got tired of window mounts falling off on hot days. saw this as something smaller than the beanbag dash mounts. this mount stays put on the dash decently even when i'm driving on switchbacks out in the country. my only complaint is the fact that my GPS unit jiggles around when i'm on bumpy roads. also the sticky side on the bottom leaves the dash shiny on where it sits leaving a mark.

This is their top of the line dash mount and I really wasn't planning to spend this much, but, the lesser cost model didn't have the same nice weighted feel. I keep the included suction mount as a "just in case" spare, but, I didn't want to keep removing it from my windshield. The dash mount makes it easy to stow away when parking so that you're not advertising the fact you have a GPS unit stashed inside your car. The base is a bit flexible to form fit it to any curves on your dashboard. Before using it, wipe the dash area clean using rubbing alcohol to help keep the dash mount in place (read this in the instructions). The base is tacky to help keep it in place, but, do be mindful if making any sudden sharp turns to just place a finger on the base because the base is not glued to your dash (I had to react fast while making a U-Turn a bit too fast than I should had). This model is worth the money vs. the lesser cost models I had seen.

Works much better than the suction cup mount that comes with the Garmin GPS. Much easier to read and you don't have to worry about it falling off the windshield.

Great product works well in my wifes car. Hard to ffine product. A little expensive for a peace of plastic.

The mount fits my gps and does not move around the dash when you mold the bottom to the contour of the dash, works

I bought this gps holder for my Accord dashboard on a labor day sale. I got it for just over $10, a steal, isn't it. I bought this as an alternative for the vacuum one (sticks to windshield) which is illegal in some states. This does sit snuggly on the dashboard surface even though it is not perfect flat. I like my purchase as it was a good buy. If you are not so keen on aesthetics, I can recommend this product to you because it doesn't beautify your dashboard and is bit large.

Although all edges don't stick down, this GPS holder works very well!! It doesn't slide or move at all.

While I was living in Arkansas, using the included suction mount was perfectly acceptable. However, once I relocated to Alaska I learned quickly that the cold renders it entirely useless. I purchased this friction mount as a replacement, and I couldn't be happier. When we purchased a second Garmin unit, I bought another friction mount along with it. Highly recommended no matter the climate.

I was tired of my gps falling off the windshield all the time. The suction cup just would not stay on the windshield. I was afraid that the screen would be damaged when it fell. I purchased this product to anchor the gps from moving. It sticks real well to the dash and does not move. A very stable holder for my gps.

Easy to install, works great, very stable platform for my Garmin GPS.

This mount is very stable on the road, but make sure that your dash has enough flat space to keep the GPS from moving, and that it doesn't raise the unit so far as to block your vision. My main use for this mount, however, is on my desk, where I can charge my units and/or connect them to my PCs. The mount is not high enough to operate a large GPS vertically in 'portrait' mode.

Better than the suction cup style. It stays put and is easier to reach.
