You get just about all the functionality minus the rechargeable battery (which might not be a negative depending on the person) and Amiibo/NFC. What you do get though is the ability to remap certain buttons to the programmable two on the back. Unfortunately it does not support the thumbstick buttons. Solid option as an alternative to the official controller.

(Mario Kart 8 is great!) However, because I am so used to the controllers of other systems, this controller feels most comfortable to me. It takes batteries, which has pros and cons to it, and a couple extra buttons on the back that can be assigned (but I haven’t used that feature yet). Overall, this is a great alternative to the tiny controllers that come with the Switch.
