Definitely nicer than the joy-cons attached to the holder (and less expensive than the joy-con/holder setup). The only very minor flaw is that the right palm grip jiggles ever so slightly... the grip has a tiny bit of play where it attaches to the body of the controller. We have 3 of these and they all have the same flaw.

If there is a downside, it’s that it is on the expensive side. But then again, it’s a Nintendo product, so nothing to be surprised about.

Then I purchased this controller and haven't looked back since. I won't play anything in TV mode without it.
