2007's Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare surprised me with its memorable story and set pieces and fantastic multiplayer. For the sequel, Infinity Ward has upped the intensity on the single player, and though the story here is less plausible than that of the first, it's still full of great moments and shocking twists. It's short length is offset by the lack of a single dull moment or sub-par mission. The level of quality and polish on display is second to none. Not much has to be said about the multiplayer, if you liked Call of Duty 4's multiplayer (and most people did), Modern Warfare 2's multiplayer is bigger and better. Finally, the addition of the co-op spec ops mode is a lot of fun to play with a friend. Overall, a great package, and one of the best games of the year.

This game plays great and has a lot of options to play with friends online or just play alone. Arguably the best war game to come out in years. On a side noteI didnt know that Best buy sold used games and was pleasantly surprised that the game was like brand new when it got here, if you have time to wait for a used game I would suggest buying it from Best buy.com

This game was put together very well. The graphics and the sound effects are great and the game play falls right into place. The campaign is about 5 hours long on normal and 10 on Veteran but you will enjoy every Minute of it. There is also Special ops which is also great and gives you more game to play. You will be impressed with the online play with all the new maps. There are so many new weapons and there’s even a perk that allows you to have 2 primary weapon attachments. Perks can be upgraded. You can now chose you kill streaks to fit the way you play the game and then there are death streaks opposite of kill streaks that will help you out if you’re constantly getting killed. If you could only buy one game for the rest of the year this is it.

Multiplayer online is soooo much fun! Be warn though, it is also very addictive. MW2 online is just like COD4:MW but with a lot of enhancement. One main feature, you are now able to show off your skills with acquired emblems & titles through what seems like an endless list of challenges. Special ops is a co-op mission based game mode. Its what campaign should have been like if it wasn't single player. If you played the last MW, you know the campaign story mode has to be compelling and interesting. I was glued to the tube for hours with Infinity Ward excellent story telling design. Although personally, I thought the first MW storyline was a lot more surprising and unexpected. Overall, a must buy this season!

I personally do not like this game, because of the camping that people do online to get the perks from kills without dying. You can get a bomber, that drops bombs on enemies, a helicopters that fire missiles too, or maybe you'll rack up enough kills to get a predator missile to kill anyone within a whole block. Thats not the end of the perks either, because if you get 25 kills you end the game with a nuke, and you crowned as the winner. This of course applies to most game types, but not all. Because of the perks most believe the only way to win in this game is to camp, and I'm not a camper and never will be. If you like great graphics, big and fun maps, and matchmaking, with dying and respawning all the time, this game for you. You'll love it if you're a camper! Would not recommended to a friend, because my friends hate campers too.

The only peeve I have with this game is the Veteran campaign and the campaign in general. With the characters switching every other mission or so, it was a little hard to follow the storyline, but I made it. Also, the Veteran campaign is noticably easier than in Call of Duty 4, or maybe I've just gotten better :D. The graphics and sound in MW2 are amazing, as is everything else about the game. As the game says, the Spec Ops missions combines the addictiveness of multiplayer with the story and objectives of single player, leading to a great combo. The single player campaign is great, and multiplayer is amazing. This is definitely the best game of the century. BUY IT!

It's almost like a trip back in time to the good ol days of call of duty 4. It has the same style game play, but fixed all the problems. In example, the m16 is no longer gods weapons. There are TONS of new killstreaks rewards, and you are able to chose the ones you like. New weapons, such as the riot shield, throwing knives, and guns. The gameplay is the same as modern warfare one, but the levels, guns, perks, and almost everything else is different. They bring back some of the favorite... or most hated guns such as the m16, p90 and m4, but what is really great is all the guns seem to be equal, no gun is overpowered, all guns kill within 2-3 solid hits in hardcore, or 4-5 solid hits in not hardcore. And the one shooters of course kill in one hit in hardcore, and 1 for a headshot, or 2 shots in nonhardcore.

