This was a reasonable way to have an extra controller when we need it, without spending too much for something that wasn't going to be used all of the time. My kids are used to the gaming controllers, so they actually prefer using this over the switch controller. They are able to enjoy the game better because they are used to these types of controllers. My kids don't mind that the controller is wired, as they are playing.

a great controller

We are having zero issues with the controllers being wired and slung across the floor. I don't see us ever spending the additional money on a wireless controller. It is lightweight and very comfortable for my 8 year old. Controller has a headphone jack and mappable buttons, neither of which we have tried. I was initially worried about 3rd party controllers, but we have had zero issues with this.
