Customers are saying

Customers enjoy the wireless connectivity, nostalgic feel, and compatibility of the GameCube Style Wireless Controller for Nintendo Switch. They appreciate that it resembles the original GameCube controller and works well for playing Super Smash Bros. However, some customers are disappointed by the lack of rumble and the fact that it runs on AA batteries.

Great controller if you like the Game Cube style

I was never a Game Cube player, but with all the hype about Smash and how easy is it with this one, I picked it up. It's a well made controller. It is a good bit lighter than the pro controller, which was a little off putting for me, but that's just preference. It's wireless and connects perfectly with the switch. Has good range as well. After playing Smash with is for quite a few hours, I personally didn't see any real difference in game play. As a matter of fact, I found myself using the A button (it's so much bigger than the other ones) much more, which limited my attacking. Plus, the button configuration feels ever more awkward with other games. Bottom line, if you had a Game Cube and like that style, you'll love this controller. If you didn't, go with the other PowerA controller that mimics the official pro controller.

One of my favorite Switch purchases.

In my opinion, the Gamecube controller is the most comfortable controller ever created. I like this product as opposed to the Gamecube adapter most are using for Smash Bros. because this controller can be used outside of Smash and has full functionality for the Switch menu (as well as being wireless). I do wish the controller had rumble built in, but other than that I am 100% satisfied with the purchase. I've even ordered a second one for friends.

I love it, perfect for Smash!

I have felt and used a Gamecube controller before and I honestly need a wireless and cheaper alternative to the switch pro controller for the upcoming smash. I was worried that this controller wouldn't live up to it. And luckily, i was very very wrong! It may feel light but, its feel and the whole aesthetic of the controller is just amazing.

    Modern Upgrade to a Classic

Works perfectly and the motion control present on the latest version works very well with games such as Splatoon. Also has a ZL button like other modern controllers which is great. If you prefer the button layout and the control stick notches of this classic controller (as I do for smash bros.) and want to lose the nuisance of wires then this is a must buy.

    Drifting issues

As others have mentioned I keep having drifting issues. I've tried: Recalibrating: It doesn't have the technology to properly recalibrate Disconnecting: Sometimes works Taking the batteries out: Doesn't work Turning the console off then on: Works best but is annoying. It only seems to be getting worse. I'm thinking about buying a hub for my old controllers or an overpriced "official" Nintendo controller.

Terrible for Melee Players --DELAYED INPUTS

Melee Players beware!!! If you think this is a nice substitute for smash ultimate you would be wrong. Huge latency for inputs. I was better off sticking to the Joycons. Returning this and picking up a pro controller until i can find a gamecube control adapter.

    Super Disapointing PLEASE Read

Had a right trigger problem and a worn out analog stick grip (with heavy discoloration on it and the c-stick) in under a month after around 40 hrs of Smash usage. Plastic feels crazy cheap and the triggers have a LOT of give. I did like the slighter taller/bigger c-stick on it and didn't notice lag. The dpad is bigger as well but misreads as much as any 1st or 3rd party Nintedo crossbar dpad. If you're dying for wireless get the Nintendo wired GC controller with a 8bitdo receiver. IF YOU DO BUY THIS get insurance.

Great controller... until it stopped working

I loved this controller when I first got it, but less than a month in I started to notice the connection would drop out a lot, and the joystick input started to suffer. It steadily got worse until it stopped working entirely after about 2 months. I'm not some controller-throwing freak too, I take really good care of my stuff. Luckily I got the protection plan, so I got my money back. It's a shame, but you'd be much better off getting the wired Gamecube controller adapter

    A button wore out

It was a great controller initially, but less than a month in and the 'A' button is worn out. When I press it down it often doesn't pop back up.
