Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I only wanted a charging dock for one controller, but I couldn't find any, so this is what I went with. I don't normally go with third party brands, especially where charging accessories are concerned, but considering that this is Sony certified, I figured it was a good alternative to their dock. I wish this was Type-C, like other charging stations I looked at, but I love that the AC power cord is detachable from the unit. That's great for storage if, for example, you're moving or need to put away all your electronics for a while. Major plus there, but minor minus for not having Type-C power. It's just a standard cylindrical plug in the bottom of the unit. The other thing I found kind of iffy is the stability. You need to be gentle putting your controller into this cradle. And it absolutely has to be on a flat surface like a desk or an entertainment center table. Otherwise, your controllers will likely fall off. But this is entirely situational, so I'm not too upset about it. My setup can accommodate it just fine. Lastly, there are no indicators on this charging station to show whether the controllers are charged. Not a big issue if you only have one controller like I do, but it can get annoying if you have two. You can't really position it someplace where you can see the lights on both controllers. This is only a minor complaint, but combined with everything else, I've decided it deserves four stars instead of five. More stability and perhaps charging indicators on the sides would earn this dock 5 stars from me.
