I have had these speakers since 2012,and I have decided to review them now after all these years I have had them. They are GREAT. I have put them through a lot of heavy use from watching Movies and loud Music, and they still sound great and running strong. I strongly recommend this, for the price, you won't be let down.

Good low end down to mid-bass and efficient because of the ported enclosure. Clean highs with the soft dome tweeters. No, this little speaker won't rock your world at the low end but that's what a subwoofer is for. Would make a great add-on or replacement speaker system for a bookshelf stereo. Remember, it's efficient. A few watts go a long way.

Good little speaker for surround. Have not heard them as a stand alone, but I'm sure from what I've heard with the surround system they would surely hold thier own.

I bought these speakers when they went on sale at the end of the year for $50. You have to let them break-in though. At first they sounded pretty bad, but the speakers started to open up and sounded better as time passed. With my subwoofer I didn't feel I missed out on much compared to a full range speaker. Without a subwoofer, you'll definitely notice the lack of bass, which is a given since these are only bookshelf speakers. For what it's supposed to be, these are great speakers for an incredible price.

I have similar but slightly more powerful Polk Audio bookshelf speakers (TSI100) in the family room & needed a 2nd set for the re-finished basement & saw these on sale/free shipping & took a chance. They are great...not much difference from the 1st set I bought. Verry happy with the sound quality & for this price + free shipping you just can't beat it.

Bought these speakers to serve as remote auxillary front channel speakers to my home theater because they were on sale for just under $50. Reg. price almost $100 more, so great value on a great brand. They sound great and can handle as much volume as I can send into them.

Purchased these after Thanksgiving for $49.95 (pair) to be used in the garage at our vacation home. Fills the space adequately and sound is good for the purpose. Compared them to a similar set of speakers from another room and the highs were there but couldn't match the bass. Still for the price and my use am very pleased. Hope they stand up to the elements as the garage hits the 90's (dry heat) in the summer.

I replaced some shot Phillips speakers with these Polks. They sound phenomenal, esp used in conjunction with my 8" 100w MTX Lolita. Now my Garage system really sounds nice!! It is important to try several cross-over frequencies to get a nice transition between the Polks and the subwoofer but once you do "Bob is your Uncle"!

I've been a music lover all my life. I'm seriously happy with these. I tried 2 sets of the Insignia and took them back and got the Polks, what I should have done in the first place. I bought 2 sets for front and rear surround. Purchaced a Denon AVR-1912 receiver. I have a Polk sub-woofer PSW110. This combination sounds excellent.

I needed to upgrade the speakers I got with a Sony compact disc receiver. Sony's were not bad but the Polk speakers made all the difference. Polk audio was a big name years ago like Fisher and today it’s Altec Lansing and Bose. Space was an issue and looks are a huge factor to me. They do the job and look good doing it.

I hooked these up to my system for the surround speakers and my living room came alive. My cat is constantly chasing birds that don't exist, and I find myself turning around thinking someones behind me because of the realistic sound. They sound great.

I bought a pair of these bookshelf speakers on Black Friday 2012 at 50% off for my home theater and after listening to these I wanted another set. So Black Friday 2013 I found these 50% off again and picked up another set. These speakers are a very good value and a steal when on sale.

    Recovering big-speaker guy

I was always a big-speaker guy before. My college/bachelor setup had 15's in the front and 12's in the rear with a powered sub. These have been backed by a Denon 1613 receiver and that same ol' Aiwa powered sub. They sound pretty good. My windows aren't rattling. And the police aren't on their way. But my movies sound excellent.

Needed an extra set of speakers for another room. Wasn't looking for main speakers. These fit the bill perfectly! The sound quality was excellent for a small set of extra speakers. (have them set behind chairs in the living room) Good full sound. for black Friday special of $49 for the pair and a good name like Polk..how can you go wrong!!
