I can't believe I didn't buy this game earlier.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. As a realtively late-comer to the Xbox 360, MW2 was my first CoD. I thought that was the most fun online multiplayer experience but it's now tainted with utter frustration due to all the exploitable flaws (OMA Noobtubes). Then Black Ops came, with its fascinating storyline and less fun but much more balanced multiplayer. As the community members complained more and more and picked apart every flaw of each new CoD, I repeatedly heard about CoD4 being the "best CoD ever", a "flawless game". So, I finally decided to buy it, and I was NOT disappointed. Let's start woth the campaign. While CoD4's storyline is superb, it's not quite as intriguing as Black Ops'. Like any other CoD, it's filled with cinematic sequences, dramatic moments, and plenty of bad guys to fight off. Where this campaign comes out on top, however, is in it's gameplay. The missions are just more FUN to play, and often more difficult, too. If you completed the Black Ops campaign on veteran and expect to do the same on CoD4 without any tutorials, you're mistaken. Some parts of this campaign are impossibly difficult on veteran. But although I was frequently frustrated, the end result of finally completing some of these missions felt unbelievably rewarding. By the end of the campaign, you'll be begging for more. The multiplayer is the real highlight of every CoD game, and CoD4's is no exception. Although you probably won't find the same experience today as you would have a couple of years ago (there are probably around 1000 people online at any given time), I was surprised to find it still just as addicting, less frustrating, and more enjoyable than the multiplayers of both Black Ops and MW2. The lack of ultimate customizablilty that's found in the more recent CoDs provides much more simple gameplay that always feels fun and rarely feels annoying. Of course, modders and hackers are commonly found in the lobbies nowadays, but I didn't find them too much of a hindrance to the gameplay overall. All and all, I can say with confidence that this IS truly the BEST Call of Duty game I have yet played. So if you haven't experienced it yet, go buy it now!

