If you liked the original gears A LOT or never played the series, this may be for you. As long as you have a co-op buddy, it is an entertaining game. I've always been lukewarm on the series, so this was a bit dull for me. The pricepoint was $10 for me and worth it.

Certainly looks better and appears to have more intelligent AI so your teammates dont run out into a hail of bullets or kryll and get themselves killed, but otherwise little is new. Probably would have been better if it included all three of the original Xbox 360 games becuase the first episode alone is both too short (<10 hours) and too recent (<10 years) to really have warranted a standalone remake. Recommend skipping this one, and just playing the Xbox360 version in backwards compatible mode, either by buying a used copy or getting download codes free with Gears of War: Judgment or the newer Gears of War 4. Microsoft has given away the first Gears of War game so many times now that buying it is wasteful.

Love these classics on 360 and glad that they came out for Xbox One. Great replay value.

Great game, took me back to when I plaited the original and i really enjoy this series

I mean, it's still Gears, but it's... different somehow. Not quite the upgrade I was expecting, but it's still a classic third person, hard rock experience. I got it on clearance, so it's not the worst gaming decision I've ever made.

It's just as much fun as it was nearly ten years ago when it released on the Xbox 360!

First tine ever playing a Gear of War game. This game lived up to all my expectations

Bought it and didnt play it at all for like a month. Turned it on the first time and i was thrown back! It was stunningly, beautifully remade. I havent even finished it up and i give it 5 stars

I was hesitant to buy this even tho I am a fan of the game, I played the beta & wasn't sure if I wanted to get the game, but when I seen it was on sale for only $10 it was a no brainier. I haven't played it much yet but what I have played of it was awesome.

If you were a fan of the original you will love this. It has the same great cover based gameplay that you remember just with updated graphics. If you a fan of the later gears this game isn't for you but if you want a gears fix one Xbox one this one will do.
