Works well, holds a charge. Measurements and handling differ slightly from the standard Switch Joy Cons, enough to be noticeable, but that doesn’t have much impact on game play.

This is one of the best controllers I ever had, feels good holding in your hands. Strong and lightweight, battery life lasts long. My wife has arthritis in her wrist and hands and she's able to use this controller without pain. Definitely recommend.

    Expensive Yet Worth the Money

Yes, this controller is more expensive than the standard controllers of the systems from Sony and Microsoft. It is less than half the cost of the Xbox Elite Controller (which this is not as good as, but should not be compared due to the price difference). The battery life is very long (I have used it every time I dock my Switch, and have not had to charge it since the day it came out). It is comfortable in my large-ish hands, and is much more comfortable than the Joy-Con Grip for longer gaming sessions. I would advise people to try the Joy-Con Grip (included with the Switch system) before purchasing this controller because the Joy-Con Grip is honestly not bad. However, for those (like me) that want to keep the Joy-Cons connected to their Switch system at all times, regardless of being docked or on-the-go, the Switch Pro Controller is a must.

I'm use to the Xbox and Playstation controllers, and while the Switch has the peripheral to mimic those two, it didn't quite feel right. Getting this controller was definitely a good decision. Battery life is awesome (haven't tested it, but there are times where I'll realize it's been a while since I last charged it), no lag, and honestly just feels a lot better to use than the Joycons.

I'm deeming the Nintendo Switch pro controller the best controller ever. I have played with almost all console controllers: N64, PS 1-4, Xbox 360, Gamecube, Wii, Wii U game pad and pro. I thought the PS dualshock series couldn't be beat, and I'm extremely fond of the gamecube controller, but this one beats them all. It's extremely comfortable and well balanced. All the buttons are placed just right and easy to use. I could go on, but I don't think people will doubt the quality of the controller at this point. I know the price is the problem with most people. Well I agree that $70 is expensive, but I also believe that you get what you pay for. If you enjoy playing with a traditional controller and you play quite a bit on your Switch, I strongly suggest purchasing at least one of these pro's. You won't regret it.

As a general rule, I don't refer to accessories as "must-have" - and if you play mostly in handheld mode or party games in docked mode, maybe this isn't. But if you spend much time at all playing single player/online games, buy this now. The controller size and quality are excellent, and the battery will last a full week at minimum, even if you game pretty much constantly.

One Of The Best Nintendo Controllers Ever!

One of the best Nintendo controllers of all time. Lasts up to 40 hours and I can't have enough of them. If you play video games literally everyday with this, you'll probably get 3 1/2 years out of it before the left stick starts drifting, but that's just if you play every single day like me. That's bound to happen with ANY controller in use that much. These controllers are quality and are mandatory for playing Nintendo Switch games imo.

Lightweight and efficient. Having the larger buttons is a major upgrade over using the joycon holder. At first, the left joystick had a sticking issue, but Best Buy made return and replacement effortless. If not for that, I'd have knocked a star off. So far it holds a charge just fine - just pop it back on the charger when done playing. I play pretty long sessions and haven't had issues with it going dead yet. It's been a month so far and the quality hasn't changed. They seem to be fairly priced even if they are a bit expensive in general - they are comparable to the wireless controllers for other major gaming systems.

    Nintendo Switch Pro Controller Review

Very durable, very comfortable, good weight. Only issue with it is it doesn’t have the most precise d-pad but I don’t play 2D games with the d-pad anyway. As well as, over time and with a good amount of use the left stick will accumulate gunk which most likely causes the stick to drift if enough of it is built up. But as long as you are thorough enough in your cleaning you should be good for another week at least, which isn’t ideal, but I don’t mind it. When I say value is average I’m saying that compared to other companies first party controllers there is no additional value compared to the price you have to spend.

If you are constantly using the nintendo switch, this controller is a must-have. This controller is by far the most comfortable controller for a nintendo switch. All of the buttons are sturdy and feel high quality, and the overall grip on the controller is super comfortable. This controller also has an excellent battery life, I am hardly ever concerned with whether or not its charged or needs to be charged. This controller is comfortable for large and small hands, so don't worry if your hand is a little bit larger or smaller than average, this controller will work great. If you can overlook or afford the $70 price tag, this controller is a MUST!

I've had a lot of controllers and this still rates among the most comfortable I've held. This is a perfect upgrade for your Switch if you're looking to stop your hand from cramping on the non-ergonomic Joy-Cons. It has HD rumble, NFC, gyro, and seamless compatibility with the Switch. It can pair with other devices like your computer, phone, tablet, etc., but this device is best when paired with one device that you're going to consistently use it for and that device is likely your Switch. If you're looking for extra gimmicks like back buttons, turbo, multi-device switching, button remapping, etc., you're probably going to want something else. I have my share of controllers and peripherals from 8bitdo, Playstation, Xbox, Nyxi, and the Pro Controller is the only one I want to use when I play Switch on my TV. If you want simple and premium, the Pro Controller is the way to go.

