I had my doubts on this, but pulled the trigger based on reviews. I was still shocked at how well this works and stays put. I live in the mountains and there are some rather bumpy roads to contend with, It basically never moves and stays right where you put it. Makes it easy to adjust if needed. Also easy to remove from vehicle or to store out of sight if need be. I wasn't sold until I tried it, but works fantastic. I'm still a bit mystified how well it works based on hat it is.

Item has a flexible rubber base that will allow it to fit flat surfaces or easily be adjusted by hand to fit curved surfaces. No need for any adhesive to permanently stick this device to your dash as its soft rubber base will provide firm, steady support for your GPS during local or freeway driving. GPS easily pops on and off mounting device, so both the GPS and its mount can be quickly removed from the dash for easy storage whenever desired. Tried two other lesser mounting devices before buying this one. Problem solved. Highly recommend.

Garmin- Portable Auto Friction Mount was easy to use. Provided not slip feature. Easy to store when not in use.

The stand is sturdier than I initially thought it would be. It does not slide on the dash like my older Garmin beanbag stands do. The hinging arm allows my 7-inch Nuvi to vibrate lots. I minimized this by lowering the arm to where the Nuvi rests on the rubber base. It's lower than I like but feels more stable overall. I am nervous about the slightly tacky base eventually leaving residue behind on the dash if left in a hot car for long periods of time.

I love not having big suction cup marks on my windshield. This item stays in place and doeznt move when i take curves. Highly recommended!

Heavy, and with a non-slip bottom. It works and stays put, much better than having the Garmin sitting in the middle of your windshield!

This Garmin friction mount works great. Set it where you want and you don't worry about it falling. Holds the gps just where you want it.

Wanted to permanetly mount the new Garmin in the center of the dash, AND hardwire the unit. This allows me to simply unplug the GPS and remove the unit out of the truck. No fuss. No muss.

Hard to get excited about GPS mounts except when they don't work very well. This one is perfect for the device: right size, right weight.

Works perfectly on the flat spot on the top of the 2014 Subaru Outback dashboard. Sort-of-sticky bottom really works to keep it in place. Still easy to pluck off the dash and program another destination into the Garmin, and then set the whole unit right back in place. So much better than the windshield mount that comes with the Garmin.

I bought this for my Garmin GPS and did not have room for a permanent circle. Vibration will sometimes make it hard to read, and I haven't had it long enough to clean the dash yet, but when I remove it, the dash is shiny where the sticky substance was.

It works very well and it doesn't slide forward. This base has a very solid weight and silicone grip bottom to hold the GPS very securely.

This is the second one I have owned and it works perfectly for what I need better than the suction cup that comes with the GPS.
