I took this back and use basic cord that I have from one of my many cell phones. It works fine and it was free.

There was no ferrite cilinder to protect against eletrical surges when you can clearly see it in the pictures. The employee at the store told me that it was the only one they had and that it was the exact same product, what frustrated me even more. I'm very disappointed with BestBuy after this.
