Customers are saying

Customers enjoy the wireless connectivity, nostalgic feel, and compatibility of the GameCube Style Wireless Controller for Nintendo Switch. They appreciate that it resembles the original GameCube controller and works well for playing Super Smash Bros. However, some customers are disappointed by the lack of rumble and the fact that it runs on AA batteries.

The quality feels ok at best. The main problem with this controller, is that it has been poorly designed. Right after opening the controller and playing for about an hour or two, I found two issues: 1- there is noticeable lag when using the C stick for tilts. 2- after an hour of using it. The A button started to get stuck.

    Almost Perfect

The product speaks for itself - get a classic controller you’re already super familiar with, that’s fully compatible with all the new features a Switch controller needs to have. Being that this is a exact replica of the original controller, plus a few additional buttons, and motion sensors, there isn’t much to question here. I would LOVE to say it’s a perfect 5/5 star product - but there’s two things that just can’t be overlooked, and one would be baffled that PowerA could be so foolish to overlook them themselves... Con 1 - No Rumble.... while not a true necessity, it’s just a bit of a disappointment to not include, and you really can’t help but wonder why, when other Switch controllers are smaller and still include Rumble features. Con 2 - Used AA batteries, not rechargeable... I didn’t know this was even a possibility in 2018, to make a wireless controller that ISNT rechargable... not since Xbox360 over a DECADE ago, have we faced this problem. Maybe they’ll hear our complaints loud enough to redesign in the future with rechargability.... but for now, be prepared for a little bit extra nostalgia, in the sense that you’ll be stealing your TV remote batteries and any other appliance you can, to keep the game going. I’d hate to have to buy the same controller twice to get a rechargeable one - but I’d rather a once time expense than to keep having to buy batteries over and over again for years to come. All in all tho - it’s a fantastic controller, and like millions others in sure - I’m extremely grateful that Nintendo allowed someone to make this awesome controller, cause when it comes to Smash Bros, for many, this IS the official controller of the game.

A really cheap controller. The buttons stick and it drifts like crazy. Bought them to play super smash but ended up returning them within a week. Tried to find a replacement for the ones i got when i bought smash but i would rather go get a used set then every use these to be real.

The buttons, especially the d-pad, feel very cheap and almost gummy after a few days of using them. As if they’re deteriorating somehow. Also there is a massive drift in the left analog stick making it nearly impossible to use.

The left joystick controller stopped working after 2 weeks. I tried to exchange the product but because I didn’t keep the original packaging they wouldn’t accept an exchange. Disappointed to have spent that much and the quality was so poor.

It's faster than the actual gamecube controller

For someone like me who has the main focus of this controller as being simply accurate, I am a very happy customer. Lets get the following out of the way first: Pros: Accurate, Responsive, Snappy, and Clicky! (If you don't like gamecube controller noises, this is NOT for you) Extra buttons, pushable joysticks, surprising accuracy with the motion controls (as tested on Splatoon 2) and very comfortable. I don't mind any of this but I'll list this as Cons for the average consumer: No NFC, No Rumble, No Charging, Uses AA Batteries, Very Lightweight. This is faster than using an actual gamecube controller with the adapter. As tested on 720p settings, this has less of a delay, which is very surprising. As such, I use it when playing Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. If any of those cons bother you, don't consider this controller.

Save your money. As soon as i opened it the joystick was already drifting, power A controlers have a cheap film inside the joystick sensor which causes this is in all of them after a while.
