Customers are saying

Customers frequently mention the product's amazing overall performance, comfort, and great battery life. They also highly value its wireless functionality, good feel, perfect size, comfortable grip, and ideal weight. While customers praise these aspects, the main drawbacks highlighted are its price, with some also desiring improvements to the D-Pad and the inclusion of a headphone jack.

Excellent controller, soft when you have it in your hand, and the buttons are so comfortable to use, even in the difficult part of the game, if you gonna use your switch in the tv, you have to have this controller, 100% recommended

I’m not a big fan of the joycons, but this pro controller is very comfortable to use and battery lasts a good long time.

Still playing Zelda...oh this is the controller

I enjoy using the Joy-cons, while small and comfortable, I've been using the pro controller for 90% I've played Zelda and 8 hours playing in the plateau my hands are not aching from holding the grip too hard when facing a stone golem, f--- that thing, or spending 30 minutes slowly shaving a guardian's health, again f---- that thing. Oh, I've got big hands so this controller does feel small but its design curved and felt natural in my palms.

This controller is a godsend for folks with hands larger than a small child's hands. It works seamlessly, and the battery lasts for days. It's an incredible investment if the standard Switch controllers are leaving you with cramping digits.

    Nice, power hungry controller..

I was using the joy cons with the holder that comes with the switch but it just wasn't the same as using the a real controller so I decided to try the pro controller. It feels great in the hand and the layout is similar to that of the Xbox controller which is what I have grown up playing with. The only issue I have seen with it so far is that it seems to lose its charge quite fast when not used for a while and charging takes quite a while. Aside from that, very happy with the controller and would definitely recommend this over the joy cons with the holder when playing games on a big screen.

This controller is really a must for any person wanting to play Zelda. The buttons have a nice feel. The controller is also very comfortable in your hands. I do feel $69.99 is a little steep for a console controller, but with teh added HD rumble and amiibo support, we'll see if that extra markup, compared to other console controllers, is worth it.

    Awesome Product, But Prefer Joy-Cons

The Switch's Joy-Cons are very different from other traditional controllers for modern consoles. They definitely take some getting used to. With that said, I bought a wireless pro-style controller and fell in love with it, but it did not have HD rumble and amiibo support, so I ended up returning it. Not long after that, I was able to get a good deal on the Nintendo Swith Pro Wireless Controller. While it had everything I loved about the non-Nintendo controller I purchased earlier, I felt that the uniqueness of the Joy-Cons was one of the reasons I love playing on the Switch. I ended up getting a Joy-Con Comfort Grip that I prefer over the one that comes with the system. As far as the Nintendo Switch Pro Wireless Controller, it felt incredibly comfortable in the hands, like a PS4 or Xbox One controller. The construction of it felt sturdy, despite it's translucent plastic housing. The larger buttons and D-Pad were a welcome improvement from the Joy-Cons in a button layout sense. If I were only playing the Switch in TV mode, I would opt for this controller. But because I play it in handheld mode about 70% of the time, I would prefer to stick with the Joy-Cons mainly for muscle memory when going from one mode to the other. I would highly recommend this controller for anyone who wants a more traditional feel, better button layout, and needs HD rumble and amiibo support.

    Great controller

I have had this controller for about two weeks. I was able to pair it right away and have not had any disconnect issues, fortunately. The controller is comfortable and responds well. It is taking some time to get used to the placement of the Home button and the screenshot button...kind of wish they both had a white label rather than just the logo depressed in the buttons. Other than that I love the controller.

    Must-have for adults

The joy-con controllers are versatile but not comfortable for prolonged periods for adult sized hands. The pro controller is super comfortable with larger buttons and great battery life. The negatives are that the grips can be a little sticky feeling and the joysticks can have clicking sounds (doesn't appear to affect functionality at this point).

#1 MUST BUY for Switch owners

So. Much. Better. Than. JoyCons. Makes Splatoon 2 PLAYABLE. Build quality is great. Nice to hold in your hands. Great sticks. The only thing that would be an improvement is analog triggers, but I can live without those. I actually WANT to play my Switch again.

Much better than wired Power A

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

After purchasing the Power A zelda wired controller for $25 and unboxing it, it felt so cheap in my hands and the joysticks are pure plastic and the tops were so smooth and slippery that my thumbs moved all over the place, and it was extremely annoying after the first minute only. The buttons are also an annoying hard plastic, but thankfully the Pro Controller is night and day difference, but for $30 more. The pro controller has rubber coated joysticks and everything is perfect. Only problem with Nintendo products is the insane price point. Thankfully this is on sale at Best Buy for $56 instead of $70 retail, but I have to knock off a point for the ridiculous price.

I’d held off on grabbing one for years just because the price felt dumb when I already perfectly fine joy cons. But everyone else is right, this really is a big step up.

mostly good but amiibos don't scan well

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

The wireless is the main selling feature here, at least as far as I'm concerned, although the secondary thing for me was the ability to scan amiibos. Well, that's not going so well. Sometimes it takes, often it doesn't and I'm forced to undock the switch and use the joycon scanner. This is a nuisance. The amiibo scanner should work reliably, and it doesn't. For the price these controllers go for, I'd expect a more reliable scanning ability. I still think this is the best controller due to it being the only first-party, wireless, adult-sized controller available, but I'm a tad miffed about the poor amiibo scanning function.

    Still Excellent

I love the Pro Controller, it's so smooth. This is my second one (I just wanted a spare). I remember when I was playing a platforming game on PC with a crappy controller and switched (hah) to the Pro Controller, I was suddenly not so bad at the game. It made a world of a difference. Unfortunately, these no longer seem to connect to my new PC for technical reasons I sure don't understand, but for Tears of the Kingdom and Switch games, I'm still very happy with my purchase. Maybe my only criticism is that it doesn't have as much grip as other fancy controllers, but I don't really have a problem with that most of the time.

    Down with the JoyCons

Long live the ProController. I got this controller on a whim because I needed an extra set of controls and was getting tired of dealing with the eventual drift that the JoyCons are doomed to. Loving it so far, hoping it stays this way.

As soon as you unbox the controller and grip it with both hands, you will immediately satisfied with your purchase. Perfect weight, perfect rumble... it all adds up to a much enhanced experience when playing tabletop or docked.

    The only controller worth using.

I bought a cheap $20 3rd-party controller from gamestop earlier and tried it out, immediately realizing I had made a mistake. I decided I would go for an actual 1st-party controller and I couldn't find it anywhere, not even on amazon, but Best Buy happened to have it in my area. I am thankful I was able to get it on the same day I bought that awful controller I regret buying. It feels great, the buttons don't make annoying sounds when you press them, the analog sticks are satisfying, and it definitely beats using any other controller for the Switch. Definitely worth every dollar.
