Learn from our mistakes though, and make sure to attach the joycons per the picture on the top of the device - there is a specific layout/configuration even though they'll attach any reasonable way - otherwise the joycons won't charge properly.

Great for those who have extra sets of Joy-Con

Since the Switch will only charge 1 set at a time while it's in the dock, this allows for charging multiple controllers at a time. Also nice to have when going to a friend's house to play. This is not needed if you only have one set of joy-con controllers.

I previously just charged the joycons on the switch itself which is docked 99% of the time inside my tv stand. This charger keeps me from accidentally undocking the switch when I go to get the joycons out. Added bonus is that I can charge all 4 of my joycons at once in case we want to play with visiting friends. It doesn’t take up too much space either.
