This type of controller is a necessity for Wii U owners. Many games need the standard controller feel to work best. The typical Wii remote doesn't work for all games. I love this controller.

This item works great. The only thing that I can say is it may not be the best fit for small hands (small children). A rubber grip could work to help it from slipping around in sweaty palms.

If you own a Wii U, you should own this controller as well. Great for using in Smash Bros., Mario Kart, and every other game that supports it. Much less clunky to use than the game pad.

This is a great controller for the Wii U, but it's insanely overpriced. $60 for one controller! That's the price of a newly released game!! I must be spoiled though. I grew up on the old Nintendo systems. NES, Super Nintendo, N64, GameCube... I remember when the games and accessories were dramatically cheaper and EVERYTHING dropped in price DRAMATICALLY after it had been out for a while. These days, you can't find a better deal on the system then $50 off. (On any of the above systems, that would have been a joke 3 years into the life of the system). And the games often don't drop in price either. So I guess this is just how things are done now. Nintendo has taken a cue from other systems and will now charge $60 just for a single controller, when they used to either give you two with the system or offer a second at a very reasonable price. Okay. Guess I have to conform if I want to play.

Good control doesnt need batteries easy to set up.

My kids like using this controller on their new Wii.

It's functional, does what it should. Some features of this controller don't respond the same as the Wii U game pad, though. Like how to trick jump in Mario Kart. Instead of just pulling the controller up in the air you must add a zr with the jump. (I think it's ZR)

I find this remote easier to use than the wii remote.

This is a sturdy, well made, classically styled controller. It works well and the wireless has a great range...even into other rooms. The only inconvenience is that the charging plug it comes with has to plug into a USB port rather than the wall...and it will only charge if the Wii or the computer is on and running.

We recently got back into Mario Kart 8, so we got this controller to have a more comfortable controller than the Wiimote add on. It works nicely and has good battery life. It's nice that it uses mini USB to charge, but most things are micro USB now. It does come with its own cable though and I've kept that around to charge it from an AC adapter we had. We don't leave the WiiU powered on enough for it to charge from there.