The campaign is great, the special ops multiplayer is great, and that doesn't even mention the awesome xbox live multiplayer experience...i highly recommend this game to anyone.

OK, OK, OK, everyone that came from under their rock early 2009 couldn't wait to get MW2, and instantly rushed to pick it up at their local Best Buy, go back under their rock, and play it. Yes, I get it. You were VERY excited, and wanted something that was more amazing than the prequel. But did you get that? Well......if ya ask me...NO, you didnt'!!!! "ZOMG! He said it's a bad game! FLAME HIM!!" Yea, slow down for a bit. Use some intellect when you read this, k? Well......I'll be nice. The good thing about this game, minus the nice weapon sounds and the actually enjoyable SpecOps, is the "OMG!!" moments in the campaign. MW had the sniper level, and walking around before dying thanks to a nuke going off. But what's in MW2? Well, how about a snowmobile level, ice climbing (don't look down), killing innocent Russian people in the THIRD LEVEL (yep...No Russian..YouTube it), sneaking around bases with surpressed weapons, and throwing a knife at the end of the game. Yes....OMG moments, and LOTS of them. What's the bad, though? Well....the campaign is short....VERY short.....UNBELIEVABLY short. Four hours??? ON NORMAL?!!!! WHAAAT?!!! MW1 took at least 8 on Normal! And the sequel is shorter?!!! Yea, no...not likin' that. Also, could they make it any harder to follow the story? Bouncing from Ramirez to Roach to Ramirez to MacTavish (yes, he's in the game).......I lost track of what was actually going on after "No Russian"....third level...that's the last time I remember the story being clarified EVER in this game.....and with a four-hour campaign....should I be surprised? I also said the online wasn't so great.....well...if you played the game BEFORE the many, many patches, you already know why. Maybe it's because I REALLY liked MW1 due to it actually took SKILL to dominate in that game, but...wow...why, Infinity Ward? Why????? Why would you let people run around with a grenade launcher, Thumper (which launches explosive rounds....just like another weapon...hmmm), and Scavenger so I can keep picking up launcher rounds? This game wasn't meant for veteran players of MW1 like myself. It was meant for novice players to hop in and get easy kills without using much brain power. Also, some of the killstreaks are waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay overpowered. Think about it......Chopper Gunner comes in....flies above you...you die. You spawn, you die again. Yea, let's change "Hit X to respawn" to "Hit X to die and get your butt spawn camped by a Chopper Gunner", which fires a flare before it can be shot down. So, if you're lucky enough to have a horrible gunner that just can't see you, or you have Cold-Blooded (prevents you from showing up as a red square), you can shoot two Stingers at it and take it down. Ehh......it can happen. But let's talk about that AC130. Get 11 kills in a row, and you get to call in this baby (if you pick it as a killstreak). So, what happens with this thing? Oh...nothing......except it rains (they won't let me type it) on Earth with explosive shells firing at you, and shooting four flares before FINALLY being shot down....unless you have a team that's willing to co-ordinate attacks (one person fires a Stinger, flare...another fires, AC130 can't shoot flares in time...BOOM!)....just run....and hide.....for a good minute. Don't even get me started on the glitchers before the patches. I played a few hours on Saturday.....nine games. Of those nine, half had people doing the care package glitch, and the rest were modded rooms where you basically run at twice the speed....yea, that's a fun way to play a game! Let's glitch and cheat like we're playing Halo 2 back in its prime days!! :D Good idea (.....insert explicit word here). Before that, it was rooms that had infinite ammo....yea, imagine an automatic grenade launcher...with infinite ammo...FOR EVERYONE.....fun? Yes. Annoying after a while? Yes. Yet ANOTHER problem with online....LAAAAAAAAG. No, it's not my connection. 6MB wouldn't lag so much. But I can't count how many times I fired four rounds into someone that tried to knife me, only having the last two register, letting that guy knife me. OR, shooting an automatic gun...one, two, three, four, five, six....guess which ones registered? Yep, four, five and six....the last rounds register....what happened to the first three?!! Don't you people know you can't destroy matter?!!! If you're like me, you'll get beyond annoyed with people running around stabbing you, or sniping you with a shotgun....actually, lemme talk about that as well. How far do you think you should be able to hit someone with a shotgun? Not that far, right? Don't you think that.....hmm, a few feet....is effective, but after that, it's not worth anything? Yea, tell that to the SPAS-12, or the Model 1887 before it got patched. I'm on the catwalk on Sub Base...that's two full levels up...I kill a guy in two shots that's below me.......yep...the range with shotties is unbelievable. And another pet-peeve. How is a .50cal sniper rifle going to actually HIT a guy, and he doesn't die?! Come on!!! It's a 50....50!!!!!! That's death waiting to happen! But chest? Walks. Neck? Ehh, if he's lucky, walks....but the Intervention, magically, they're not so lucky....uh-huh. Great job, guys. Maybe I'm being WAAAAY too picky, but coming from a game that actually was close to being a well-balanced game (MW1) to one that's completely broken (the FUBAR mistake they called MW2), it's obvious to see that MW2 was nothing but a cash cow, only to abuse the name instead of actually improving from MW1. It was made to be for those novice players/little kids that want the best early and go "OMG! Grenade Launcher! And I can still have perks! Cool!" and go use that instead of learning how to aim a gun, fire rounds (assuming all of them register!), and getting a kill. *sigh*.....veterans......don't buy this game, 'less you're more patient than I am......and I'm not a patient person to begin with........ P.S. I re-read this five times to delete the profanity from the review....that's how frustrating this game is.....six, now.

