    Pleasant surprise!

Just bought a pair of these to be the main speakers for a little bookshelf system and couldn't be happier. Very clean highs, solid mid-range and (for the size) respectable bass. Overall sound is very clean and crisp. I would recommend these for stand-alones or for fronts on a 5.1 system. A solid value for $100.

Using 7 this speakers for 7.1 surround system

First I got 1 pair of Polk Audio T15 speakers as front speakers in 5.1 surround system. I liked the sound quality very much. After a while of my research, a lot of people suggests to use all the same speakers for 5.1 or 7.1 surround system (even for the center one). So I got another 3 pair of this speakers and built 7.1 surround system. I'm quite satisfied with this low budget surround system.

I bought these on sale and they are terrific for the price. I am so glad I bought them. Right now I'm listening to them without a subwoofer, so I fired up the Magic Flute on iTunes. My ears are filled with joy. Maybe these don't sound as good as a $600 pair of speakers, but I can't hear anything worth complaining about. It sounds like I'm sitting there in the theater. What else is there?

    Good Mid Range Speaker

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

These speakers are a great upgrade over standard box sets. They have decent range, but really shine in the mid range category. Highs can be unclear and lows are periodically inaccurate depending on volume, but that may be more to do with my receiver settings than anything with the speakers. These can swallow a center channel if your center speaker is smaller or low gain. As always, adjust your amp accordingly until you get the sound you like.

    Excellent for the $

I bought these and hooked them up to a Sherwood receiver, which is connected to my TV, DVD and iPod. The sound is good from my TV and excellent from my DVD and iPod. With my TV they fill in the base making listening more enjoyable. You will need a sub woofer to get the thumping lows from some movies. With my DVD and iPod listening to music the sound is excellent. I ran a frequency sweep to test these speakers. You can begin to hear base at 40 Hz. At the rated 60 Hz you can hear good base. These are excellent bookshelf speakers for the price!

these are perfect for a line array

Bought six pairs, two pairs for Atmos speakers in a Polk 7.2.2 setup. The other four pairs are in a sideways stereo line array. Each channel is two sets parallel then both sets wired series creating a 4 ohm load for the Amp. Amazing little critters and the price is right, these were on sale!!

    Very smooth sound

Pros: Looks good, sounds good, Cons: Good low freq response...but, add a subwoofer I am using a very clean Harman Kardon HK3400 receiver to power these speakers. At mid power, these Polks come alive and produce a non fatigue sound stage. Most small bookshelf speakers have cheap tweeters...these are the exception. The highs are very smooth with no shrill or ringing...just very pure and natural sounding. The mids are average for a speaker this size. The bass/woofer stuggles even with a front firing port. Don't expect deep bass...the woofer feels like it is overworked. So, I added a non powered subwoofer and tied it in. This helped out tremendously...esp at mid to higher volumes. I am using a 2.1 setup and it works great. Nothing beats a good speaker setup with an old school Harman Kardon amplifier. Worth $100, a steal if u got them for 1/2 price.

    Excellent Bookshelf Speakers for Office

Picked up a pair of T-15's this afternoon, to replace an old pair of Bose 21 bookshelf speakers. The Polk sound is far superior - much sharper highs and clean bass. Am running these off a Mac desktop through a Heathkit AR-29 stereo receiver that I built 40 years ago. The Heathkit analog amps, along with clean digital signal from a Mac is outstanding. Highly recommended as highly accurate monitor speakers for video or sound editing, or just plain musical enjoyment. Steely Dan's "FM" just came on. Really clean with solid but not overpowering bass.

    Amazing sound for price point

Black Friday special ($49.99) and worth EVERY penny! Purchased a set (qty. 2) and have them paired with my Pioneer receiver (VSX-D412) and 2 KLH 3-way floor speakers (Model 9250B) and they sound AMAZING!!!! They are attached via "wall-mount" and set to 5.1 surround @ 40watts @ 8ohms. I'm one to do a LOT of research before purchasing and seen plenty of mixed reviews. But went and listened to them in person....and WOW...better than the other sets I thought of purchasing (Klipsh,Boston,Pioneer). Superb quality, sound and performance you have came to expect from Polk Audio. Definitely worth looking into for the price point if looking to expand your listening profile with quality sound!!! Enjoy....I know I am

    Good Speakers Great Price

Bought the Polk Audio's to replace a pair of lower end surround speakers. The difference is amazing and actually more than I expected. You get a lot of 'symphony' from the surrounds, particularly while watching movies. The horns and strings are reproduced extremely well. For less than $100 for the pair, they are a great value. Highly recommended!

I got these speakers for $50 in Black Friday deal from BestBuy online. Speakers arrived on time, I connected them with my Yamaha R-S201 two channel receiver. They make an awesome pair and I was surprised with the sound quality from these compact yet powerful speakers. Worth buying...

    Good For Small Home Theater

For the price, this speaker is well constructed and an excellent value. No, it will not give you great bass and must be used with a sub-woofer. Mid-range and highs sound great for a speaker its size and price. Looks good in any room.

Ordered on Fri 3/27, received them before noon 3/31, great service. For a small package these speakers really have some low end punch. Highs are clear and pleasant. These were purchased a "b" speaker on my 2 channel stereo. They blend well with my 8" 3 way sony floor/bookshelf speakers.

I purchased these speakers recently and I really enjoy the build and sound quality. These are used in my computer room so space is tight. I have tried many brands but for the price these Polk's get the job done.

In reference to the post about the crossover

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

Hi, I just wanted to pop on hear and say that the guy below me with the hypothesis that adding a better crossover would help the sound, he is correct. While the speaker does what it is supposed to do very well, it does indeed sound like a new crossover will help a bit. So I did it. I put in a new bass blocking cap, (5MFD Sprague metal/film) and that soft dome tweeter really sprang to life while hooked up to my 18 Watt Class A tube amp. By no means is this pair a slouch, and if you can get them on sale its a ridiculous deal! I just wanted to let people know that yeah, a better crossover is gonna make 'em even better.

    Great Upgrade for the Cost

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

I’ve bought these speakers to replace my front speakers on a JBL’s home theater system. It was a very nice upgrade from those small speakers (150 Hz to 20 kHz) to a 2-way speaker (60 Hz to 24 kHz). I ghosted the center speakers and the sound improved 100%. I left the small JBL speakers as satellites only. No regrets so far. These polk speakers sound great and the sub gives an extra low for my rock and roll music. I am not a sound expert and I doubt I would have noticed a huge difference from these speakers to the $250 ones. The price is great for the value.

    Sweet and powerful

I have two pairs of these Polk T15s for use as surrounds with a Polk CS1 center channel speaker. They sound really sweet. The highs are clear and don't appear to be coming from any particular direction. The mid-range is powerful without harshness. I now hear detail in music that I had forgotten was there. Bass response seems to be about as advertised though, so adding a sub-woofer definitely helps for the extreme low end. At their normal price they're a good deal. If you can get them on sale, they're a steal!
