    Adds Little to the Franchise

Gameplay 6/10 - in essence a glorified GTA III with almost all the same features, some new minigames and side quests, but realism kills a lot of the fun City 9/10 - incredibly well thought out and realistic city, massive, detailed, has everything that a metropolitan city should have Vehicles 4/10 - very unimaginative, horrendous driving capability, many cars will roll on turns and will skid on dry pavement, only two special vehicles (helicopter and speedboat) Controls 5/10 - sloppy, unintuitive, running and walking are nearly useless, weapon cycling is difficult in a firefight Graphics 6/10 - great visuals on the city, very realistic / cars and other moving object look ok / people and clothes look slightly better than old xbox games rough facial features Story 8/10 - very good story, considerably different from previous games, a lot of thought put in here.

Awesome game from start to finish. the story is great and Niko is very well developed. The voice acting in this game is really good and you can feel the heat from some of Niko's bosses. the map of liberty city is amazing and looks like new york. a lot of people complained about the driving controls and they arent that bad at all. the game also lets you decide to kill some characters or let them live which is a great feature. so many awesome missions. go out and get this game and you will no be disappointed.

Great Game, But Can Be Very Frustrating At Times.

The game was very enjoyable for me, and the utilization of Euphoria was amazing. The physics were outstanding, and you could easily relate to some of the in-game characters. The one thing that I didn't like about this game was that the missions were very unbalanced. Gun fights could be easy, even when it was just you against 50 mobsters. The chases were very difficult, considering how fast you had to drive to keep up. If you crashed once, then you were pretty much screwed. Still a great game. The sandbox style free roam is very enjoyable, and the multiplayer is even better.

    Worth Every Penny

I purchased GTA 4 the day it released and have not regretted it since. This is an amazing game with endless possibilities. The demographic of this game alone is worth the price. Every street, town, and building has it's own distinctness. It's mind blowing how much attention to detail the creators poured into this game. The interactions you have with fellow friends, bosses, or street walking scum is priceless. The AI is out of this world with few flaws. You really build a relationship with the people around you not only in the game but out of it as well. My fiance and I will be at the store and we will remark on how that chick looks like Michelle, or how that guy over there reminds us of Nikko, this game will consume you. The story line is all over the place but comes together somehow. It's a great plot with a lot going going on. It can be a little overwhelming at times but it's nothing you can't handle. There are a lot of cutscenes but doesn't hinder the game at all, it really ties in well the game play. The controls took me a little while to get use too. I was just finishing up with Ghost Recon 2 before I started playing GTA 4, a world of difference in button assignments. I think the hardest for me was driving. The Graphics are amazing. Vehicle damage is top notch. I didn't realize how striking the graphics were until I sat back and watch my Fiance take the controls. It's like sitting in the passenger seat on a scenic route, you just notice a hole lot more. Great game, not to many complaints if any. Get ready for a long play. I'm 36% done with over 23 hours of game play. I will admit, a good portion is due going on rampages. One last thing. DON'T USE CHEATS UNTIL YOU HAVE BEAT THE GAME!

For an open world shooting game, this has an incredible and compelling story. The game includes all kinds of incredible features. The conversations while driving with a NPC is something to see. If you enjoy open world games, then this is for you. The online is something to behold. The entire world can be open to you an other players for various game modes. This is definitely a must have game for any person with a PS3.

Had this game for a while and i LOVE it. the story is really good and if you get the add ons to the game and finish all of the stories then everything comes together and you see every characters point of view in the game. the game is fun to just mess around and crash into things and I hope they make another.

i've got the whole GTA collection from GTA on the PS-GTA:San Andreas on the PS2 even own them all on the PC..lol love GTA great games and yet another one to go in to my collection of maps and game guides! Pros 1.Awasome story lines 2.Kill whoever you want...just dont get caught 3.Well worth the money for the game...will keep you playing well after you've completed the game. Cons 1. Not suitable for kids under 12-13 because of excessive violance, Prostitution, Drugs/Alchol referances. Not really something you want a growing child to be around. 2.Has alot of cussing and racial referances. Also not something you want a growing child to go to school and repeat words. hope this is helpfull...

    Action Packed

This game is truly amazing. Very similar to New York City (I travel to NYC a lot) but not as big so the awe in size is not as much. Though Liberty City is big enough to get lost in. I still don't fully know my way around even though I've owned this game since the day of the release. Though it's not tough to navigate the city and the cab rides only cost pennies. Each street has a name but it's only shown in your info display and not on the light post like in real life. Game play is superb. High speed chases are amazing. The action is intense and the story is very good. The controls are very good and suit this game very well. Only cons are the public transport (the LTA) is still bad and you can't walk around on board a train. Also there is no bus routes to take you around. There are only few places to shop and only a few things to buy. Hopefully though there will be upgrades to add to the life of this game. Online action is simply amazing. Never ending fun. If you got some creative friends the possibilities are endless. Overall Grand Theft Auto IV is an amazing story with excellent game play. A must have.