The special ops takes some skill they aren't straight forward easy. They do raise the skill level of the players and they are pretty fun. I would warm up to the game playing the spec ops. You can play them 2 players which is fun for 2 players on the same XBox 360. Multiplayer is good but you are limited to 8 players per team. If you are a legacy player from the years past this might sound bad but on the XBox; who gives. The graphics are awesome and on HD 720 or 1080 is still awesome. For game play, stealth and patience is rewarded. Sneak around! This is not Halo brazen gung ho tactics will only get you sliced. So have fun!

This game is great. There are alot of multiplayer levels and the single player is amazing. There are 4 difficulty settings for every type of player. I'm playing on hardened difficuly which is the second hardest and it's definitley tough to beat. The graphics are great and the storyline is one of the best that I have ever seen. The multiplayer levels are huge and you can snipe or use an assault character on almost every level. The only problem that I have is that when you start the multiplayer you have to play regular deathmatch until you reach level 19. Then you can play hardcore which I think is way better.

Online Hardcore only. Pros: graphics and you can get to so many places(Roofs and in buildings) Cons: I spent more time in the lobby waiting for games to start than playing. It has issues starting games as there is an 1 minute intermission and then it takes forever to get the teams, once you think it is ready half the room is gone and it starts over. There is way too much lag as I had shot so many people point blank and I fell over dead and they had no damage. Even with ninja and coldblood on and no UAV plains opponents seemed to know were I was and should not have. note, if both develpoers go ttogether they could make one heck of a game as COD WAW with some neat things on MOD2 would be neat. I am ready to sell this after 2 weeks.

I started playing the Call of Duty series with the original Modern Warfare. Believe it or not, I'm a 50 year old woman!! FPS games had been my favorites since Halo burst onto the scene, but Call of Duty: Modern Warfare made me a HUGE fan of military games. I've bought and enjoyed each COD game since and this one was no disappointment. I don't even need to talk about how excellent the graphics and game engine are, but it's more than that. It has a real eye for story, dialogue, music, and all the little things that join together to make a game great. Can't wait for the next one!!!

