    Amazing controller with one downside...

I struggled giving this five stars because it does have one pretty glaring flaw, but let me talk about the positives first. The overall feel of this controller is amazing and it comes second to only the XBox One for my favorite controller of all time. Super responsive, comfortable for bigger hands, great batter life (might have the best better life of any controller, ever)...can't ask for much more. Only negative is the rumble is so weak I wondered if I had a defective model. In fact I almost took it back before looking online and seeing that's just how it is. I could also add in the price as a negative, definitely watch for this on sale. Overall though I feel like the positives far outweigh the negatives and I highly recommend it.

A Must Buy Accessory for Your Switch

I do love my Switch, and the joycons are neat. But, they are not the sturdiest of controllers nor are they really designed for big hands. I have very big hands. The Pro Controller fixes both of these issues. It is extremely durable and feels very good in my big meathooks. Another added perk is the battery life - this thing is a beast and it lasts forever in between re-charges. I suspect that is because there are no bells-and-whistles on it (such as lights and/or speakers), and the HD rumble has many degrees of power so it's not a constant volcano-eruption every time a rumble prompt occurs. If you like playing with controllers on your other consoles, you will have no trouble getting used to how the Pro Controller feels.

Alright, I get that the title is a stretch, but I do mean it when I say: This controller feels amazing to use. Its in the Top 3 of controllers to use, with PS2 & Gamecube for me. If you're not a fan of how the Joy-cons feel in their controller handle dock, since its not angled like a regular controller & the thumbs have to move up & down, then i would highly recommend this to you. I would in general. Its feels nice to hold, the controller has weight to it, which is nice compared to the small Joy-cons (even though they don't feel terrible, just... light). While the D-Pad itself isn't like previous D-Pads & you might find yourself hitting a direction you didn't mean to, it doesn't happen enough to be a big negative. While the price is, I'd say, $10 too high, This is a controller you need to pick up at some point.

    Debating a Second One!

I have to say, my friends all suggested that I get one of the off-brand controllers for Switch and made fun of me for wanting to pay the higher price for this one. I am SOOO glad I did! It synched perfectly with my console just by plugging it in, and I have had zero connection issues since. The Pro controller feels great and provides a much better gaming experience than using the Joy-Cons together. It keeps charge for much longer than expected even with a couple hours of play each day. I do not really have many folks over to game these days, but I am definitely debating the purchase of a second one just in case. Highly Recommend!

It sounded a little steep at $70, but once I got my hands on it to start playing, I quickly realized that it's completely worth it. It's got a great weight and it feels awesome in your hands. Plus the battery life is pretty incredible.

I only have two complaints: 1) the dpad; and 2) the triggers. The dpad is unprecise and it frequently registers the wrong input. The triggers do not depress far enough. Unfortunately they are more clicky than springy, which was a big let down for me. Everything else is great. In terms of comfort, it's similar to the 360's controller. In regards to battery life, there is no comparison. This thing gets like 40 hours on a single charge! It's by far the best way to play the switch.

The original is simply the best! I cannot overstate the quality of the Nintendo produced Pro Controller. There are a lot of Nintendo "certified" 3rd party controllers out there, but the simply don't meet the build quality of the "OFFICIAL" pro controller. The battery life on this controller is between 35-40 hrs depending on the game's use of rumble motors. This controller still outlasts the OEM controllers of the XB and PS by a mile.

solid controller option for the Switch

Most people that I know whom own the switch where not feeling to comfortable holding the joy-con controllers with their hands, I am one of those people who complained about it also. The Pro controller gives Nintendo Switch owners the option to play their favorite titles the old fashioned way with dual thumbsticks, a d-pad, but with the added benefit of motion sensors. The controller feels durable, it has a built in Amiibo reader, and rumble effects. The controller is very comfortable to hold, feels great, its very responsive, and would make a PS4 and Xbox owners feel right at home. My only complaint is the price tag of the controller costs more than a game makes it less attractive to the other cheaper alternatives for switch controllers.

Overall a great controller. Good battery life, nice click-y buttons without too much travel, and has a nice weight to it that makes it feel like a quality build. The D-pad isn't that great though. It can often have improper inputs (such as UP if you press LEFT or RIGHT). I'd try seeing some other 3rd party options first if you don't feel comfortable with the price and don't care for things like NFC, H-D Rumble, and Gyro Controls.

