Design issues, lower-quality.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is NOT the grip that came with the console. It has design issues that make it feel like PowerA, who normally does decent work, misses the mark (maybe they were rushed?). Issues: (1) the Left Joy Con insert is very tight, while the Right Joy Con insert is slightly loose and rattles, especially when vibrating. (2) The grip handles are made of a soft plastic that bends away from the Joy Cons as you play; it simply doesn't feel solid in your hands. (3) The grip's middle, vertical bar is thicker in the back than Nintendo's. As a result, the space for your fingers to press the back pins to release the Joy Cons is rather small and uneven, like they flat out forgot to design around the function. This Grip is a bad start for Switch accessories, since the only 1st-Party-manufactured Grip available right now is the Charging one at twice the price for an unnecessary charging feature (thankfully, it feels exactly the same as the console-included Grip, FYI).

Color doesn't match, very cheap feeling plastic.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The color doesn't match the red joy-cons. It looks much darker, so the contrast of putting my red set of joy-cons in this looks like red next to burnt orange. The backside is also black instead of it being completely red. The plastic feels cheap, and the Nintendo one that came with the system is far superior, and is the same price! Do not spend your money on this.