This is one of the most addicting fps games ever! I was so addicted to this game that it got so many straches and broke! This a really awesome call of duty, and if you like thrilling action, awesome multiplayer, and something really fun, this is the perfect game! Great Game for FPS fan, and great for playing when bored. I recommand this to anyone that enjoys shooter games and anything that relats to awesomeness!! this game is so amazing, it is rediculously better than black ops. the graphics are the best ever. the online is sooooooo fun when u arnt playing against a bunch of hackers, noobs, and campers. the campaign is really fun but short, but it seems that the campaign is to short for every game.

Campaign was just as amazing as COD4 if not more. Spec Ops was a great new feature and I prefer it to Zombies (COD Waw can't even be put on the same level as the Modern Warfares IMO) Muti-Player is all it should be. As a word of caution, this game is awful for my blood pressure. My only compaint is that I wish that they had kept party chat. You'll hear all the usual crying and whining over campers, noob-tubes, M-16's and whatever else is killing all the crying babies out there, but overall I think that the game full on delivered on all expectations and even exceeded some.

I have been off and on with this MW2 since its' release and I have to say that it is a very enjoyable game. The fact that I keep coming back to it speaks for itself enough considering how easily I tend to bore of a game. + First, I have to touch on what everyone is saying about the campaign. Personally I enjoyed it. The storyline was decent and most definitely an interesting concept. It wasn't the hardest campaign to finish, but it was fun none-the-less, I have a decent amount hours logged on the campaign itself. + The key highlight for me has been the multiplayer and xbox live play. I have spent a significant amount of time on live, as well as just doing some free-for-all matches with some friends of mine. I have found the weapon leveling system to be very fun! I like how you have to posses either a certain amount of skill or large amount of freetime to unlock upgrades for your weapons. I always hated the person who would run around with the best weapon and equipment on a game and obtain a decent score just because of their inventory. + Now, on the other hand, one bad thing about the live play and weapons... The akimbo shotguns... Just in case you are not familiar with this, it is a dual wielded shotgun that does very high damage and has a rediculous spread that will hit its target if you are even remotely close. It takes little to no skill with this weapon and every online game, there seems to be some no talent idiot running around blasting people with these. Last I checked, video games are quite a bit more fun when there is some sort of tactics or planning employed. + Overall, I have found this game to be great! Great graphics, awesome leveling system, fun campaign, and intense multiplayer action. I would recomment this game to any FPS lover.

Once again Infinity Ward has done an outstanding job on Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. While the basic idea and flow of the game didn't change much from Modern Warfare, the graphics have improved from already excellent graphics for an online game. There are a good assortment of new weapons and the aircraft support has been vastly improved. I especially like the gunship addition, it brings even more realism to the game. Modern Warfare 2 gives you an idea of what being in modern day combat is like without really having to be there. Great job Infinity Ward!

i was very impressed with the look and feel of this game. the graphics are excellent and the effects are terrific. The game has been fun to play but honestly i got a heck of a lot more enjoyment out of the special ops which are missions you can do co-op that are short and sweet and utilize some maps from the game and also introduces some great new ones. the main story line was very disappointing to me. Spoiler alert- The story was terrible it portrays the generals as evil, and the controversial mission involves slaughtering hundreds of civilians in an airport. i do not understand why the game had to go down this path. I would have found it much more enjoyable to play one of the security guards at the airport hopelessly out gunned instead of one the murderous terrorists. I really think the game should have steered more towards heroism and less towards evil.. this kind of game wrongly portrays the CIA and military intelligence as evil. these people put there lives on the line for us the least we can do is honor them instead of dream up unlikely scenarios.

this game is going to be amazing i was reading some of the other reviews and people were bashing the game due to the fact that it will be alot like COD 4. Well i think we all loved COD 4 and modern warefare 2 with new weapons and perks and levels and customized kill streaks will be amazing and ya they are bringing back the m-16 and so what its a good gun and if you suck at COD 4 and your upset that you are terrible at COD 4 and you know you will be terrible at this one and your jealous that everyone is better than you then dont give a review thanks
