It comes with special batteries and battery covers for your controllers, so it isn't compatible with standard battery packs from what I could tell. On top of that, it's frustratingly difficult to get your controllers to actually charge on it. While it gives you the sense you need to put the controller in the cradle and push down to lock it in for charging, that's just not the case. The push/lock feature is wholly unnecessary as it just sits on the cradle anyhow, and even then has to be fidgeted with in order to get the charge indicator to come on. I prefer my other system which charges standard battery packs in the machine and allows them to be switched out as needed.
