    Great alternative to the Joycons

I enjoy the Joycons on the switch, but it is nice to have a proper controller. I bought this alongside Pokken Tournament DX specifically for a better experience while using the Switch in Docked Mode. Same layout as the Xbox One controller with a slight difference in texture and a different feel when hitting the buttons. I find that it works great most of the time and am grateful for the Type-C charging port. The only issues I have, and this carries over into the Joycons as well, is that sometimes my I put will be dropped if I move *just* too far or don't have a pretty direct line of sight with the Switch. I have also found a bit of stick-drift in the left stick. But overall I think it does it's job very well and is a more comfortable alternative to the standard Joycons that come with the system.

I really like this comtroller over the Joy-cons for the price. The buttons are larger and makes mashing buttons easier for adult hands. I wish there was a contrasting color to the buttons to the controller, but otherwise a very good shape and size.

This is another great controller from Nintendo. I've been using it while docked on my switch to play Zelda. It just feels good and with the right heft. It works well with Zelda. I sometimes prefer this over the joy cons. Only drawback is the price. Should've been a little cheaper.

    Good controller, classic Nintendo issues

Love the controller when it works! The biggest issue is one that Nintendo is fully aware of, and that's the poor quality design of the analogs. Joy-con drift is real, and while great that Nintendo is fixing those for free, the same issue is present on this controller, and the Gamecube one as well. The last Pro controller I had, Nintendo said they'd fix it for "free", but that shipping and a small fee would be required, which was, no surprise, the cost of a brand new controller...Can't make this stuff up. Nintendo prints money, maybe spread it around to the production designers. Buy the extended warranty to save money on a new replacement in the year that it lasts...

Much better range than detached joycons

When using detached joycons in the grip, I had to stand in front of the TV near the console or pull up a chair and keep the joycons within line of sight, otherwise connection issues would cause input dropouts. With the Pro Controller, I can sit back on the couch across the room, as comfortably as I like and have no issues whatsoever. I thought I might have to get a longer cable (the included cable is only 1 meter -- about 3.3 feet -- unlike what is mentioned as a "best answer" on a question here that incorrectly states 10 feet), as I am generally wary of wireless gaming controllers, but honestly I have not felt any lag or connection issues. Yes, it is much more expensive than the aftermarket controllers. However, those don't have motion control, which is essential for some games like Splatoon 2 (without motion control you only have coarse stick aiming; with motion control you have both coarse stick aiming and fine motion aim adjustment), and they don't have rumble, which can be essential for elements of other games, like Super Mario Odyssey which uses the rumble to let you know you're close to a hidden object. So, consider the games you play and whether these two features are important for you. Before I got this controller, I played the Switch almost exclusively in handheld mode because of the poor wireless connection quality of the joycons. With this controller, I play on the TV as much as possible. I'm obligated to point out that I am an employee of Best Buy. However, this has no bearing on the content of this review.

The remotes that latch to the switch we seem to be buying under a year over and over again. I love the idea but they don’t last. We purchased this remote ad a helper when playing on the tv and it significantly better for normal wear and tear. Wish the “classic” Nintendo one was available as I wound purchase that one too.

While I think this controller is overpriced, it feels great with a real weight to it. It's probably worth the investment in the long run as in TV mode the joycons really stand out as too small for long play sessions. I used this controller for my Zelda play-through and loved it
