received a torn box w/ a controller that wasn't even in the box and it was missing the charging cord; it looked worse than a used product when I am SUPPOSED TO BE RECEIVING SOMETHING NEW when I try to choose the option to return b/c the product is damaged, it wants to charge me 5.99 for shipping returns.

I needed to connect it to a wire to the Nintendo so it’s not portable( unless I’m using it wrong)

Great premium controller for the Switch

This is so much better than your standard joy-cons and definitely worth it if you want a better controller for your switch. The buttons all feel premium and nice to press, the joysticks are more premium feeling as well and don't feel like they'll break over time (like how the Joy-cons prevalently succumb to stick drift), and the controller fits nicely in your hands even if you have larger hands. The controller paired with my Switch automatically and I didn't have to do a single thing to initiate the pairing. The battery life lasts a long time, I never kept an exact hour count, but it seemed like it could last most of the day in the marathon gaming sessions I did while playing Tears of the Kingdom. But you can plug it in to the Switch's dock and play while it's plugged in/charging. It doesn't come with the longest cord to do so with, but it worked for me. The only downside to this controller to me is the lack of a headphone jack. I don't get why it isn't there, it would have been a huge boon for this controller for me personally. I have several pairs of high quality wired headphones, but only one pair of bluetooth headphones (which you'll have to pair with your console on initial use, but that's easy enough to do in the settings, "Ease of Use" was four stars instead of five due to this lack of a headphone jack and the charging cable that's on the shorter side). Really hope Nintendo makes this controller compatible with whatever their next thing will be, I'd hate to sunset this controller whenever upgrading. Bought it specifically for Tears of the Kingdom (as my joy-cons developed significant stick drift right before its release), and I really wish I'd gotten it sooner.

    Must Have Addition

If you're familiar with an Xbox One controller, you'll be right at home using this. Besides the A, B, X, & Y buttons being swapped around from it, the size of this is equal to the Xbox's. This makes it so much easier to play games for me, when using the Joy-Cons for an extended period my hands would start to hurt due to how small they are. The battery life on this seems crazy good as of now, way better than rechargeable AA's or the Dualshock 4's internal. Seriously, Microsoft & Sony should take note. Oh yeah, it's also USB-C so expect it to charge in no time (so long as you haven't completly drained the battery). It's a little pricey, but if you play the Switch often this is a no brainer.

I noticed the first time I connected it, both analog sticks have consistent drifting issues.!ive tried all troubleshooting and it saddens me that a $70 controller has such poor quality control (apparently this is a known issue).

This controller is TERRIBLE. First off, it's such a difference from the standard size, that even with my giant hands, I sometimes have to send my fingers out to scour the surface of the controller just to find the buttons I need --- in sizes and places they shouldn't be. Also... it feels "cheap" even though it's expensive.

Incredible battery life, great response time, no lag, and super comfortable. The D pad is a bit meh, but it's not a deal breaker for me personally.

    Great controller

TL;DR: This is a great controller, and if the price point is fine with you, you should be satisfied with your purchase. I will say I preferred the shape of the Wii U Pro Controller over the Switch Pro Controller—it just felt more molded to my hands. That said, the Wii U Pro Controller felt too light and cheap to me. The Switch Pro Controller, by contrast, has a great weight to it—enough mass to not have the problem the Wii U Pro Controller had, but not heavy by any measure. The full-size buttons, analog sticks, and d-pad all feel great and make up for some of the top complaints about the Joy-Cons/Joy-Con Grip. Battery life has not been an issue for me—I have forgotten to plug the controller in many nights, and I have still not had it die while playing, which makes me feel better about the lack of removable/replaceable batteries. Finally, the grippy texture in the plastic on the handles just feels really nice. My only major complaint, apart from the shape not feeling quite as nice as the Wii U Pro Controller, is the price. I recognize the controller contains an accelerometer, gyro, NFC reader/writer, etc. on top of the basics, but $70 per controller feels pretty steep when you can get an Xbox One or Wii U pro controller for $50 (and Wii Remotes were $40).

Title mostly. Bought this controller, and the left joystick was already drifting significantly straight from the box. The overall feel is great but apparently the quality control is rough on these if they're shipping with drift.
