Hitchcock's name became as synonymous with suspense in the same way that Disney's became with family entertainment. This 1960 film remains the most famous example of why that is so. From Robert Bloch's novel (itself loosely inspired by the real-life case of Ed Gein), Hitchcock follows a secretary (Janet Leigh) who steals money to help her boyfriend. Feeling tired on her long drive to see him, she decides to spend the night at the all but abandoned Bates Motel. She befriends the hotel's kind, but eccentric owner (Anthony Perkins) and their later heart-to-heart talk helps her see the errors of her ways and she decides to make amends for her crime. What happens next is not only shocking (even today it send shivers down the spine) and has become as famous as the identities of Rosebud & Darth Vader. Hitchcock clearly had the time of his life making this film and this would influence many different films from Play Misty for Me to Jaws to Halloween. The acting and Bernard Herrmann's music have also become classic and deservedly so.

This disc was a beautifully restored classic. And you finally get the uncut version. They don't make em like this anymore.

Psycho is back in the 50th anniversary special edition! We find ourselves back at Bates Motel except this time in HD. Everything about this movie is great. It comes packed with great bonus features. The movie itself is a masterpiece, and Blu-Ray gives it justice. Don't settle for less. The visual quality is stunning, as well as the sound in Dolby 5.1!

The movie is endless and classic, just like the reproductions. Psycho will continue to hail as one of the most influential, scary tales of its time for the horror industry and has been on VHS, DVD, Blu-Ray, and everything else in between. It doesn't matter which version you get as much as the movie, but this one does come with a lot of features, but the only ones I ever watch out for are the ones with out takes, which this has zilch. I just got it because I didn't have Psycho and it had this ok-looking steel case (I agree with the guy who commented about the pink, it really doesn't do much for the movie, what I would've liked to have seen is this steel case with black and white images from the movie all disorganized in different directions around the case, now that would've looked nostalgic.) It's psycho, it's clear, and it's for a fair price, but as long as it's psycho and clear, it don't matter much.

Another one of those films you can't get enough of. The first time I saw it, I started it over again. I loved it so much I didn't want it to be over, the characters, the feel; Alfred Hitchcock have I told you lately that I love you?

The greatest suspense horror film ever made on a low budget and a small cast brilliantly done by Alfred Hitchcock.

Psycho is one of the greatest movies from Alfred Hitchcock and that's saying something. The film might get off to a slow start but definitely makes up for it with the twist and the marvelous character of Norman Bates. One of the very best that pioneered the movie genre that I love.

A horror classic! Bluray + steel book = satisfied customer. Great for horror collectors like myself. Great gift or pick up. Cover art is very nice and a great addition to the collection.
