Customers are saying

Customers appreciate the updated graphics and the improving online multiplayer. Many enjoy the amount of content, including multiple campaigns and creative stories, especially considering the price. However, some customers have noted issues with online play, bugs, lag, and the large download size. Overall, the collection seems to be well-received despite these drawbacks.

Really fun game. Fans of Halo will love this... I personally don’t play video games, but my husband does and this is one of the games I enjoy watching him play. The story line(s) are cool.

If you are a fan of the Halo franchise, this is for you. The updated graphics at 60 fps are awesome and the ability to seamlessly switch between original graphics and updated graphics on-the-go is very cool. The current problem as of today, 11/14/2014, is that the online multiplayer is very slow. It is extremely tiresome to find a game, taking upwards of 20 minutes to find a party. This is not due to lack of participants, but networking issues on the server end, as admitted by the admins. I would expect these issues to be resolved soon. I would still recommend this game to anyone that likes Halo. I have browsed the seemingly endless selection of online maps and they are awesome, especially for those of us that were playing them upon their initial release. 117!

Halo: The Master Chief Collection is a conceptually brilliant foray into gaming. Uniting all four (notable) Halo games on one console, MCC applies next-gen graphics and engines to Xbox and Xbox 360 classics. At any time, players can toggle between conventional and upgraded graphics, providing an exciting spin on these titans of the industry. Frustrating, however, is the inexorably long download. Although certain friends of mine managed to install this to their hard drives in a mere two hours, my internet connection (which I know is my own fault) helped me install all 60GB of data in a timely 2 days. Now that it has installed and I have some game time under my belt, however, Halo: MCC looks to be an entertaining, aesthetically-pleasing bit of nostalgia that will assuredly help old memories resurface in the minds of gamers.

Still a bit buggy, but a solid game for Halo fans

Halo has always been a go-to multi-player favorite of mine for online gaming, but Halo has always had an amazing lore and story to tell as well. I have thoroughly enjoyed the saga of Master Chief and this collection brings together the four tales of the Chief and his AI, Cortana, together in one Blu-Ray disk, eliminating the need to switch them out when marathoning the tale. However, if you are a big multi-player fan as I am, you will probably be a bit disappointed in the bugs that have been persistent and have been there since day one of this release. While these bugs are constantly being worked out, they still exist and could turn a competitive player away from a unanimous purchase at this time. Great fan service for fans of the Halo Universe, but know that at this time, multi-player can still use some work.

This is a must buy for any Halo fan! It's also ideal for anyone wanting to get in to Halo for the first time. 4 games in one! I bought it just to relive the campaign, but can't wait to get back into Halo multiplayer.

The improvements to Halo 2 make a great game worth playing again. In addition to that you can play all four games online and the campaigns upscaled graphically. If you ever liked a Halo game, you deserve to play this.

Bought this as a gift, but I was tempted to keep it for myself. The individual games are great, and to have them all included in one collection at a great price is even better.

Sure it has it's bugs but that tends to happen when you port over and remaster games played on 10+ year old consoles. However I just finally finished playing through all the campaign with a childhood friend whom all we did was play halo and no bugs or anything really game breaking ruined the experience for me! Still great games and the attention to detail in halo 2 remastered is top notch. Also a great thing that they included 4 games and ALL the dlc in one package for one price (minus halo 3 odst which isn't really a "MasterCheif collection" anyways) unlike some other remastered games that will still charge you even more money on top of the game (looking at you call of duty)

You have to like the fact that there are four games in one game here with over 4000 gamer score to achieve. The campaigns look very sharp on Xbox One. Even Halo 4, which was only a few years old on Xbox 360 looks completely upgraded. The new redone cut scenes and graphics for Halo 2 are well done. You can really see the difference with 1080p and 60FPS. The downside is the issues they have had since launch with spotty multiplayer. I know they are working 24/7 on this, but it the multiplayer for Halo is a huge part of the game and something you cannot have this many issues with. The games I have played have been fun and the maps and gameplay display the same great graphics. Hopefully all the lessons learned for MP are applied to the Halo 5 MP Beta which this game gives you access to at the end of December.

What it does right, Delivers us the Halo franchise with updated visuals. If you loved the old games, you will love this game. Some quirks do not make sense, such as grafical artifacts in co-op as well has a hindered framerate in co-op. The game runs at 60fps, which to me is more importatnt in an FPS than resolution, but the fact the the graphical engines for the remastered version of 1 and 2 run simultaneously with the original engine does hinder the smoothness of gameplay, namely the weird resolution of halo 2 as well as co-op running at about 24-30 fps instead of a solid 60 (which IS possible mind you) In the end I am enjoying recapping the major titles in the Halo series, but often times using the old graphics for better framerate. take it for what you will, this IS a reason to own an xbox one

Stunning graphics and frame rate. Matchmaking was really rough. But great campaigns and nightfall content make up for the disapointing matchmaking first week experience. Once matchmaking is fixed, this is the complete home run baby!

The anniversary edition of Halo 2 looks amazing. I couldn't tell how good it was at first, because it just feels right and your mind tricks you into thinking that the old version looked better than it did. They have provided a quick switch button that lets you go back-and-forth between the old graphics and the new. My mind was blown the original looks like janky town compared to the new polish. The most obvious places where you notice this are in the facial expression of the characters, in the explosions, also in the sound effects and some additional musical score. I don't know how long it will hold my attention; ultimately these are all games that I have played before and played heavily. For me, the nostalgia will be better experienced while playing in co-op or multiplayer with friends.

Can anyone get enough of Halo? This is awesome playing the games that were on older systems on the new platform. The graphics are nicer than before and for 4 games $50 is a good price. Hours of fun.
