Purchased this mount for my new Garmin gps unit because I did not want to fix it to my windshield. Works great! It's heavy enough where it does not slide around and when I exit my vehicle I can just put it in my glove box or counsel to keep it out of site. Great product!

I needed a mount for my new Garmin GPS and did not want to use the window mount that came with the Garmin. The Garmin portable friction mount has worked out great. It doesn't leave any sticky residue on the dash and the connector folds down for easy storage in the glove box.

More compact than the sandbag version Garmin made. Put it where you want it to go and it stays put.

I like the fact its weighted enough to sit in the middle of the dash and doesnt fall off but I can see if left sitting on dash too long its going to leave an impression or outline but other than that it does its job well holding my Garmin 6I.

Just got a different car and this product works much better than the suction cup option. This same mount also comes packaged differently with a carry case, which might be nice to have...so look for different packaging if you would want that. For those not wanting the extra cost or case, buy this one.

Tried a number of different GPS mounts and decided to keep this one. Because of the make of the car it sits fairly far back on top of the dash, but that's not the mounts fault. The friction material on the bottom holds the GPS in place well.

Sets great on my dash. The height is a lot better than my old bean bag type one.

Works surprisingly well on the dashboards I have used it on. I rent cars a lot and usually use the Garmin suction cup when a glass surface is available, but this works just as well when no glass surfaces are available.

This is my second... the first had something like a suede base to keep from sliding... eventually got polished and lost hold. This one has a tacky plastic like surface and so far is holding.

I bought this when I bought the GPS as an alternative to the suction cup mount that came with the GPS, never used the mount that came with it. It seems to hold the GPS quite well and stable plus less fear of damage then the factory mount .

Can use my sun screen, since it is not on the windsshield. Much better than a windshield mount.

I cut it to fit a slot for my gps...................

It's actually a pretty sturdy GPS mount. I have only had it fall over twice. Both times I accidentally took sharp turns too fast. Normal driving speed or even a little over does not effect it's position at all.

Garmin GPS snaps on easily. Unit sits high enough to see easily, yet doesn't block driving view. The reason I gave it 4 stars is because it sometimes falls off the dash, especially when making a sudden stop. Also, I had to modify it to reverse it to fit my car dashboard.

This friction mount does a great job in keeping my GPS in place on my dash.

So far seems a lot better to keep the gps on the dash than the suction cups. I like the way the bottom bends to follow the contours of the dash, and stays where you put it. The bottom is soft and sticky, it will be interesting to see if it stays that way long term.
