Having to buy a new pro controller to replace one with stick drift isn’t my favorite circumstance, but buying from Best Buy did make the experience painless. Simple to find online, and delivered quickly. The pro controller itself remains pretty great despite eventually developing stick drift like all modern controllers; needs to be charged maybe once a week even when playing Tears of the Kingdom heavily everyday, and comfort which may be even better than the PS5’s dualsense controller.

Joy-Cons, I love you, but...no. The Pro controller is so much more comfortable, and the battery consistently lasts me WEEKS without needing a charge. Haven't had a drift issue with the Pro as I did with my joy cons. Highly recommend.

The price was a bit steep but this controller is a must have for sports and racing games. A big improvement from the "controller" that comes with the switch. The battery life is exceptional as well. I really like the feel and texture.

they fit in my hand - perfectly. they have good weight without being too light or too heavy. they charge quickly and hold the charge well for a good amount of play time. my only gripe is that the y, x, b, a button were designated a bit more clear (so i can see which is which) it is often hard to see the letters on the button. other than that - great controller.

The controller has a great feel and is a MUST have for Zelda and Splatoon. The feel is very comfortable even more than the ps4. Compared with the xbox though, it is definitely comparable. I would highly recommend if you could and want to dish out the money. I was very much against it as well until I tried my brother-in-laws. I fell instantly in love but wish Nintendo would lower the price on this... but hey, that what you get for Nintendo... Buy all these extra components that you wished you got with the system and overprice it all. #hardtobeanintendofan

This controller is a high quality addition to your gaming adventure. The controllers charge last for a very long time. It has a good weight to it and is compatible with all games. The rumble and motion features make it great to use with any game.

Very much a premium controller, sadly a premium price too. I have a very hard time using the joycons for any significant amount of time without hand cramps. This thing however is great. My only complaint is the price. I got it on sale around the holidays otherwise I probably would never have gotten one. Glad I got it. Battery life is great & it feels good in the hands. Comfortable to play on for long sessions which cannot be said for the joycons, even with the included grip.

I definitely felt like I was splurging when I was purchasing this controller because there are many cheaper alternatives. I’m glad I got this one because I can turn on my switch remotely if it’s in the dock. it’s so comfortable to hold, has vibration, and holds battery for a very long time. Not the end of the world if I didn’t have this controller, but I love how quickly and easily it connects to the switch.

Forget those tiny joycon controllers, THIS is where the action's at! Anyone who owns a Switch should plan on getting this controller sooner rather than later...the analog sticks are much bigger and more responsive, it has a proper d-pad, and at 35 to 40 hours of battery life it usurps even the PS4 and Xbox One standard controllers. It does still have some sync issues with the Switch hardware, but just make sure to connect it with your Switch via the included USB-C cable for the initial use and you should be fine. By the way, the included cord is only 3-ft long...so depending on where you sit you may want to invest in a longer cord for use while charging. The Pro d-pad still leaves something to be desired when used for fighting games, it's still much better than trying to struggle with the joycon buttons or analog stick. It's a bit pricey, but I still recommend it.

    Amazing controller

This controller is amazing. The buttons are larger, the controller isn't too heavy, and no battieries required. In fact, the battery life is so good that I havent even needed to charge it yet and I've had it for 2+ weeks. When I'm not playing the switch in handheld mode, this is my go-to controller. The out of the box joycon controller attachment is too small and strains my hands after a prolonged session. Now that I have one of these in my house, my room mate and I constantly fight over who gets to use the Pro Controller when playing Mario Kart. 10/10 controller. in comparison to the PS4 and Xbox 1 controllers, this is my favorite. The color of the controller is more of a transparent dark grey, which is fine but I expected a jet black color based on pictures I saw. I do wish it came in different colors and I'm sure Nintendo will do that in the future. Would not play the switch on the TV without this, it definitely enhances the experience.

This control is a better choice than classic Joy Cons in most games, unless you need some kind of freedom like in Mario Odyssey or Just dance, the control is superior in every aspect compared to JoyCons, it's a little expensive, but it's still worth.

Love this controller compared to the original joycons that come with the Switch. It is much larger and easier to hold. I am able to get a better grip using this controller. Love it. Definitely recommend. Long battery life and charges quickly .

Great buy. I have large hands, makes playing my switch a lot easier at home, or at work with a stand lol. Charges quickly and lasts forever on the charge. Buttons are responsive, and I have had zero issues. A bit pricey but I got what I paid for.

Fantastic controller. Buttons are responsive and it has just enough “umph” in the weight department to make it feel quality and not cheap. A great aspect since using it that I’ve noticed is how long the charge lasts. I’m lazy and forgetful. Two bad characteristics to keep things charged. This controller goes for days with plenty of play and lack of plugging in. Get it, especially if the Xbox controller is high on your list.

The in-box Switch joy-con controllers are one thing, but if you have even remotely non-small hands, they typically feel cramped for any extended gaming sessions. That's where the Pro Controller comes in. Extremely comfortable to hold. Ergonomic grip, great button/joy/d-pad placement. Just the right amount of weight to it; substantial but not overtly so. Battery life is also fantastic (1300mAh). It can be used for for hours on end (sorry haven't ever quite measured it) without needing a charge. Conversely, joy-cons require far more frequent sessions. Now, if you've nearly fully drained the thing (I'd recommend not letting it drop past 30-50%) it CAN take several hours. The prod does NOT support fast charging (5V/0.5A .. roughly equivalent to a much older smartphone). However, if you allow a few hours here and there, depending on your usage, you'll really never hit that wall of concern :) Incredibly responsive, buttons, d-pad and joysticks all have a great feel. Great accuracy. Some have complained negatively about the d-pad feel compared to competitors. That hasn't been my experience. Highly recommended for anyone but the most casual gamer on the Switch. It will day-and-night improve your experience and make your sessions far more enjoyable.

I've been using the joy cons for about 2 years and finally decided to get the pro controller. It's a huge difference much more comfortable and I don't have to deal with any drift. It has a decent battery life as well.

I would give this a 4.5 if I could. This controller may be one of my all top favorite controllers with one slight disappointment. First the pros. The ergonomic feel and layout of the buttons and grip handling of the Switch Pro Controller is far superior to the joy-cons. The face buttons are also larger than the buttons on the joycon which gives more comfort for longer gaming sessions. The triggers feel and respond just right. The controller build quality is very solid with a little weighty feeling that doesn't cause hand fatigue. I the handles themselves also have a nice textured grip that just feels great to handle. The only major negative that I have is that there is no 3.5mm headphone jack on the controller, but this speaks to the overall complexity of the voice chat experience with the system that is still being worked out. I hope that with the Switch Online service to come in September of 2018 that voice chat will be made simpler and maybe a revision will come to allow wired headset connection to the controller. Until then though- if you want to game on the Switch with comfort and satisfaction- get this controller. I've had no d-pad issues whatsoever.

When I first got my Switch, whenever I played with it connected to my TV I used the JoyCon controller conversion thing that came with it. That worked fine for a while, but it just does not feel right. I decided I wanted something a little more comfortable, so I tried this controller. Boy does it make a difference. It is very comfortable, especially compared to the JoyCon thing that came with the Switch. It is wireless and charges pretty quick, but you can play with it still plugged into the Switch dock in a pinch. If I had to give a negative quality, it would be that the buttons do not click like the JoyCon buttons do, but honestly that is just nit picky, and I will not dock the score for that alone. Five stars all the way.
