Characters and fatalities/brutalies are awesome, but gameplay isn't anything special, if you are not into fighting games like me.

It is one of the best mortal combat games ever produced.. i have played them all

Another great MK game

I haven't played any fighting games since UMK3 and bought this one. Seems like they found a good base to work on with MK9 and only improved it through MKX. Only giving it 4 stars because my favorite characters not being on the new roster and bad netcode which NRS is known for... but still a great game.
