Compared to using the disk the friction mount seems like a good alternative. The disk gave me trouble at time as the suction would not hold.

This product was purchased to go with my Garmin. My husband had one that came with his. So I purchased me one. We drive a lot and use GPS everyday.

Need to be careful not to let the sticky bottom collect dust, etc. Need to be careful to place on its side when putting under seat, etc.

Very easy to use and I have no problems with it staying in place. Easily adjustable.

Although somewhat large to stow away probably one of the better products out there to hold a GPS vs the windshield. I got for my wife's 2016 Accord w/o nav to place in the lower display area. Works with smaller GPS's for that. It does vibrate a little when placed on top of the dash (depending on road) but will stay in place no matter what. Only used for Garmin.

I love my Garmin dash 35 but did not want to put it on my windshield. This worked perfect and I was able to use the dash cam with this mount.

no more falling GPS while driving due to suction cup fail due to heat. wish it had a channel to hold cord and keep in place when GPS put away. Tried to snake cord thru opening at base and swivel but too tight to fit angled connector thru. otherwise happy with product. used it for long road trip no issues.

Friction technology is perfect. Only complaint is neck doesn't allow you to turn GPS left/right a huge deal.

It works, was sceptical but extremely glad i bought it. Get one!!!!!! It will not fall off the windshield at the most inconvenient time like suction cup.

I changed vehicles at one point and came to realize that the windshield mount no longer would work for the new car. So I either had to give up on having a Garmin with a dashcam or find an alternate mount solution. This thing is incredible! It doesn't seem that sticky when you set it on the dash but yet it is rock solid in most normal driving situations.

This is the 2nd one I bought as the other broke after 5 years of travel and being tossed around in rental cars/luggage. Will take better care of this one.

I say that because here in el paso it gets hot. And the windshield gets even hotter. I had the one mounted on the windshield and they kept falling down. Or the rubber melts to the windshield making a mess of things. It wont move unless you move it. bendable and with wings you can bend for different dash designs.

Used suction cup mount but that would fall off the window without warning with temperature changes. This base has a very solid weight and silicone grip bottom to hold the gps very securely. My only real issue is visual because the base seems flexible but won't curve to form to the top of the dash. But I wouldn't hesitate to buy another if I needed it just based on function.

This is by far the easiest and best looking friction mount I've used. It's well balanced and sticks well even with dust on the dash.

I use this with my portable Garmin. It fits any car dash. Great if you travel and change cars frequently.

Mount holds my 7" GPS perfectly. Just bought a new car and it transferred to the new vehicle easily. Molds easily to almost any dash.

I've had garmin bean bag mounts for years and with a sharp turn, they and the gps would be flying off to the passenger seat. With this one, it has withstood both my wife's and my driving and hasn't budged. The only downside is instead of picking up the whole assembly to put in an address we now have to release the gps from the cradle to enter information.

Bought this as a replacement for a suction cup mount in my company van. Unfortunately, there is not a very good place for it to sit out of the sun. (Ford Transit van) It stayed right where I put it, even on a very uneven surface. Just couldn’t see the screen for the sun. Gave it to my son in law, and he loves it.
