If Gears of War 4 does not live up to the hype, you are going to be very happy to know that Gears of War was masterfully restored with the next-gen treatment to get you through this console's life cycle. Not to mention the single-player is as refreshing as it was the first time you played it.

This game was great. Played it on my 360. It's 10x better on the Xbox one.

The main reason I bought this was to get rid of some points about to expire. It is a solid remake (since I have the original game) with the usual visual upgrades and other enhancements, but did not 're-define' the experience of the original. I guess it all comes down on how badly you want an 'ultimate' experience if you already had played the game when it first came out.

The gameplay and graphics got a facelift. The game is still a ton of fun.

Love gears of war finally got to play it on the Xbox one and it's perfect

I never owned or played any Gears of War when they came out for legacy xbox systems. This collection is a solid bang on the buck but I just didn't get what all the hoopla was about. I understand the use of cover was revolutionary back in the day but maybe I'm just a sourpuss. One nice thing is playing this game before 12/31 online will allow you to get free GOW games.

Gears of Wars was never my go to game but this one is the best one yet.

This was a revolutionary game when it was first released. I put over 100 hours after the original release. I also met several gaming friends in online play. I was looking forward to this release of a classic. Unfortunately, the novelty wore off when I got into the multi-player and quickly got discouraged because the years away made me forget how bad I am at this game.

I played the original on the Xbox 360 and this remastered is amazing.

Great graphics but same issues with online servers. Fun game overall!

Wish it was the gow 2 remake, but this is definitely worth picking up.

If you are a fan of gears of war you cant go wrong. greater shooter

I played this game years ago on the 360. I rented it from Blockbuster if you can believe that. Anyway, this is a "modern update" - updated graphics, new items, etc. The core game is a cover based shooter which means the goal for surviving is to take cover, pop up and fire, take cover, move to new cover, etc. Definitely not a "run and gun", such a Call of Duty. The story is pretty interesting though typically sci-fi fare; giant bugs are killing everyone, you're humanity's last hope, once we get you out of prison, etc. It's good, better than most, but not mind blowing. Overall a great game to replay or for new players.

It's the Gears of War you've grown to love. With more curb stomping

We'd had the games previously on other consoles but the option to have it all together, updated graphics and the ability to play it with friends that updated to next gen is great. Fun games. Great price. What else could you want?