Pro Wireless Controller for the Nintendo Switch

The Nintendo Switch Pro Controller is a game-changer for anyone seeking a premium gaming experience on the Switch. Its ergonomic design fits perfectly in the hands, making long sessions of Super Mario Odyssey or The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild comfortable and immersive. The controller’s build quality is rock-solid, with responsive analog sticks, a stellar D-pad, and satisfyingly clicky buttons that enhance precision in fast-paced games like Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. The 40-hour battery life is phenomenal, outlasting many competitors, and the USB-C charging is convenient for quick top-ups. Features like HD Rumble, motion controls, and Amiibo NFC support add depth, seamlessly integrating with the Switch’s ecosystem. Wireless connectivity is flawless, whether in docked or tabletop mode, and the controller’s sleek, understated design feels both modern and durable. While it’s a bit pricier, the Pro Controller’s comfort, reliability, and feature set make it an essential upgrade over Joy-Cons for serious gamers. Highly recommended for elevating your Switch adventures

    Great controller!

This controller is great. If you're even remotely a casual player, this is a must have controller for the switch. Spent way too many hours using the switch joy cons on Zelda and finally making the "switch" to this made a world of difference (pun intended). However, I took off 1 star because I have been experiencing that d-pad sensitivity issue that many have been reporting. To be honest, it's not THAT bad. You'd just occasionally have to be a bit more pronounced when pressing any of those buttons on the d-pad. But again, we can easily point the finger back to Nintendo for allowing such a poor design to pass. My other complaint is that the controller is a bit pricey. How can you justify a $70 price point when the other consoles vary between 40-60? Other than that small defect, the battery life is actually really great, the controller holds very comfortably and everything else functions as you'd expect. If you're willing to overlook that small d-pad issue and the price point, investing in this controller is a no brainer. My actual review score would be 3 1/2 stars but it looks like we can't do half star reviews on this site.

The Nintendo Switch pro controller is a must have addition for you ur gaming needs. The layout is similar to the legendary Xbox 360 controller with offset analog sticks, and larger buttons. The included D-pad is a must for fighting games, platformers, and classic retro games. I love the cushioned grips on the side of the controller, which also gives the player added support. The build quality of the controller is outstanding and completely is an upgrade to the previous plastic centric Wii U Pro Controller. It has some weight to it. After playing for hours, my hand never tires due to the supreme comfort. This year Nintendo has sealed their comeback and answered gamer's prayers with the best Nintendo controller in years.

I purchased one of these awhile ago, second hand and not working was able to get it working and I honestly feel that this is one of the most comfortable controllers of all time so far. I love using this controller it has good weight to it is comfortable in your hands and can be used wireslessly. You can plug the USB to usb-c cord right into your switch dock to either charge or use it as a wired controller. Bought this one to have an extra(aka have my own due to my six year old stealing all my stuff). It's not needed but I'm so glad I purchased this prefer it over the joycons all day.

Nintendo does things right. I am very happy with this purchase even though this controller is rather expensive. It holds a charge really well. I can go for a week of playing (at least a few hours every day) before it needs charging. It's very comfortable to hold and I love the build quality of it. The buttons are nicely placed and a joy to use. It's great that it's wireless, I really enjoy that. I've never had any connection issues.

Coming from the Nintendo Wii U, I was not a fan of the Joy-Con controller that the Switch came with. Knowing that we would need additional controllers for all of the family and friends that would come over to play, I was very happy to see that they had the wireless pro controller as an option. We've been using them for a little over a week now and we have no complaints. Although I've started to get used to the Joy-Con controller, I much prefer to use my wireless pro controller, and my 9 and 7 year olds do as well. The charge holds well on the controller, and I don't experience any lag when playing.

A controller is definitely a must for the Switch and this one is basically the standard. The build quality is quite high and has a good weight to it. The design is nice with a semi-transparent face which is a good touch. The handles are textured and the overall feel is good for long play sessions. The sticks feel much more accurate compared to the joy cons due to the larger size. It also can be charged with a USB-C which is really convenient! I charge mine from the dock, but you can also use your own charger (one is not provided). If you are used to an Xbox controller, this is very similar in terms of size and layout. However, I mainly played with a Playstation which controllers are much longer and have a totally different grip. This takes some getting used to. The Switch Pro Controller's handles still feel short to me even though my hands are not that large. My hands also feel too close together which can become uncomfortable. Overall this is a great product but is honestly overpriced. I wanted to get the official controller to try to get the best experience. I believe you get the most authentic rumble from this and the joy cons, something the 3rd party controllers cannot replicate.

The Switch Pro Controller is a must have for any gamer that wants to have the best experience possible with their new console. I will admit I was on the fence about picking this up because of the higher price than other controllers but I really think that it is worth the extra cost. The button/stick layout is very similar to an Xbox One controller which is much appreciated. This controller has a solid feel and is a bit on the heaver side. It feels incredible in the hands and is eons better than the bundled joycon controller grip. Once these are available for order again definitely pick one up. You wont be disappointed.
