I played and hated Demon's Souls and Dark Souls 2, they controlled horribly and just weren't fun, but this game handles awesomely and actually gets easier as you level up, unlike the DS series. I played about 10 hours of DS2 and thats only cuz I kept dieing and beat 4 bosses i think, this game i am on NG+ and still loving it.

One of the worst games i have ever played this year.

Bloodborne is one of the best reasons to own a PS4 right now. This game, while beautiful and fun, will knock you in the dirt over and over. Needless to say it is not for the weak at heart. I waited until I had beat the game entirely to write this review. I can honestly say it was one of the most rewarding games that I have ever played. The story is fed to you in very small doses but has very nice twists along the way. Make sure to do a lot of exploring! There are many hidden items that can help you along the way. I took my time playing through the game and found everything there was to find. ( at least I think) I probably put nearly 80 hours into the game. I just booted up new game plus and I am having just as much fun the second time. Although the second playthrough seems to be a bit easier. So, if you enjoy a fair challenge then you should buy this game.

I absolutely love this game. The ambiance that From Software has created in this game is incredible. Graphics are top notch, game play is smooth, and an intertwined world. Definitely my favorite of the year. This game, however, may not be for everyone. It is most definitely not easy. If you like games that are full of fluffy clouds, rainbows, and reloadable saves, this game is not for you. Dying in this game is not occasional, it is frequent. If you're not prepared to play a game that has an intense learning curve, Rocket League might be more up your alley.

I own basically every game thats worth owning and so far since the ps4 launch I really think this is overall the best. The only thing people can complain about would be it's not very easy to get into and learn the combat if you never played the souls series which wasn't the case for me this being the fist From Software title I've ever played and the combat is great, very challenging but great and very fun. The world of Bloodborne is just stunning. The frame-rate does drop at times but never anything major. All in all i'd give this a solid 9.5 out of 10 because the story is bizarre but in a wonderful way, the boss battles are some of the most intense I've ever played on an action rpg and the combat is excellent. Best game of the year so far

I previously played Demons Souls and Dark Souls and loved them. Since the same team made this game, I happily gave it a try and here is what I thought. *************************************************************************PROS************************************************************************************************** -RPG/Gameplay mechanics: Gameplay is what makes this game the most appealing. It allows you to customize your character design and class. And you have chosen your character, it gives you option how to level the character up in terms of whether you want to invest more in character's strength, stamina, health etc. It provides your character with a variety of moves and forces you to use them in strategic way to overcome different challenges. -Gorgeous Scenery and Creative Openworld Design: The open world in this game is fairly huge. While different areas can be accessed in somewhat linear manner, it gives you plenty of choices to create shortcut between different areas. Depending on how you play, you can also access certain areas early on in the game to get better weapons and items and even skip areas/bosses if you just want to finish the game. Overall the open world in this game promotes exploration by hiding different bosses and items in different corners of the world. -Horrific Bosses and Unforgiving Enemies: The enemies and bosses are really nicely animated in this game. They truly give the feeling of horror. True the bosses and enemies in this game can be challenging in the sense that they can do quite a lot of damage to a low level character. But once you figure out tricks to defeating them, the experience becomes quite rewarding. And there is always option of leveling up and/or taking help from other players to clear a level. Trick weapons and guns: This is one of my favorite aspects of this game. I loved the different trick weapons in this game. The way they transform is simply amazing. Transforming them gives them different set of moves/ability. Plus when they transform the sound they make is pretty nice. Online multiplayer: In this game you can co-op with other players to take their help or help them to clear a level. Alternatively you can challenge a player/ a group of players to gain blood echos (the currency of this game). This is very creative online design. Loved it. Dungeons: In addition to the main story, the player has option to explore different dungeons. Player can create their own randomly generated dungeons or join a dungeon created by a different player. Dungeons have unique loots/rewards making this experience optional but yet rewarding. Lasting value: It will take you long amount of time to complete the story itself but if you attempt to defeat all the bosses including dungeon bosses this game can easily last 100 plus hours. Re-playability: As if above is not enough, you can always start a new game plus keeping most of your item/equipment and current level and refinish the game taking on to the tougher version of enemies and bosses. *************************************************************************CONS************************************************************************************************** Later game scenery/Dungeon multiplayer/player matching: I loved the scenery in the very early game when the character in town. I didn't like how later in the game it becomes similar to souls games. Dungeon multiplayer works but sometimes it can be difficult to connect with other players. It becomes really difficult to connect with other players if your level is too high. Though I have to say compared to previous souls games I actually liked how this game connected with you with other players and with different patches they are fixing a lot of connectivity problems. ***********************************************************************CONCLUSION******************************************************************************************** This is a must play game whether or not you played previous souls game. If you like RPG, heck&slash and openworld, you don't want to miss out on this experience.

This is the Must Have Title for the Playstation 4. Never playing any of its predecessors, Bloodborne has a certain feel to it that is hard to distinguish. In one hand you feel powerful as you take down a group of enemies or boss. In the other you encounter 2 npcs and they drop you like a box of rocks. Its hard, but never have I experienced a game with so much reward to the player for putting the time and effort into a game. Yes, this game is hard! Yes, you will die, a lot. But, when you do make it and kill the boss it gives you such satisfaction that no other game can give you. Do yourself a favor. Buy this game! It's that addicting . Cons load times but they are working on a patch for them