Love It
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The sounds of grenade shrapnel’s fly about, gunshots rattle off in the distance, and the sound of a knife slicing through an apple is music to the ears. 2:00 am, and we’re barely getting started. I have banned together with a team of five others to take on Call of Duty “gamers”. With my legs thrown up, a energy drink at my side, and fresh baked chocolate chip cookies in my lap I prepare for hours of yelling over the sounds of bullet shells hitting the ground. “Don’t tell me you guys are still here, we’re just getting warmed up rookies,” I tell the kids online. Call of Duty 4 Modern Warfare brings a strong storyline, and an incredible multiplayer mode The graphics will be the first thing you notice, and lets just say that they are simply stunning. The life-like sounds are explosive, and sometimes give the effect that the action is taking place in the room. Sprinting from a barrage of bullets the player will sometimes find themselves face to face with an enemy looking into the whites of their eyes. Jumping back and landing on grass you may see some dirt rise from your feet. Two shots leave your gun, and the enemy falls to the ground with blood splattered on the wall. The game reminds you of a movie such as Black Hawk Down or Saving Private Ryan. The intro to the game plays out as if it were the beginning of a movie. You start the game off as Yasir Al-Fulani, the president of the unknown Middle Eastern country, in the back of a car. You see the terror that is brought to your people. Houses are raided, women and children try to run, while others are being executed in the middle of the streets. When you come to a stop your screen becomes blurry as you are hit in the face by a gun. It seems that he leader of the separatists wants to prove a point a point to everyone and executes you. Pretty strong stuff, but it makes you want to hoe into game-play and take action. The cut scenes are also incredible, leaving you to think, “is this really a videogame?” I found myself plenty of times watching the cut scenes as if they were parts of a movie. Ward attempts to draw you in with a strong story line that keeps you on your toes. Breaking away from previous game settings Infinity Ward, an American video game developing company, leaps into modern day creating Call of Duty 4:Modern Warfare. This first person shooter involves you switching between two perspectives: One of a U.S marine and the other of a British S.A.S. The objective is to recover some stolen Russian nukes and eliminate some mid-eastern terrorist bent on destruction. Khaled Al-Asad leads his band of rebels in trying to take over the Middle Eastern countries with brute force. By making the game Modern day Infinity Ward introduces a slew of new guns and technology to the player. Night vision, trip mines, and modern gun’s, such as the .50 cal sniper rifle (one of my personal favorites), brings a new energy to the game-play. The story lacks in a couple of areas. You aren’t able to give friendly troops orders, and the switch between the two perspectives can get confusing. With Xbox Live Infinity Ward is able to pull out the big guns, and keep this game on top. The online multiplayer mode for Call of Duty allows players to take advantage of Xbox Live, and branch from the story mode and play with friends or strangers online. With games such as team death match and capture the flag, players are guaranteed hours of fun. There’s nothing like waking up to a face full of grenade. Well at least that’s what I hear from the people I play. I sit with my headset on eyes glued on the television screen for the slightest movement. Nothing feels as good as leading your team with a 20-kill streak and sending in a chopper (short for helicopter). I call on two of my many friends online, and begin my killing spree. The ranking system is quite unique as it allows the player to unlock different guns and perks with a higher experience. Guns can be customized with some camouflage, and attachments such as the red dot or silencer for a more stealthy approach. Your level is recognized immediately by beginning players when you enter the game as a 10th prestige level 55. Lets just say that lets others know that you’ve been around the block for a while. The game takes some time getting used to, but once you play for a while you’re hooked. COD4 is good alone with just the story mode, but the multiplayer mode gives it a boost to greatness. While I find this game easily in my top five selections of games with Gears of War and Halo, there are things that I dislike. The story mode is good, but it just doesn’t capture my attention. I find the game better online than playing by myself. It just doesn’t pull you in the way that the sci-fi games pull you in. If you don’t mind being patient, and watching cut scenes or completing objectives over and over this could be the story mode that you have always wanted. The interactive play online lacks in areas also. The connection to opponents isn’t always that great so a “lag” in someone’s Internet connection could be the difference between you following through with a headshot or losing in a heated gunfight. Besides these minor problems I find this game enjoyable, and cant find myself leaving it out of the system for too long. Infinity Ward is able to introduce many new aspects to a first person shooter by making Call Of Duty 4 in Modern time. Although you aren’t fighting aliens, or skyscraping monsters, you are on a battlefield taking on characters similar to our forces today. It brings a more realistic feel, which is different than games such as Halo. Without the modern feel, the graphics, the realistic scenes in story mode, and the ability to go online and take out your friends, this game would be just another “war game”. But COD4 brings something different to the table. Something that says, “Play me, play me till your hands fall off.” And this is what I have done, and what I am still continuing to do as I wait patiently for the sequel.

Best shooter game ever
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Basically this is the best game I have ever played so far (Modern Warfare 2 is coming) and I am addicted and love. The story mode is fast paced and leaves you in the edge of your seat ready for the end. 2 player multiplayer is fun with a friend but there is set classes which is a bummer. Online is simply phenomenal. You can make classes play with people around the world and I just love it This gets a 100 out of 10

Best FPS Available (First Person Shooter)
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This game totally Deserved the Game of the Year Award. I've played Halo 3 (waited til 12am on release night to get it), played BioShock (unique and also a great game) but I have not been hooked on another game like this one in a long time. The Storyline will get you hooked. You'll be able to select different difficulty levels if the missions are too hard for you. The online play can get cheesy if you find yourself surrounded by experienced players, but in time you will develop your skills because the better you get the more weapons you unlock because the weapons you start off with are not that good. I play with a couple of friends and family online and its a piece of cake to find a game. I highly recommend this game, if you ever wanted to know how it felt to be in the middle of battle or wanted to know how it felt to be a sniper....GET THIS GAME!!!

One of the Best Games Ever Made
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this game quite a while ago and when I received it, I didn't like it very much (because of the challenging online play). I played the campaign for a while and it was pretty fun, the storyline was okay, and the ending was great. In January I started to play the online again with my friends and I absolutely loved it. It was one the funnest online games i had ever had the pleasure of playing. The online maps are great, as well as the weapons. Overall, comparing Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare to Call of Duty: World at War, this is a much much better game. The only reason Call of Duty: World at War sells so much is that people don't really know which one to buy, and that one is newer, so they assume that it's better, I can assure you that it is not though.

