Great concept
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I enjoy the idea of a choose your own adventure game, but this is so slow. It's more of a movie that lets you walk the characters around for 5 minutes between each 10 minute cutscene.

GAME OF THE YEAR!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Until Dawn is without a doubt my game of the year nominee. The graphics are absolutely gorgeous and the story will pull you in immediately. Using real actors to portray characters, the voice work is top notch. Every time I start this game up it gives me chills. This work of art is highly recommended and will keep you on the edge of your seat the entire time. You get to play as 8 different characters and with over 100 different endings, Until Dawn is highly replay-able. Can you keep everyone alive until dawn? Pick up this game and find out. You won't regret it...

Great unique game
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a really fun game to play. This game is similar to the Telltale games like Walking Dead and Tales from the Borderlands. The difference is that this game really changes base on your decisions you make in the game. If you do certain things it will affect the story for sure. Even smalls things in the game can affect if a character lives or dies and the game is great about telling you why something happened. I thought the story was interesting and it was great playing the detective and figuring out what is going on. You get to choose what happens in most conversations and choices that get made. Do you go right or left? Do you take the shortcut? Do you decided to shot or not? The graphics in the game look great and the acting by the voice overs is awesome. I thought it was a lot of fun to play and I recommend it.

Great Horror game!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I honestly went into this game with very low expectations. I have been disappointed with so many titles this generation that I figured this would be another one to add to this list - I was proven wrong. For those who like story driven games (Walking Dead, Heavy Rain) you will not be disappointed. The graphics are fantastic and as far as the story goes if you like cheesy horror movies (which I do) then you will feel right at home. I can't recommend this game highly enough, for me it's the best exclusive this generation and I can't wait to play again to see how different decisions impact the story. I hope Supermassive Games continues to do this kind of title in the future either in the Until Dawn Universe or beyond much like Telltale does.

Sleeper hit of 2015
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Until Dawn is only a ten hour game but it has a great story, good characters, excellent music, good visuals and great atmosphere. Gameplay is solid but is a point and click type and can be compared to Heavy Rain and Beyond Two Souls. Overall, a very good game.

Disappointing to say the least
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. In the games defense, my expectations were probably too high after watching numerous video reviews on Until Dawn raving about the voice acting, the character development, and the overall game being a "must play" for horror fans. Super Massive Games may have made this game, but it's anything but massive. I think for a game that I finished (only one play through) in about 6.5 hours and that was me taking my time looking for misc items and totems, the game left me empty and unsatisfied. The game's choice mechanic aptly called the "butterfly effect" isn't as spectacular as the game makes it out to be, as many character deaths are dependent upon the horrible QTEs (quick time events) that are unforgiving, especially because of the auto save feature that doesn't allow you to backtrack to a previous checkpoint or game save. You must play through the game once before it unlocks individual chapters for you to revisit. I seemed to have been able to unravel the "mystery" without finding all the items, so multiple play throughs seem only for the perfectionists because the gameplay is non-existent and what does exist simply isn't fun or enjoyable. Even with choosing the game's motion control feature to look around, and make decisions (using the PS4 controllers built-in accelerometer), the game isn't any more entertaining or intriguing. The characters are shallow and the development of said characters are even shallower, granted they are teenagers, however, the introductions to each character gives the player an insight into their traits but many of them seem to stray from these traits. The jump scares are poorly executed, and key reveals happen far too early: around the end of the first act or beginning of the second act. That said, I felt the pacing of the entire story felt rushed. The visuals are stunning and the score is excellent but far too ambitious for a game that lacks in so many areas. This feels like another PS4 exclusive: "The Order: 1884," as a game full of potential but doesn't actually deliver. Bottomline, this isn't a $60 game, this feels more appropriate in the $20-$30 range.

Great Horror Game! Great Scares and Choices!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I think this is a very good game. It has a good story and can be scary at times. The setting helps build the creepy factor. I like how you can play different characters in the story. I also like how decisions impact the game. Supermassive Games definitely has a hit with this one. However their Dark Pictures games have been a letdown. Hopefully they can make a comeback in the horror genre. I definitely recommend this game!

Surprisingly good!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This game had a bit of a rocky development history so I was not expecting much from it, so I was pleasantly surprised to experience one of the better horror games in recent times. The story gives plenty of options for every character to live or die based on your choices or if you fail QTEs at certain times. When you know you have that kind of control it adds a lot more tension to the gameplay and you'll likely stress over making a choice at some point in the game (the fact you're timed on choices makes it even more stressful). Takes about 6-8 hours to finish but you can replay chapters to get collectibles or to make different choices just to see what happens.

Great graphics and a fun story
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I just started this game and I love the graphics. The story is good so far and I like the way you get to make choices as you go along. The only thing I don't like are the controls.
