If I had to do it again, I would pony up the extra money for the Charging Grip which feels better and provides extra functionality.

This has different contours in the grip compared to the original product. There is a nice soft rubber material with texture, but otherwise I dislike the feel of the grip. The latch for holding the joycons is loose and they can fall out.