i have a long history w/fromsoftware games. before i bought this game i knew what i was getting into. i played dark souls before. i hated dark souls, threw the game into a dark corner, left it there for months, but in the back of my mind i wanted to play it so i picked it up again and gave it another shot. so i gave it another chance and kept playing, and playing, before i realize i put in many hrs. but i still hated it. but for some strange reason i kept plugging the game back in and playing it. then i realize i didn't hate dark souls at all and that it made an impression on me. i still think about dark souls to this day! so naturally i was hesitant to pick up bloodborne. when i did pick it up i did the exact same thing i did when i bought dark souls. i got mad and threw it in a dark corner for over a yr. cursing the game to heck!!!! and gave it a middle finger too. but for some strange reason i kept thinking about it. finally covid 19 hit and i was quarantined. then i thought about bloodborned and it said to me, "so you came crawling back to me." again like dark souls i decided to have a rematch. WOW! i been addicted to this game for weeks now! i asked myself why i didn't play this game sooner!!! dang this game is addicting as heck!! i finally realize why people love fromsoftware games so much!!! esp bloodborne. these type of games are made for me. games i have been asking for since the olden times. i have been disappointed w/easy games lately and i lost some interest in modern video gaming but fromsoftware have rekindled my interest again and reminded me reminded all of us that video games are meant to challenge you, not hand hold you like a child. for that i thank them. now i am a forever fan of fromsoftware games and other video games like theirs. dark souls type games will not be for everyone, but for those who want a challenge then these games are for you. imo they are worth every penny and you will get your money's worth when buying these games. it will keep you playing and playing forever. fromsoftware have won me over and i hope they make more games like bloodborne in the future.

It's nice to have a game that doesn't hold your hand. Instead of telling you what to do and where to go at all times, Bloodborne drops you into a strange world of confusion with not so much as a goal. It slowly starts to come together, the story, the mechanics, the weapons, it's all there. It's a game that respects the player, but also demands respect of it's own. It's tough, yes, but that's not all the game is about. It's beautifully designed, meticulously balanced, and every nook and cranny has meaning and life. If you want to experience a game that let's you play how you want to play, this is for you. If you want your hand held and cannot tolerate defeat, you should move on. The best game I've played in a long time.

Miyazaki is the name that is headed in the direction of Loved Director Hideo Kojima. The man behind some of the most punishing, but really rewarding experinces is BACK testing the waters on this PS4 Exclusive. This game has been worth the wait. Not to give anything away in terms of story...but know this... YOU WILL DIE. A LOT! Dont go into this game expecting an easy setting and breeze through it, because guess what? ITS NOT! Thats the beauty of it...even in the first few minutes, if you dont strategize, you will suffer. This game does not hold your hand and tell you where to go, you have to pay attention to the beautiful environments, and also the NPCs. They provide clues on what to do next. I absolutely love this game and it is easily 60-80 hour game. If you want to do EVERYTHING in the game, you are looking at 100 hours minimum! Do yourself a favor, if you own a PS4 and are up for a challenge, This game is for YOU!

This is my first time playing a ps4 game and enjoying it. At first it was difficult, but once I got hang of combat and how the enemies attack it got better and once I got to where I can level that coarse helped some too. Enemies are tough and environment is so beautiful. When I was a kid I played a game called nightmare creatures on the N64 and this game reminds me of that game except bloodborne even more higher on the challenge level and coarse better graphics. I'm so glad I got this game.

Really great graphics and sound. Level design can get a bit repetitive, as can the monster boss battles. This game is not for the faint of heart as it is quite difficult, almost frustratingly so. Just know what you're getting into before you think about purchasing it. I'm sure most people familiar with the Dark Souls series know what to expect from Bloodborne in terms of difficulty. I've been playing it for close to a month and still haven't beaten it!! Still it's a fun and addictive game if you don't mind a challenging game that requires you to use strategy over mindless hacking and slashing.

There are moments to Bloodborne that I simply can't describe. The dreadful atmosphere...it is a complete nightmare and I love it! Please, play the game with head phones! The sound and music design is sublime! This is the only From Software game I've completed - is the game hard? Yes. However, I completed the main campaign and the D.L.C. So if I can do it, then you certainly can!

Great game with a really creepy atmosphere and world. I usually prefer JRPGs, but Bloodborne has me rethinking that. It is getting a bad rap as being too difficult, but it's not bad if you take the time to grind and have patience when fighting bosses. Overall much better than I was expecting and probably the best game on PS4 right now.

This game is made by the creators who made dark souls. The controls gameplay is pretty similar. There is barely a introduction/tutorial mode for you so you might have to learn all the controls by yourself. I died quite a few times but if you get use to the mechanics you can beat it. It might be a difficult franchise for first timers.

The game is very good but at the same time very challenging compare to dark souls series. The graphics are amazing for a console game. Story is very good, dark and deep. game play is very fluid with occasionally frame rate dips but nothing taking away from the experience.

This is a great game, and brings some interesting ideas into play. Should be on every PS4 owners list of games to look into. Like people have said before. However, just know two things 1- This game is very hard, you are warned. 2- The game of the year edition comes out next month, so it might be worth it to wait. However fun game.

From the makers of Dark Souls, comes this epic. A must have for any PlayStation 4 user, although not recommended to all because of its learning curve. I admit this review is biased because I rank it one of the best games of 2015 which has had stellar titles already.

Bloodborne was a $460 game for me. It's easily the best game in the souls series. It's dripping with atmosphere and the combat is exhilarating. The biggest issue I have is that it's not on PC where I could play at 60fps.

This game has the same mechanics as the other games from FROM Software, who also made the SOULS games. If you have played any of the souls games, you already know what to expect. It is tough as nails and so very rewarding when you finish each boss fight and move on. The environment and mechanics are really well made and lots of fun. It can be frustrating and you may very well depend on online resources to determine best way to fight a boss. It doesnt make it any easier, though. The online component is lot of fun. You can call someone for help and fight the boss (and sometimes that is the only way to beat the said boss). Or, you can play the chalice dungeon PvP and fight fellow hunters. Remember, you die a lot and it is extremely frustrating but it is also lots of fun if you keep at it.
