Disappoint

Great sim for consoles

Excellent new racing IP, with a few growing pains
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Project CARS is a crowd-funded racing simulator developed by Slightly Mad Studios in conjunction with a community of racing sim fans/investors/beta testers, ie, "Community Assisted Racing Simulator" (CARS, get it?). They delivered a very realistic driving sim, with some incredible physics, visuals, and engine sound. There's a ton of tweaking and tuning available to a wide variety of cars. It is playable with a controller (mostly), but you really should have a force feedback wheel for this thing. As a new IP, there are some growing pains: Leaderboard standings not sorted by car, class, assists on/off; some unrefined AI, glitched pitstops... but the developer is putting out constant updates to address some of this, even as they ramp up development on P-CARS 2. This one's a hit - hopefully, the next version is out of the park.