Cod4 baby!!!!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This game is AMAZING!!!!! The graphics are outstanding and put you in the game. The sound compliments and make your ears ring and your heart race. The campain shows a possible threat where muslim forces send nukes and the eastern coast of the U.S. now you have to play as two characters from the Marine Force Recon and the S.A.S british forces. Also it makes a outstanding multiplayer Xbox Live game. It provides many diffrent kinds of game play like sabatoge search and destroy and team deathmatch. It is one of the best over all games and gives me one bad reason. In the multi player you can through gernades across the whole map. But it total out bringing all you can ask for a game.

Great game
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This game is great! Good campaign, GREAT online multiplayer but is NOT a Halo killer as stated in other reviews. The graphics are good but not as tuned as other games. You can't tell if a person is looking at you or another direction(online). Some of the perks are very unrealistic with make the very easy to pick up and learn. It doesnt take as much skill to play this as Halo 2 or 3, in halo EVERYONE starts with same weapon. Overall it is a great game to play online, it is fun, rewarding the experience you gain with weapons and perks as you climb the ranks...It is one of the few FPS to get if you have a 360 or PS3.

There is a reason this was Game of the Year
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is such a great game. I have been playing it since it came out and still love it. This has to be the best multiplayer game out. The higher you level up the more perks you get. You have to play it to really enjoy the experience. I do here alot of complaints that the story line is to short. Well if you play it on the hardest difficulty it will take some time. One of the hardest achievements on Xbox is the Mile High achievement. Check it out this game is great.

Best Game Ever!!!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Story Mode is great, it has a lot of heated battles and stealthy missions. The online is the best there is of any war game where you can customize your weapons and play a lot of fun game modes like headquarters and search & destroy. The people that dont like online suck at it. And the only thing bad about online is a few glitches and juggernaut perk. Cant wait for Modern Warfare 2, already pre-ordered it a month ago.

Awesome Game
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is one of the greatest games to ever hit the gaming community in my mind. I absolutely love it and will never get rid of it as long as I have my 360. It's very addicting. The game can be real easy or really hard depending on what level you are at. Either way, it's fun. Best shooter I ever played except for maybe Halo but 2 totally different games. You'll love it!

Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare Game of the Year Ed
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This version of the Call of Duty 4 game includes a code that allows you to download a map pack for free. Now I don’t know how much this map pack is, but I am sure it is more then the $5.00 more that you spend on this game. The maps are for use with online multiplayer. It looks like though that the version of this game that is $5.00 less is just that way so they can sell off the rest of their stock. So technically it actually if free and well worth it. Now on to the game review! Call of Duty 4 is an excellent game. The rank system in online multiplayer is great; you can even customize your person to your playing style. The graphics and realism in single player are phenomenal. It really goes back to the mold for Call of Duty games. The third game was not really all that great, but this one is great. This is a modern game set in the now instead of WWII, but this is not a problem as I first thought it might be. Fighting through a lot of great levels that even sometimes use your camouflage to meld you into the backgrounds. There are a couple of parts that are extremely difficult. All in all I would recommend this game to anyone who likes first person shooters especially ones that are very tactical.

Top Quality Console Gaming
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is easily the Best FPS Game on the Market Period. Superior to any new game that has come out at all. Even Crysis for PC you need a 3 or 4 thousand dollar system to see in all it's glory. COD. World at War was an amazing game also, but the WW2 theme just doesn't appeal to me anymore, I like seeing the New and Modern Weapons. It just makes it feel more Real to me. Modern Warfare 2 will have a big shadow to step out of even against this game. I've seen back things happen with Sequels. I hope it's above and beyond this game or atleast as good. I don't get my hopes up too much with new games. This game is incredible! My jaw hit the floor when i saw how well this played on an Xbox 360. I thought i was playing on a 4 thousand dollar PC!!. For a FPS shooter PC does have Crysis's amazing Visuals and Physics, but at what cost. For the 360's being a bargain now a days, you just can't go wrong with this game.
