Excellent for rear channel speakers and perhaps even as main speakers in a smaller system.

Can't go wrong with Polk even their "low level"

Recently upgraded my home sound from 2 channel floor standing yamaha speakers with 12" woofers, 4" mids and 1" tweets and an old Kenwood receiver. Stepped up to a Yamaha RX-V365 receiver so i'd have equal disbursement of power to all 5 channels, and an LFE out. Went with Polk CS10 center, these T15's for the rears, a Polk PSW110 powered sub and kept the Yamaha's in the front because I haven't seen or heard much of anything that impresses me as these continue to after 14 solid years of use and perhaps even abuse. Anyway, these T15's are great. I got them on sale for $49.99 for the pair (i believe.. they were somewhere around 50% off during the holidays), and they're worth the full price, there is no question. I seriously thought about grabbing a 2nd set of these and another PSW110 sub for when I eventually upgrade to a 7.2 system. I use these as rear surrounds, but I've paired them up front with the sub and these are more than adequate for front speakers, if you have a sub. If you're fine with low bass production, these would work for a 2 channel system... You really just can't go wrong with Polk. I've been an audio enthusiast for many years and my ears are hard to please, but these between 50 and 100 bucks a pair are worth well beyond that. You can have great sound by a great speaker manufacturer for a low hit to the wallet. Superb.

just hooked these up to an onkyo 430 reciever to a 40 inch westinghouse tv with the onkyo subwoofer on my patio and my ears are still ringing :) . i have a small patio it all went on to, but my pool is 70 ft out in the yard and we like to hear the music while swimming so i went this way instead of a home theatre system and WOW . it puts my sony home theatre system from costco in the house to shame for less $$$ .the onkyo puts out 65 watts a channel i think about 74/100 volume , they were clear as can be , i didnt go higher because my ears couldnt take it and my wife was yelling at me to turn it down thru the sliders . same with the subwoofer on 50% power and 50% base. the wood construction and rubber mounts left no vibration on the glass top . i will never buy a pre made plastic home theatre system again .polk has made a believer out of me . and although the sub is big ,the speakers are small enough to fit sideways in the shelves onthe 3-tier stand 22 inch high . .i just mounted the rubber mounts on the sides . and thats 2.1 , the reciever auto picked that up , i dont need the extra 2 speakers out there .( i should say > i cant justify getting them to my wife lol )
