For some reason you have to click the station down to get the charge to start. Sometimes if you do this and the controller is already charged it seems to draw power from the controller and you end up with a dead battery. I am not sure why this happens. It usually works fine but occasionally i pick up the controller and it is completely drained. If I had a do over I would look at another charging station