If you are at all interested in serious gaming on the Switch, the Pro Controller is an absolute necessity. A sturdy (if boring) build, long lasting (but not as long as the Wii U Pro Controller) battery, and a comfortable hold in most hands makes long gameplay sessions with games like Breath of the Wild or Metroid Dread enjoyable. It's not a great deal at its non-sale price (especially if you own a PS4/5 or Xbox), but if you can find it on sale at certain points of the year, make sure to snatch one of these up ASAP if you haven't already.

If you own a Nintendo Switch and play in Tabletop or Docked modes you MUST have this controller. This is my second Pro Controller...loved the first one and picked up a spare when they were on sale for Christmas. So much more comfortable to hold than the joy-cons. Supports vibration/rumble and has an NFC reader built-in for your Amiibo collection. Much longer battery life than the joy-con (roughly double, manufacturer claims 40 hrs). Can also function as a wired controller via USB if your low-battery warning comes on...just be aware the NFC/Amiibo support is lost when tethered. Only con is there are some games which don’t support the Pro Controller (e.g. Mario Party).

Turns out to be easier on my hands than the joy-cons + grip. However, I'm not a complete fan of where the Plus/Minus buttons are in relation to the Home and Capture ones: I keep hitting the Capture button when I meant to press Minus. I also hate how the connected D-pad means that sometimes means an attempt to move a selection left instead moves it up. No drift yet.

It may be pricey but I'm glad I got this controller. First and most importantly the ergonomics are so much better than just the standard joy cons that come rush the switch. I can play much longer using this controller because of the design. It's great quality and you don't have to worry about the joy cons starting to drift. They battery life is outstanding. It says 20 hours in each charge. I believe it because I usually charge it every one to two weeks. It's easy to set up to the switch. Just been to press the sync button on top and the Switch walks you through the rest. Expensive but worth it.

If you have a Nintendo Switch and are used to controllers like the Playstation or XBox, then you need to buy this controller. Obviously there are some games that you'll need the Joy-Con's for, but for solo playing, FPS games, Zelda, Mario, etc., it's a must have. It is fully motion enabled, has built in haptic feedback (rumbles, feel explosions, etc.), it has substantial weight that makes it feel really solid in your hands. And of course it feels like a real controller. No matter how I try I just can't "believe" in those tiny Joy-Con controllers. They feel rinky-dink and fake to me. Don't hesitate, buy this if you are a serious gamer.

I purchased the switch pro controller mostly for when friends/family wanna play games on my switch, it's similar to an xbox one/360 controller which alot of people are used to so that's a good thing. The grip handles, battery and build quality seem great, something you can always expect from nintendo. I personally haven't used the controller much only because i like the joy cons. Alot of people aren't used to the joy cons tho, i want friends/family to play with comfortable controller's when we game together and so far everyone says the pro controller is great. It's a little pricey for a controller but i think the built in NFC and HD rumble more than make up for that, bottom line it's a great controller and i will definitely be buying a few more soon.

It's a great product. Performs well and has great battery life. I love using the Pro Controller more than the Joy-Cons for my Switch because it feels like a video game controller that I'm used to using. My only complaint is that $69.99 is A LOT for a controller that does the same thing that two Joy-Cons do and isn't supported by several games. Best Buy's online price of $56.99 is what made me even consider purchasing.

This controller is a much better quality than the other Switch alternatives out there. The batter life is great, the rumble is awesome, and it feels good in the hands. The Switch joy-cons don't compare to this one. Likes: Quality; color; rumble; battery life; USB-C charging Dislikes: Maybe offer some other color options? Oh, by the way: A year later and this thing is working like it did on day one. I haven't had any issues with this controller. If you feel like you might have issues down the road, buy the geek squad protection plan, I have used those in the past and they have come in handy!

Great controller. Sets the standard for all others. I think I like it even more than my (beloved) Xbox controller. They are very similar to each other of course, but this controller feels more refined somehow. This is the second time I've purchased this because I sold my first one to my nephews when I sold them my old switch. But I missed having this controller so I bought another one.
