So of course this game is just another improve version of the smash series, which I believe is still acceptable. I'm talking about in the sense that this is like the other ones but with some more added features. Some may argue that the "bugs" like "wave dashing" should have been reintroduced but I'm not one of them, I prefer stable games. I'm sure people could actually do the search and look up video gameplays and see for yourself. In addition, it seems to have been tuned down on an easier level in order to get 100% unlock. Either way, the online battles have been divided to "play for fun" or "play for glory"; which pretty much are for the people who want to get more serious. Online matches could lag but that's mostly because of the connections depended on the players. I have been on many good 4 players FFA battles with almost no lag but their were a few lags only because of a player's connection and I don't believe the the game or system is to take full blame. Also, some characters that have been clones of other previous characters seemed to have slightly diverse. Overall, I pretty happy with the outcome of the game which I didn't think the 3DS was able to handle but it seems to run pretty smooth. I suggest maybe downloading the free demo and try it out, although the demo blocks out everything but about 5 characters and 1 stage to battle on. P.S. Master Hand & Crazy Hand got some new moves

Smash on the go is great. The controls takes a few hours to get use to. Other than that its a great game.

This handheld version of Smash Bros is great for picking up and playing in short bursts of time. A round of Smash Run or Classic mode can be completed in under ten minutes, and you'll always be rewarded with fun trophies and additional special moves. On that note, customized movesets are a new addition to the series. Most moves are variations of each character's standard moveset, so while it doesn't fundamentally change the way you play, they introduce a nice degree of randomness to otherwise static matchups. All in all this is another amazing entry in the Smash Bros series!

Bought two copies of this so my kids could play together. They love it, and have played many hours while we're on trips or at home. Great game for the kids.

Love this game. I've been anticipating this game for quite some time, & they definitely didn't disappoint. Love the new characters & arenas that were added.

If you don't plan on playing smash for Wii U portably, don't bother with this version. The Wii U version is much better and for the price point, this is pretty high. If you don't own a Wii U, or you really love Smash and want it on the go, pick this up. It is well done and a dream come true for many.

Solid Nintendo title for a classic series. All the gameplay you have come to know, great new characters, online play. Now, only if my Stick doesn't break.

This is exactly what I was hoping for in a handheld smash bros game. It has everything a console version would and is a lot of fun to play with friends. The only disappointing thing about it is the lack of an intro or a story mode. The game just opens to a "press start" screen and the intro and subspace emissary mode from the last games were great features that are lacking in this one. Overall, I cant stop playing the game, even by myself without friends.

A fantastic portable version of the ultimate Nintendo brawler, Super Smash Bros. 3DS gives the player the complete experience of the beloved franchise, despite control shortcomings related more to platform limitations than to game design flaws.

The controls take some getting used to especially if you have played prior Smash games with the best controlled (Gamecube of course). Being the 1st portable version of the game, it's fun to battle on the go and has plenty of unlockables, characters, and stages. And looks like there will be DLC too.

It's a great game to have. If you have a wii u and the 3ds and smash bro, you can play it on the wii u.

I was helped fairly quickly and this game is pretty amazing, and great to play with other people with.

I have played it and my nephew whose 8 has played it. Loads of fun, and he really liked unlocking the characters!

When I first heard the announcement at E3 that Smash Bros would be hitting handhelds, I was sceptical that it was going to work on this particular console. Fighting games usually tend to be fairly poor on portable devices, but then again, Smash Bros isn't exactly the true formulaic fighter. Perhaps it is this small caveat that lends itself to be such a great game on the 3DS/2DS. Smash Bros loses nothing on the handheld and Nintendo has found ways to cleverly utilize the handheld to meet its true potential. If you are a fan of Smash, definitely pick this up.

my granddaughter loves to play her 3ds. as soon as the new game came out we went to Best Buy for it.

I love this game. I'm a very big smash fan. Played all the previous versions as well. It is very nice addition to having smash portable on the 3DS.

As a competitive smasher, I have a lot of expectations when it comes to a new smash game. And I feel as if this game has hit many of them. It is really fun and I like the direction this game is going in. LOTS of characters, online play, lots of 1 player mode things to do, and such an easy way to play with your friends anywhere. I never dreamed I would play smash bros against my friend who is in the kitchen while I'm on the couch 20 feet away. So cool. The music is FANTASTIC as well. Brief review.. worth a purchase no matter what way you enjoy smash bros.

Ever since the first time I played Super Smash Bros. on the N64 I've been dreaming of having a portable version to play on the road. Nintendo didn't just throw something together and call it a day, they built one of the most content-packed and feature-rich games for the 3DS system. I don't know how they accomplished pushing the system to its limits while still keeping perfectly smooth gameplay, even with the 3D turned on, but the programming effort was well worth it; this is truly uncompromised Smash Bros. game play in your hands, and it feels magical.

Being able to play a super smash brothers game on a portable device is enough for any fan to enjoy.
