I was worried these would not be so great since the joycons break so easily, but I have not had any problems with my pro controller. I bought this one as a second one so no one has to endure using the joycons. I have owned one pro controller since the night the switch was released and it is great. It has a battery that lasts about 10 hours of playing. It has a light, but not cheap weight to it. The controls themselves are very reactive and springy. I highly recommend this if you own a switch or if you are able to play a switch and just show up with your own controller and dominate.

Such a comfortable controller with an amazing battery life. The only downside to it would be the d-pad but it's not too bad for most games.

I keep giving Nintendo my money. I bought it as I started playing Zelda BOTW and didn't particularly like playing with the joycons attached. Hated to layout another 70 bucks for a controller... but I did and I'm satisfied. Build quality on this is better than my Xbox, and the battery lasts seemingly forever. I love the feel of this compared to the Xbox controllers too. Dang, you Nintendo... now I have 4 joycons (for Mario cart), plus an extra controller, plus a charger, plus the plastic steering wheels. What will you make me buy next :).

I used the $20-ish wired controller prior to this. And after initially thinking that controller was cheap but serviceable, I eventually hated using it. Compared to using the cheap controller or using the joycons with the middle connector to make them into a controller (sorry I don't know the proper name for that), this controller makes playing the Switch feel premium. This might actually be my favorite controller of all time. Unfortunately, this is too expensive at full price. I recommend buying this if you prefer playing your Switch docked, but you should wait for a good sale.

Works great for about 2 years and then usually suffers from stick drift or sticking buttons. Compatible with both switch and PC gaming.

The best controller to get for the switch. Not many brands have the rumble feature and feels as comfortable as this one. This is my second controller and would always recommend over any other 3rd party brands.

    Best Controller for Nintendo Switch.

This is definitely the premiere controller for Nintendo Switch. It is a solid game pad in every respect. It has a nice, sturdy build and feels very comfortable in your hands. All the typical controls are there - similar to PlayStation or XBOX. This is about as good as it gets for the Switch. The only slight negative is the price. These pro controllers typically run about $10 more than what you'd pay for a PlayStation or XBOX controller, but that's only a small criticism.

One of my biggest complaints about using the joy-cons on the mount when the console is docked is that your hands are at an awkward angle. This controller takes care of that so easily! It's light, comfortable, and just really easy to use. The battery even lasts longer than the console itself when docked. My husband plays for 5 hours a night, and we charge it every few days, the savings on batteries alone makes it worth the cost! My only complaint is that you can't use it for all of the games!

So far I'm hugely impressed with the Switch Pro Controller. $70 is an investment but I think it's honestly worth it. Controller is just the right weight without feeling cheap or uncomfortable to hold. Buttons are clicky and responsive. It has a D-Pad, unlike any other Switch controller options. Excellent battery life so far, compared to my PS4 controller. And they added the biggest feature missing from the Wii U Pro Controller: Gyro aim! Genuinely an awesome addition that makes games like Breath of the Wild handle so well. If you play single player games on the Switch this is worth a serious look.

I never had any intentions of purchasing a Pro controller, but after hearing about its battery life and comfort level from different podcasts I decided to give it a try and have no regrets. I've only charged it one so far it's not showing any signs of giving up. The buttons feel smooth and games like Zelda and Mario Kart player better in longer sessions because of it. I know the price tag may turn may away, but my advice is to get a Pro controller if you don't have a second set of joycons. This way you can player any 2 player game without having to rely on splitting the joycons, and you still have the option of 3 player sessions between the two controllers.

Great controller, works well, durable, and functional. Definitely better than off brand controllers, and a great choice if you prefer the standard controller grip to dual joy con. Has great battery life, never ran it out as long as I charge it every day or two overnight, and sticks have yet to experience drift.

The pro controller is a great alternative to the joy con. It's basically an Xbox 360/One controller. I've had it for 3 weeks, and no issues so far. Battery life is great, durability seems fine, and it does the job. A pro controller might be a good fit for any Switch user because the joy cons seem to be having some issues with reliability and/or durability. Not all joy cons, but I have heard that the durability of the joy cons leaves a little to be desired. This is a great alternative. Even if you aren't a Xbox user, a PlayStation user would be perfectly fine adjusting to this controller. It's comfortable, reliable, and easy.

Great controller, worth the price. My previous controller was a Power A wireless controller, but it eventually got the dreaded drift. I haven’t had this controller long enough to know if this will eventually do that, but I already enjoy it because it feels amazing, it looks amazing, and charging it is much easier and cost effective than changing the batteries all the time. It lasts very long on one full charge, and comes with a long cord, that you could play while charging if necessary. Overall, great controller and I think it is worth the price.

Joy Cons are fine when playing with others, but this controller is what I prefer to use when playing solo. It is more comfortable to hold in my hands. If you’re more familiar with other controllers, like an Xbox or PlayStation controller, you’ll feel at home with this. I feel like Nintendo accessories can be a bit on the pricey side, so if you have the disposable income AND joy cons are uncomfortable/too small, this is a no brainer. Easy to connect and it charges with the switch docking station.

This is controller definitely has become a huge part in my Nintendo switch gaming experience. I very much appreciate the look of the joy cons but as for someone with larger hands they do lack size. This pro controller has made it possible for me for to enjoy long hours of gaming with an ergonomic feeling someone with large hands would really appreciate. On top of that, it’s wireless! This is a must for those with large hands and honestly anyone who enjoy traditional gaming controllers.

Highest rated controller for a reason. (It's also a bank crusher.) There's two things you probably aren't or won't be using it for that are pumping that price up: - NFC reader - gyroscopic sensor If you just went "what?", you wouldn't be alone. The controller has the capabilities to communicate with Amiibos (and other NFC devices), and it can utilize motion sensor controls. Two things people just aren't capitalizing on right now. But they're included tech, and so you pay more. Chances are you're reading this because of Ultimate. Well, I can assure you the controller is good enough for living room play. If you are pro-pro, you should be using a GameCube controller hooked up to the 4-port OFFICIAL Nintendo USB adapter. You will not find a more honest answer out there. That is the only way to really play Smash, and that's why those peripherals are now crazy expensive. But if you are reading this review because you want the best Switch designed controller available and want to play other games, there is no exceptions. You want this one. It's comfortable, responsive, long battery life, two push button analog sticks, and all the buttons to do all the things the system's designed to do. Yes it has "HD Rumble". No I do not believe in HD Rumble. HD Rumble means there's levels of rumble, as opposed to just having a tiny motor spin inside the controller at a set speed when a current runs through it. It is NOT a deal breaker and is not a requirement to play games. Honestly, I turn it off when it's annoying me too much, which you can do from the HUB menu on the Swtich. The charging chord that comes with it is USB-C and about 3' long. It will charge the controller and allow you to play with it simultaneously, but it does NOT set up a direct connection to the system. The controller is a wireless controller. I thought I'd share that because others probably won't. It's matte, so sweaty smudge marks don't show up as much (like on the Wii U controllers), but it does need to be wiped down occasionally. The grips are rubber which accelerates this issue. Trigger buttons are clicky, true to their digital design. Again, digital means it recognizes on and off. Analog means it recognizes quarter off, half off, 3/4 off. So if you half-press down the right trigger button, you either get a reaction, or you don't get a reaction. You don't get a "soft shield", like in Smash Bros. Melee. This product is not just recommended, it's practically required. Other controllers won't start up the system on a button press (Joy Cons will too, but that's another review).