    Nearly flawless

This game is by far the best GTA. So many improvements made with the fighting controls, being able to take cover and free aim a lot better. Blind fire is very helpful too. The realistic environment is not only beautiful to look at but fun to interact with and listen to the people on the streets. It really helps to pull you into the game. Added with the great storyline, it's easy to become connected to the characters; something I haven't been able to do with the other games. The only thing I've found aggrivating sometimes is the driving controls. It took me awhile to get used to the new controls in the first place but everything is more touchy and sensitive. They did this to make it more realistic I guess but I wish it could be tightened up just a bit. The cool fishtail turns are fun sometimes but it gets to be too much when I can't stop and make turns like I used to. I've gotten more used to it as I played and some cars are better than others of course but it's the only thing I would change is just a little bit tighter handling on the vehicles.

    Outstanding

You know I was gonna wait until I beat the game before writing a review, it seemed impossible to give a real, comprehensive review before I had even finished the game, but I was wrong. If there is one thing about this game above all else is that it has an incredible amount of gameplay value. I have been working on that thing for 40 or 50+ hours, and yet i'm only about 60% done. So I wanted to go ahead and write the review while anybody still cared to read it. Everything about this game is outstanding. From the graphics to the missions to the cars and trucks to the voice acting, its all just so good. As good as I have ever seen a game be. This is my certified guarantee that if you buy this game you will enjoy playing it, even sometimes enjoy watching somebody else play because the story is just that captivating, and you keep wanting to know what will happen to our boy Nico next. I'm a freak when it comes to Madden and Tiger Woods, so I dont often go outside of that for games, but I'm so glad I did this time. If you aint got it, get it.

    great game

as a GTA fan since it was first created, this one has the best graphics (TY PS3). Similiar to the others, the game has an excellent free roam capability, which is enchanced by an in game GPS capability(something the others dont have). The storyline has certain points that the player gets to choose his fate, which makes it have some replay value(very little). Compared to rockstars past games, GTA San Andreas, and GTA Vice City, this game has alot less featuers that keep it interesting. For example in Vice City you could buy and make money from properties, and in San Andreas you could customize your vehicle, and at a point in the game you were able to take over rival gangs land, and also fight to keep your own land. GTA IV also ofeers online play should you wish to get online and see how you stand vs other players. there are a few different modes, and you can use a bluetooth headset to chat. In the end this game was an excellent buy and I would reccomend it to people who are mature, and like the mafia type stuff, like me.

Very good game. I would say a great game to buy if your into the whole gta games. I wouldn't say this is the best of the gta games though. But still a real good buy. Graphics are outstanding and gameplay is good, but the driving is not a positive for this game. Aiming isn't all that great either.

    Great Game

Grand Theft Auto IV has to be my favorite game. I got it about 4 months ago and it is still my number 1 game. The story is my favorite part. It is very interesting. The graphics are amazing as well, and adding the vibration from dualshock 3, it makes it feel and look all that realer. The cars are cool as well. New cars from 2009 are on there as well as sports cars and classics. Within the game, you can go on a computer and meet a girlfriend in which you can do numerous activities such as: bowling, drinking, eating, see a play, or go to a strip club (not really for a date); and many other things. The only bad thing about the game is the car veiw angles, but that can be adjusted by using the right analog stick. This game is the best out there! A must buy!

    The best GTA ever

In my eyes this game was flawless. They made all of the necessary changes to make the game perfect. The targeting was the best improvement they made to the game. You feel like an assassin take out wave after wave of cops and crooks. The soundtrack is also incredibly put together with some star power actually playing DJ on the differetn stations. GTA still delivers on the side busting commercials on the radio. The graphics for the game are amazing. The highlight of this whole package is the story that keep driving you to push further to unravel the twisting story which has different ending depending on your choices. Like I said earlier this game is perfect in every aspect and is an experience you don't want to miss.

    Most Expansive game Ever

This game is fantastic. When you first put it in and watch the opening cinematic, you get a feeling that you purchased a great game, and you have. The characters' voices and facial expressions immerse you into the game, along with the other bystanders that you pass on the street. The multiplayer on top of the single player mode is another added bonus. This game could define variety. If you're under 17, or are thinking of getting this game for someone under 17, DO NOT BUY IT. There is a reason this game is rated M, and until they can learn how to handle such violence and mature themes, they should not be playing this game. That's my only word of caution. Otherwise, this game is a purchase that you will not regret.

    Grand Theft Amazing

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

The game draws from your basic Grand Theft Auto game, but raises the bar for future titles. The graphics in this game are second to none for it's genre and the game play is simply fantastic. The loading screens from the previous games are non-existent for a smooth, and more realistic, play-through. The difficulty of missions vary, which is also a good thing that comes with the game. The length of the game is about the same as the rest in the franchise, but the storyline has many different forks in its path. Depending on actions that you take with certain people in the game, the outcome of the story can change, which makes it the most realistic Grand Theft Auto game to date.

    Best GTA Ever

This game is definatly one of the greatest games ever made. It far surpasses all other GTA games and any knock-off. With the amazing gameplay and visuals AND THE HUGE MAP, you can't go wrong. This map is so big sometimes I don't even know where I'm at. My only problem with the GTA series is the lack of creativity but that is very minute, I would just like to make my own "Hero" but they make up for that with the excellent voice acting they fit the characters perfect with the actors. If you don't have a current-gen(or next-gen w.e. you want to call it) console this game alone would be reason enough to buy one. Best video game ever PEROID!
