    Nintendo's most comfortable controller, however...

I've owned every standard controller that Nintendo has ever made, with my previous favorite being the Wii U Pro controller. Despite how bulky it looks, the Switch Pro controller is the most comfortable controller Nintendo has ever made. The buttons are larger than the buttons on the Joy Cons, and the + and - buttons are standard round buttons, not the shaped ones as on the Joy Cons. The Pro controller has more standard, slightly larger analog sticks, and the shoulder buttons are fairly large with a very tactile click when pressed. It even has NFC and motion controls, as the Joy Cons do. The only downside to the Pro controller? The D-pad isn't very good. It's fairly mushy, and it's difficult to switch between directions on it without also accidentally pressing the wrong direction in-between. While playing NES Zelda with it, Link would often undershoot or overshoot doorways in dungeons because of the D-pad sending the wrong direction while trying to get into the doorway. I wouldn't necessarily recommend this as a primary controller for NES gaming. However, for most Switch software, it's highly recommended.

Joycons are notorious for analog drift, and just because you haven’t experienced it yet, don’t think you won’t. This is a solidly built controller. I’ve been gaming since the NES days, and I’ve always purchased upgraded first-party controllers, from the NES Advantage to the XBox Elite controller, and while this isn’t on the level of the Elite, it’s among the best available for the Switch. It’s just a bit pricey, but don’t underestimate the reliability of this first-party option.

I had heard time and time again that this controller is the best way to play. I had my Switch for a little under two years and felt that the Joy-Cons were more than enough until I finally decided to buy this and my only regret was not buying it sooner. The comfort of this control over the Joy-Cons is worlds apart. I've used third-party controllers but the gyro and HD Rumble on the Pro Controller are simply much better. The build quality to me seems very good to me. I just wish they made more color options available.

It has a decent grip, can last for a couple days without charging, and feels easier than the joycons. I always prefer this over the joy-cons.

Literally everything about this controller is great especially the battery life. The one complaint is that the Dpad isn't up to par as they used to be. Trying to play Tetris, the up, on the dpad will sometimes trigger when I'm just trying to move the piece to the right. This is a GREAT game pad for anything that isn't dpad sensitive though

Much better feel in the hands than two Joy-Cons in the joycon grip. Bigger buttons and triggers are a lot easier to use, and the controller feels more premium. Being able to use it while it charges is a big plus as well, and it still has motion controls too. Now, I play every game with it.

I wanted a controller to enable multi-player, and asked a few friends. In the end, spending a little more on the official brand was my choice, to ensure quality equipment that will last. Spend smart money once, i always say, and save money in the long run. The unit is solid, connected seamlessly, and though it has different ergonomics than the Joy-Cons, it is easy to adapt to.

It's a little pricey for a controller, but it's the best controller I've ever used. I've used it somewhat regularly for over two years now and there's no issues with any of the buttons or joysticks, which is more than I can say for the Joy-Cons that actually come with the Switch. Plus, the battery life is great and it charges relatively fast too.
